Sask. woman arrested after crashing with RCMP cruiser, fleeing in Lloydminster
A Saskatchewan woman was arrested after crashing into a RCMP cruiser in Lloydminster on July 4, 2025. (Supplied) A Saskatchewan woman was arrested following a crash with an RCMP cruiser in Lloydminster last week. Police say they were conducting routine patrol duties when a car crossed the center line and crashed into the cruiser at the intersection of 50 Avenue and 48 Street. After the crash, police say the woman fled the scene on foot. Officers located and arrested the woman after speaking with witnesses at the scene, said a statement issued Tuesday. The 36-year-old woman from Frog Lake, Sask., was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, operation of a vehicle while impaired and failing to remain at the scene of a collision. She was released on conditions and is to appear in court later this month. RCMP say the officer in the cruiser sustained minor injuries, was assessed at the hospital and was then released.

Woman charged with murder after children killed in Harristown house fire
A woman has been charged with murder after a horror house fire that killed three children in regional Queensland. Fire tore through a home on Merritt St, Harristown at about 12.30am on May 7. A body - believed to be of a nine-year-old boy - was discovered inside. Two girls, aged 4 and 7, were among the six people who managed to escape from the blaze and were both rushed to hospital with critical injuries. Both girls died in hospital. A 34-year-old man, an 18-year-old man and an 11-year-old boy managed to escape the fire. The 34-year-old man underwent surgery for serious injuries to his arm, while the 18-year-old man and 11-year-old boy were treated for minor injuries. A 36-year-old woman, who was also critically injured in the fire, was transported to hospital under police guard. She has since been charged with three counts of murder, three counts of attempted murder and one count of arson. Her case is due to be mentioned in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
