Police investigating fatal ATV crash in St. George's
The RCMP is investigating the death of a 28-year-old man in an early morning ATV crash in St. George's, on Newfoundland's west coast. Police say the crash happened around 3:45 a.m. NT on Sunday. Officers responded to the scene and found an ATV in a ditch of a residential street. A news release sent by the RCMP on Monday morning said officers found the driver of the vehicle dead at the scene. Convenience store robbed in Sarnia, one person facing charges
A convenience store robbery has led to charges for a man in Sarnia. Police say the incident happened just before 5:30 a.m. Thursday at a store on Indian Road at Confederation Street. A man entered the store and allegedly demanded money from the cash register. An unidentifiable object was seen in his hand, and police say the suspect chased the clerk around the store before the clerk locked himself in another room to wait for police. Officers searched the area and found the suspect on Borden Street and placed him under arrest. When police searched him, they said they found a makeshift weapon that had been brandished during the robbery. The accused, a 28-year-old man of no fixed address, was also subject to two probation orders at the time of this offence. He has been charged with robbery, 'wear disguise,' and two counts of breach of probation.

Sherbrooke man arrested after girlfriend found dead
The Sherbrooke Police Service (SPS) launched a homicide investigation after the body of a 33-year-old woman was found in a residence in the eastern part of the city. The victim's relatives who worried for her and alerted the police, who arrived at the residence on Morkill Street around 8:30 p.m. on Friday evening. 'Upon arrival, our officers found the 33-year-old resident dead. Her new partner, aged 28, was arrested at the scene,' said SPS spokesperson Martin Carrier. He did disclose the nature of the injuries so as not to jeopardize the ongoing investigation. 'Initial findings lead us to believe that this is a homicide. A crime scene has been established. SPS investigators and forensic experts are on site and are expected to remain there for part of the day (Saturday),' said Carrier. Witnesses were interviewed on Saturday. The suspect was also questioned by investigators in the morning. The 28-year-old man is expected to appear in court by videoconference in the coming hours. The SPS investigation is ongoing. Woman, 28, arrested after crash with parked vehicle in downtown Winnipeg
A Winnipeg woman is facing a number of charges, including assaulting a police officer, following a rollover and collision with a parked vehicle. Winnipeg police were called to a collision at around 3:10 a.m. on Sunday at Garry Street near Broadway Avenue, according a Monday news releases. Officers found a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze on its roof, and police belive it crashed with a parked vehicle before rolling over. Both vehicles sustained damage. Emergency crews assessed the 28-year-old driver and an 18-year-old passenger who were in the rolled-over Cruze. After both were medically cleared, officers arrested the woman, who was driving, based "on observed signs of intoxication," police said. While being searched at police headquarters, police said she became combative and assaulted the processing officer, who was injured in the lower part of his body, but didn't require medical attention. The woman has been charged with multiple offences, including assaulting a police officer, operating while impaired and possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking. She has been released on a promise to appear in court.
