The Omani pavilion has received wide acclaim for its distinctive design that embodies Omani heritage, culture, and authenticity, as well as for the diversity of participating companies representing the industrial, commercial, and services sectors. Tarek Mousouni Commenting on the pavilion, Algerian businessman Tarek Mousouni, who specialises in the plastics sector, said he was impressed by the high quality and competitive pricing of Omani plastic products, which have gained strong appeal among Algerian consumers. Visitor Iman Boutaljah described the pavilion as 'impressive,' noting the diversity and quality of products on display. She anticipated that several Omani companies would enter into agency and trade agreements with Algerian firms, given the growing confidence in Omani goods. Abderrahmane bin Omar Abderrahmane bin Omar, another Algerian entrepreneur, said the pavilion offers a valuable platform for exploring investment and trade opportunities with Oman. He revealed plans to pursue business partnerships with Omani firms operating in the electricity and agriculture sectors. Oman's participation in the fair includes more than 60 companies engaged in pharmaceuticals, transport, electrical solutions, real estate, fisheries, tourism, food industries, and handicrafts, among other sectors. In parallel, the Algerian-Omani Economic Forum saw bilateral business meetings held between companies and investors from both countries. These engagements aimed to explore opportunities for trade cooperation, establish joint investment ventures, and open new marketing channels for Omani products in Algeria and neighbouring markets. The sultanate's strong presence at the fair reflects its commitment to strengthening international trade ties and enhancing the global reach of Omani industries.

Visitors to the pavilion have praised its unique design, which reflects the authenticity of Omani culture and heritage. Tareq Mousuni, an Algerian entrepreneur in the plastics industry, highlighted the quality and competitive pricing of Omani plastic products, noting their popularity among Algerian consumers. 'The pavilion is an excellent platform for us to explore potential business collaborations,' he said. Another visitor, Iman Boutelja, expressed her admiration for the variety of products on display. 'It's a beautiful and well-organised pavilion. I believe Omani companies will successfully secure distribution deals and agency contracts in Algeria,' she noted. Algerian businessman Abdulrahman bin Omar echoed this sentiment, describing the pavilion as an opportunity for deeper commercial ties. 'Omani industries are known for their quality. ALGIERS: Oman and Algeria reaffirmed their growing economic partnership during the Omani-Algerian Businessmen Forum held in Algiers on Tuesday, under the theme 'Algerian-Omani Economic Partnerships: Pioneering Areas and Promising Prospects.' The forum took place as part of Oman's participation as Guest of Honour at the 56th Algiers International Fair. The event brought together key officials and business leaders from both countries to explore avenues for trade, investment, and industrial collaboration. It underscored the shared commitment of Oman and Algeria to deepen their economic integration and capitalise on emerging opportunities in sectors ranging from manufacturing to logistics and urban development. Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Oman's Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, highlighted the significance of the forum in reinforcing bilateral relations. 'The participation of business leaders from both countries reflects our shared desire to enhance cooperation, expand trade, and explore new investment opportunities,' he said. Al Yousef emphasised Oman's efforts to diversify imports, promote Omani exports, and foster investment integration with Algeria. He noted that both governments are working to provide the necessary incentives, facilities, and enablers to empower the private sector to drive sustainable economic growth. 'Our aim is to build a competitive economy that can keep pace with global changes, while ensuring the sustainability of national development,' Al Yousef added. He also expressed hope that Oman's role as Guest of Honor at the fair would further strengthen trade and investment ties between the two nations. Tayeb Zitouni, Algeria's Minister of Internal Trade and National Market Control, praised the strong historical and brotherly relations between the two countries, which he said have reached a new strategic level in recent years. He pointed to recent high-level state visits — including the Algerian President's trip to Oman in October 2024 and His Majesty the Sultan's visit to Algeria in May 2025 — as pivotal moments that deepened bilateral understanding and commitment. Zitouni highlighted key joint initiatives, such as the $2.4 billion fertiliser production complex in Arzew and the establishment of the Algerian-Omani Investment Fund. He also mentioned new opportunities under study in automotive, energy, agriculture, and pharmaceuticals. 'There is strong potential to expand cooperation in vital sectors like tourism, services, and cultural and traditional industries,' Zitouni said. He called on stakeholders from both sides to redouble efforts to strengthen trade channels and maximise their complementary resources. Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, noted that the forum provided a platform to explore joint ventures across various sectors. He singled out the pharmaceutical and manufacturing industries as areas of promising collaboration. Al Rawas emphasised Algeria's strategic geographic position, which offers access to broader regional markets, making it an attractive destination for Omani investors. — ONA

By OUR CORRESPONDENT Algiers, Algeria – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria received Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, in Algiers on Monday. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the official inauguration of the 56th Algiers International Fair, where the Sultanate of Oman is participating as Guest of Honour. During the meeting, Yousef conveyed the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to President Tebboune, along with His Majesty's sincere wishes for continued progress and prosperity for the government and people of Algeria. President Tebboune, in turn, requested the minister to convey his greetings and appreciation to His Majesty the Sultan, expressing his gratitude for Oman's distinguished participation in the fair. He also extended his best wishes for further growth and prosperity to the sultanate and its people.
