Malin Akerman on steamy Brittany Snow 'Hunting Wives' scenes: video

Move over, 'Big Little Lies,' there's a new soapy drama about rich housewives, sex, and murder. Malin Akerman stars in the Netflix show 'The Hunting Wives' (now streaming), which is based on the 2021 novel and follows Sophie (Brittany Snow), who moves with her husband (Evan Jonigkeit) from Massachusetts to Texas. While feeling like a fish out of water, she ends up in a complicated relationship with Margo Banks (Akerman), the wife of her husband's boss, Jed (Dermot Mulroney), who is considering running for the Governor of Texas. Margo is the leader of the local clique of socialites and moms. Advertisement 'I love roles like this. It was amazing.' Margo and Jed have an open relationship, allowing Margo to have flings with inappropriately younger guys such as high school aged Brad (George Ferrier) and also women like her friend Callie (Jaime Ray Newman). Plus, she sets her sights on Sophie. As Sophie becomes tied into Margot's group of hard-partying friends – fellow moms and housewives who also like to shoot guns – there's also a dash of murder. I'm not for gratuitous scenes, and I think that this is necessary to Margo's character.' The 'Watchmen' actress noted that the cast had a 'wonderful intimacy coordinator' to collaborate with. 'So before you even get to set, we're rehearsing the scenes. We're talking about what we're comfortable with, what we are not comfortable with so that when we get to set, we're ready to go and we know there are no surprises,' she explained. For the moments when things heat up between Margo and Sophie, Akerman said the atmosphere behind the scenes was 'playful.' 'Brittany and I get along so well. She's such a lovely human. We would be sitting there kind of giggling like school girls, like, 'Oh my God, this is so crazy. What a job we have!'' 'I'm so glad it was with her, and we felt so comfortable with each other,' the 'Couples Retreat' star added. 'We'd become really good friends – and how lucky that we did end up getting along. Because sometimes you have to do scenes with people you're not as bonded with. So, of course there's some hesitation, but we always felt really well taken care of.' 9 Malin Akerman at An Unforgettable Evening at The Beverly Hilton on April 28, 2025 in Beverly Hills, California. 'She doesn't really know what she's getting herself into, but is always willing to go there and feels confident enough to dive into this relationship. So it starts in one place and then it ends up some place different that any of these women would have guessed.' Advertisement Akerman is also known for her roles in 'Rock of Ages,' 'Watchmen' and 2008's '27 Dresses,' co-starring James Marsden and Katherine Heigl. 'We've had dreams about [a sequel],' she said of the romantic comedy. 'We've all dreamt big, but I still haven't any rumors about that. I would love that. '28 Dresses' would be lovely.'

Jennifer Love Hewitt says she was never ‘insecure' until she was shamed for these 2007 photos

Jennifer Love Hewitt can hardly believe what the tabloids said in the early aughts. The actress, 46, was always confident in herself since stepping into Hollywood at age 10. But things shifted in 2007 after photos of her in Hawaii surfaced with the headline 'Stop Calling Me Fat!' 'I just had blind faith in myself,' Hewitt told Vulture in an interview published Friday about growing up. 'I highly recommend it.' 'I was having the time of my life,' Hewitt recalled. 'I had made up the dumbest song about eating snacks and playing in the ocean, and I was singing it to my boyfriend out loud, doing some weird dance move, and they got the picture and then it was on the cover.' Advertisement 'I don't think I was ever really insecure until that cover,' she expressed to the outlet. Where somebody's going to be like, 'Hey, this is her without makeup at the cleaners. She looks 59.'' As for why that moment in particular was so traumatizing, Hewitt explained, 'Because that was me. I think that's why the insecurity carried on. I don't know if I've even ever put that together for myself other than right now.' 12 'People' cover on Jennifer Love Hewitt in 2007. This is just people having a problem with the version of you they think belongs to them.' And she said, 'Take your power back. Belong to yourself, and don't worry about it.'' 12 Jennifer Love Hewitt attends the 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' Hollywood Premiere on October 8, 1997. 'It bothers me more now than it did at that age because I was in it,' Hewitt stated. 'Before I even knew what sex was, I was a sex symbol. I still don't know that I have that fully defined for myself because it started so weird.' I get to put all those little things into her that maybe I didn't notice or get to pay attention to along the way and heal them,' she shared. 'I give that to Maddie constantly.' 'Literally, we've not talked since I saw her at 18 years old when the first movie came out. That's why it's so funny to me. People were like, 'Say something back.' And I'm like, 'What am I going to say? I've not seen her.' On my side, we're good. I have no idea where this is coming from.'

