Hamilton fans react as key cast member ‘cut out' of Tonys performance
The original Broadway cast of Hamilton took the stage at the 78th annual Tony Awards, but with one notable absence among the solo performers. Hamilton creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda was joined by principal cast members Daveed Diggs, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Jonathan Groff, Christopher Jackson, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Leslie Odom, Jr., Okieriete Onaodowan, and Phillipa Soo. But Anthony Ramos, who played the dual roles of Philip Hamilton and John Laurens in the production, wasn't given a main part in the performance — and fans were quick to notice. 'Sooooo, did I just miss it or why didn't Anthony Ramos get a stand out moment??? Fairly certain that his dual role deserved it??' one fan wrote. 'They had Anthony Ramos as a stand in lol only person without a solo during the performance,' another said. 'Lowkey salty Anthony Ramos didn't get a solo but it was still amazing,' another wrote. 'Anthony Ramos actually showing up for the Hamilton performance just to be constantly cut out of frame and the only man with a main role without a solo… omg,' a fourth reacted. Ramos was part of the Broadway company of Hamilton from its 2015 opening until November 2016. He went on to star in the film adaptation of Miranda's other hit musical, In The Heights. Fans originally believed Ramos wasn't onstage at all during the Tonys performance. He was seen in the audience earlier in the broadcast, but because he wasn't given a moment in the spotlight like the other principal cast members, many missed his presence completely. Ramos's name was not included in a May 29 press release announcing the performance. It's not clear when he joined the reunion lineup. The original cast reunited to celebrate the hit musical's tenth anniversary on Broadway. Hamilton received a record-breaking 16 Tony nominations in 2016 and ultimately won 11 awards, including Best Musical. Rounding out the ensemble of the Hamilton company were Carleigh Bettiol, Andrew Chappelle, Ariana DeBose, Alysha Deslorieux, Sydney James Harcourt, Neil Haskell, Sasha Hutchings, Thayne Jasperson, Stephanie Klemons, Morgan Marcell, Javier Muñoz, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Jon Rua, Austin Smith, Seth Stewart, Betsy Struxness, Ephraim Sykes and Voltaire Wade-Greene. The cast performed a medley of songs from the production, including 'Non-Stop,' 'My Shot,' 'History Has Its Eyes on You,' and 'The Room Where It Happens.' Fans were thrilled with the overall performance, with many flocking to social media to share their thoughts. 'That Hamilton Medley with the ENTIRE original company just changed my life holy s***,' one fan wrote on X. 'Chills! This was incredible to watch the original cast of Hamilton perform together 10 years later!' another wrote. 'This just brought me so much joy omg just reignited my Hamilton obsession,' someone else shared. Several members of the original company appeared in other parts of the broadcast. Goldsberry, who won a Tony for her role as Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton, hosted the first part of the ceremony, The Tony Awards: Act One, on Pluto TV. Previous Tony winner Groff, nominated this year for his leading role in Just in Time, performed early on in the national broadcast, which began at 8 p.m. ET. Oscar winner DeBose presented the award for Leading Actor in a Musical, and Miranda awarded the Best Musical trophy. The full list of 2025 Tony winners can be found here.

The Catwoman star was on a panel alongside Christina Aguilera at a Bare It All event centering on women's health on Monday, where she explained that she wasn't properly educated about menopause, according to People magazine. 'I had no idea that I was in menopause at this time of my life,' Berry said. 'I was 54 years old, no doctor that I had had even mentioned the fact that I would enter into menopause,' she continued. 'So I had this unrealistic idea that maybe I would — OK, don't laugh — but maybe I would just skip it.' Berry explained that she started struggling with vaginal atrophy, which happens when a woman's estrogen level drops, after menopause, and is when the vagina becomes shorter, less elastic and drier, according to the Canadian Menopause Society. The timing wasn't ideal since she had just met her partner Van Hunt. RECOMMENDED VIDEO 'I was really afraid at that time that I would never enjoy that part of my femininity again and that I had lost that,' Berry admitted. She explained that she went 'down a rabbit hole' to try to figure out what was happening. 'If my doctor didn't recognize this as a symptom of menopause and nobody ever talked to me about menopause, I can only imagine that there are other women out there, probably millions of women, that know nothing whose doctors know equally nothing,' Berry continued. The X-Men actress has since founded her own women's wellness company, Respin Health, and collaborated with the CEOs of Joylux, a wellness company that offers women's intimate care products. 'They serviced my very first needs when I realized that I was in menopause, they helped me get my intimacy back and my sex life back,' she explained. Ultimately, Berry wants do normalize the topic of women's health, menopause and all the wonderful and not-so-wonderful things that come with being a woman. 'It takes being bold, talking about it, being loud about it, not being afraid to talk about it, not feeling shame, giving other women permission to talk about it,' she said. 'Talking about it with our partners, talking about it with our bosses at work, with our children, deciding that we're worth it, deciding that we have been overlooked for far too long, right?' Berry added: We can no longer be silent on this issue. It's a health issue. It's a human rights issue, and we need to fight for that.' NHL Celebrity Toronto Maple Leafs Music Editorial Cartoons

