Wiping out colonial mindset key to Viksit Bharat: Amit Shah

The five resolutions, as articulated by Shah, include achieving the goal of a fully developed India, fostering unity and solidarity across all sections of society, taking pride in India's cultural heritage, eradicating all remnants of colonial mindset in governance, culture, and institutions, and ensuring that every citizen contributes proactively to nation-building. Speaking at the 63rd Foundation Day celebrations of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Shah said that "erasing the remnants of a colonial mindset and instilling a strong sense of duty among citizens" will be central to realising India's aspirations as it approaches 100 years of independence. Shah also highlighted major steps taken by the Modi government over the last 11 years, saying they had brought about "transformational changes in governance, security, and development." He emphasised the government's efforts in North-East, including Bodo Accord, Bru-Reang pact, and resolution of border disputes in Assam & Meghalaya, which he said had significantly reduced insurgency-related violence. "PM Modi has set before the country a vision that combines development with heritage. Today, India is on track to becoming a $30 trillion economy over next few decades, but this prosperity must reach every citizen."

New Delhi [India], July 15 (ANI): Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, on Monday addressed the 63rd Foundation Day celebration of the Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) in New Delhi as the chief guest. Addressing the occasion, Shah said that the 63rd Foundation Day of the Bharat Vikas Parishad is a very important day for those who desire India's development from an Indian perspective. He said that if any organization runs undisputedly for 63 years, it is a significant achievement in itself. He further asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged before the countrymen to make India a Viksit Bharat by the year 2047 and a leader in the world in every field. 'This pledge has imagination and resolve as well as an action plan to prove the pledge,' Shah said. He said that Modi Ji has placed five goals before everyone, which include the goal of a Viksit Bharat, freedom from every form of slavery, pride in our heritage, a sense of unity and solidarity and building a sense of duty among citizens. Shah said that Bharat Vikas Parishad has been working like a 'Sevak' on these five goals for a long time. Amit Shah said that this is the 11th year of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister, emphasising, 'Historians will write about these 11 years of Modi Ji's tenure in golden letters.' He said that in the past 11 years, bank accounts of more than 55 crore people were opened, pure drinking water was provided to 15 crore houses, and toilets were constructed in more than 12 crore houses. Shah said that gas cylinders were provided to more than 10 crore houses, and more than four crore people were given their own houses. Crores of loans were given under the Mudra Yojana, out of which two-thirds of the loans were given to women to empower them to connect them with the development of the country. He said that women's power is being promoted through 'Lakhpati Didi'. (ANI)

Addressing the 63rd Foundation Day program of BVP, Shah emphasised the organization's role in bridging the gap between those who want to serve and those who need service. BVP was originally founded as the 'Citizens Council' in 1963 on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. 'When the centenary of India's independence will be celebrated, Bharat Vikas Parishad will continue to contribute to India's development with more enthusiasm,' Shah added. The Bharat Vikas Parishad is a voluntary organization where they say that 'citizens from all walks of life join to work for the development and growth of our country in all fields of human endeavour through promoting a sense of patriotism, national unity and integrity. This ultimately culminates into Swasth-Samarth-Sanskarit Bharat, a physically, economically and morally strong India. According to the organisation, their work is categorised into 'sewa' (service) and 'sanskar' (educational). For their sewa, they serve the divyang people by manufacturing and providing artificial limbs, taking up integrated village development of over 65 villages all over the country (providing tube-wells for water supply, toilets, constructing / renovating ponds, pathways, drains, class rooms, temples and even common crematoria). They also work with the adivasis, protecting the environment with tree plantation, organising health checkups and yoga camps. For their 'sanskar projects' the organisation does various events for the students, youth, women and the elderly. The Bharat Ko Jano quiz competition and chorus singing of patriotic songs competition are for students to participate in. Students from colleges and professional institutes also participate in online Bharat Ko Jano quiz programmes. Since April 2024, former Supreme Court judge, justice Adarsh Kumar Goel is the national president of the BVP. Justice Goel is also the former Chairperson of the National Green Tribunal. Durga Dutt Sharma is the current national Secretary General. The BVP socio-cultural organisation was founded by 19 people, including Suraj Praskash, Bhai Mahavir, Ved Prakash Kohli, Jitendra Lal Chawla, Vasant Rao Oak, Nakul Bhargava, Ram Sarup, VK Bhatnagar, Prem Nath Seth and others. "PM Modi Built Ram Mandir, Brought 5G To India": Amit Shah
Prime Minister Narendra Modi built the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and also brought 5G, said Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday, underlining the government's focus on both heritage and progress. "People with leftist ideology ask what good came from building the Ram Mandir. I say they won't understand. Modi ji built the Ram temple and brought 5G to India. He took digital payments to the vegetable seller on the street," Mr Shah said, while attending 63rd Foundation Day of Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP). The Minister also highlighted Modi government's broader efforts - from replacing colonial symbols with Indian ones to expanding AIIMS, IITs, and promoting education in regional languages. Praising BVP's legacy of selfless service inspired by Swami Vivekananda, Mr Shah said the organisation has over 1,600 branches across the country and continues to serve with dedication, especially during disasters and social causes. "It is not just an organisation, but an idea that links Indians to their identity," said Mr Shah. "BVP has been walking the path of service long before this era-and it will continue to do so," Mr Shah added.