Judy Greer reveals what she plans to change ahead of her 50th birthday

Judy Greer "doesn't want to make any changes" in her life just because she is turning 50. The '27 Dresses' star - who has been married to TV executive producer Dean E. Johnsen and is stepmother to his two children - will celebrate her milestone birthday in July and joked that she is "kind of boring" so she is just planning on going on a trip with her family to mark the occasion. She told PEOPLE: "I'm taking a trip with my family. I guess I'm kind of boring. Everything in my life is really nice and really good, and I'm really happy, so I kind of just don't want to make any changes." Throughout the course of her career, Judy has become known for her roles in films such as '13 Going On 30' and 'Jawbreaker' but admitted as she moved towards the end of her forties that while she felt "very lucky" to be working, there was still a "long way to go" in terms of providing actresses her age across the board with "better" things to do. She said: "I'm very lucky to be an actress in my 40s right now because there are great roles for us.' 'There are great directors and writers out there, and so I think that we're just getting served better material than those women were when I was in my 20s. There's a long way to go. Please don't get me wrong, but it's a start and I'll take it!" Judy can now be seen in the Apple+ sports comedy series 'Slick' and stars alongside Owen Wilson, Peter Dager, Marc Maron, Mariana Treviño, Lilli Kay and Timothy Olyphant. The synopsis reads: "After the collapse of his marriage [to Greer's character Amber-Linn] and getting fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store, ex-pro golfer Pryce Cahil hedges his bets, and future, entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom named Santi [Dager]."

Katherine Heigl Shares Why She's Grateful Her Daughters Aren't Interested in ‘Grey's Anatomy' (Exclusive)

Katherine Heigl isn't concerned about her daughters' lack of interest in Grey's Anatomy — in fact, that's just fine by her. The Firefly Lane star, 46, opened up about why she's actually grateful for the fact Naleigh, 16, and Adalaide, 13, don't want to watch the series at this point in their lives while chatting exclusively with Parade amid her partnership with Poise. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 'My youngest, my son [Joshua, 8], he's like, 'I don't get it.' I'm like, 'Don't worry about it.' My daughters, yes, but they've never seen the show,' Heigl says. 'And I think I said something to Naleigh, my oldest, I said, 'If you want to watch it, I'll watch it with you.' And she was like, 'No. I really don't.' And I was like, 'Okay, that's fine. I get it.' But I know that a lot of kids of her generation are watching it, so I didn't want her to feel like she's not allowed.' She adds: 'Quite frankly, it's just kind of awkward. I don't know. There's a lot of sex on that show, and I think that's weird to watch with my 16 year old, especially when it's me! I mean, I will watch if that's important to [her], but I'm kind of glad it's not.' Despite her kids' disinterest in the long-running medical drama, the Emmy winner tells Parade that she carries a part of her character — along with some of her medical knowledge — with her every day. Heigl famously portrayed Dr. Izzie Stevens for six seasons before exiting the series in 2010. 'I do think I'd still be good at sutures,' she says. 'I do because that's like a muscle memory thing, and we had to do a lot of that. Not on real people, but, I think I could give it a go. If anybody needs that, I'll give it a shot.' In addition to speaking about her Grey's knowledge, Heigl got candid about some of the symptoms she started experiencing after giving birth — like bladder leaks — which made her partnership with Poise a no-brainer. 'Post-pregnancy … the old bladder was not working the same. I actually had a cesarean because Joshua was breech and had a really big head,' she explains. 'But that is its own slew of postpartum issues and healing. Everything could have changed, just even the way my hips went back into place changed, you know? I do think we need to be more honest with each other about it. I had no idea.' Heigl also tells Parade all about the Jason Heigl Foundation, which was founded by her and her mom, Nancy Heigl, in 2008 and is dedicated to animal welfare and ending abuse. 'We could always donate to the big foundations and stuff, but we had some specific ideas about where we wanted to see that money go,' she explains. 'So we figured, let's start our own foundation and really try to make the impact that we believe is possible. We're very, very passionate.' Katherine Heigl opens up about suffering from 'anxiety' as a parent of two teenagers

Katherine Heigl feels a lot of "anxiety" as a parent of two teenagers. The 46-year-old actress has daughters Naleigh, 15, and Adalaide, 13, as well as eight-year-old Joshua with her husband Josh Kelley and doesn't feel as "in control" as she once did with her eldest two. She told PEOPLE: "It really increases your anxiety and your fear as a parent. "You are not as in control as you were when they were little, where you had all the power of keeping them safe and guiding choices. They are their own little people now and they really have their own minds and they're going through it. It's a tumultuous time. "Now that Adelaide's 13, they're both into makeup, they're both into this TikTok dance and that TikTok dance. "They're spending more time together, but that can also go south." However, the former 'Grey's Anatomy' actress does not get involved in the conflict between her two girls because she feels that they have to "work it out" themselves. She said: "I do not try to interfere or navigate or referee. I walk out the room, I'm like, 'They'll work it out.' And they always do. They're very close, but they're teenage girls. They're going to fight." The '27 Dresses' star feels a particular "shame" whenever she loses her cool as a parent and had to say sorry to her children when she did it recently, She said: "My most shameful moments as a parent are when I lose my temper. And I recently did and had to apologize.! Most of all, Katherine just wants to be the "right mother" for her children so that she can set a good example for them when they themselves eventually become adults. She added: "My prayer every night is that I am the right mother for each of my children and their individual needs so that when they get to be adults, they can go slay their own dragons."