How Nicole Scherzinger's Hairstylist Created Her Slicked Updo Inspired by ‘Breakfast at Tiffany's' for the 2025 Tony Awards
Nicole Scherzinger had a triumphant night at the 78th annual Tony Awards on Sunday night at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The musical star took home the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance as Norma Desmond in the Broadway hit revival, 'Sunset Blvd.,' and she honored the monumental night with a hairdo equally as memorable. Styled by celebrity hair artist Dimitris Giannetos, Scherzinger's dark tresses were pulled firmly on top of her head in a sophisticated, slicked-back bun. Her ponytail was twisted into a crown, with absolutely no strands left behind. He said: 'I wanted to give Nicole a very sleek, glossy updo and create a 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' Audrey Hepburn-inspired vibe.' The multistep process of her completing her look began with Giannetos flat-ironing Scherzinger's hair before using the tool to add a few messy waves to give it 'body.' He used both the Moroccanoil Treatment Original smooth frizz hair oil and the Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Extra Strong to lock in the slick back. 'To finish, I sprayed Nicole's hair with Parfums de Marly Valaya Hair Perfume — an elegant floral, musky and woody scent to complement her look. It had all eyes on her and was the perfect finishing touch to her glamorous look,' Giannetos said. Rokael Lizama, makeup artist to both Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Kim Kardashian, was behind the on-stage performer's bronzy visage. Scherzinger's face was contoured and coated in a warm bronzer to match the shimmery sunset shadow on her eyes. Pink, brown and amber melted together on top of her lids with an iridescent white on her brow bone. Meanwhile, her lips were painted in fiery red to match her strapless sequin gown. Lizama used all Revlon ColorStay products. To start, Lizama prepped the actress' face with the Dieux Skin Ethereal Cleaning Oil and the Baptism Gel Cleanser. He then went in with the hydrating Instant Angel Moisturizer and the chilled Forever Eye Mask. In her teary-eyed acceptance speech, Scherzinger thanked the Tony Awards for making 'this little Hawaiian-Ukrainian-Filipino girl's dream come true.' 'Growing up, I always felt like I didn't belong, but you all have made me feel like I belong and I have come home at last. So if there is anyone who feels like they don't belong or your time hasn't come, don't give up. Just keep on giving and giving because the world needs your love and light more than ever,' she said. 5 Cringe-Worthy Moments from 2025 Tony Awards: Sound Fails, Awkward Ads and More
The 78th annual Tony Awards celebrated the best of Broadway's 2024-2025 season with dazzling performances, emotional speeches, and star-studded appearances. Hosted by Wicked star Cynthia Erivo, the ceremony at Radio City Music Hall featured standout moments from new musicals like Death Becomes Her and Maybe Happy Ending, as well as powerful revivals such as Gypsy and Sunset Boulevard. But not everything went smoothly. From technical glitches to off-key segments, a few moments left audiences cringing. Here's a look at the five worst moments from Broadway's biggest night. 1. Sound troubles disrupted the night The 78th Tony Awards had a few technical hiccups, especially when it came to sound. Several presenters, including Keanu Reeves and Charli D'Amelio, faced microphone problems during their segments. The broadcast audio levels were inconsistent, with many viewers noticing low or poorly mixed sound during musical performances. The issue was particularly clear during the opening number, Jonathan Groff's solo, and Nicole Scherzinger's performance from Sunset Boulevard. The sound issues distracted from otherwise strong moments and made some performances fall flat. 2. Darren Criss's tea promo fell flat Darren Criss, known for his Broadway and TV performances, tried to bring some energy to a backstage ad spot. While changing costumes, Criss promoted Pure Leaf tea in a short segment during the show. Though well-meaning, the moment felt out of place. Many viewers found the promo awkward. Instead of blending into the show, it disrupted the flow. Celebrity ad spots are not new, but this one didn't land with the audience. 3. Cynthia Erivo's cut-off song felt off Host Cynthia Erivo had the tough task of keeping the show moving, but her method to cut off long speeches raised some eyebrows. Instead of using background music, the show played a pre-recorded clip of Erivo singing Frank Sinatra's My Way when winners spoke too long. The moment felt awkward rather than funny. While it's common to gently play off winners, many felt this approach was 'cringe-inducing' and could have been handled with a softer instrumental tone. 4. Sarah Paulson's dress causes a mic glitch During her presenting moment, Sarah Paulson's dress brushed the microphone, causing a small sound interruption. She handled it with humor, saying, 'It's fine, it's fine. It's a man-eating dress.' Her co-presenter Jean Smart replied, 'You stole my joke,' to which Paulson responded, 'I did steal your joke.' The light-hearted moment was fun, but still added to the list of audio issues that plagued the night. 5. Sunset Boulevard team gave low-energy speeches When Sunset Boulevard won Best Revival of a Musical, director Jamie Lloyd and composer Andrew Lloyd Webber gave low-key acceptance speeches. Their calm tone felt flat compared to the high-energy atmosphere of the evening. It may have been their British style, but viewers expected more enthusiasm from one of the night's biggest wins. The speech didn't match the tension and excitement surrounding the Best Actress category, where Sunset Boulevard had a strong presence.
