OnePlus has a pleasant surprise in the works for its fans with low budgets
OnePlus Pad Lite | Image credit: 91mobiles @OnLeaks OnePlus introduced two high-tier devices in the last couple of weeks, the OnePlus 13s and OnePlus Pad 3. If you're a devoted OnePlus fan but can't afford either of the two devices, you'll be happy to know the Chinese company has a big surprise for customers with lower Pad Lite is an affordable tablet with premium design and solid specs. The folks at 91mobiles and Steve Hemmerstoffer ( OnLeaks ) put together several renders that show the upcoming tablet from different angles, as well as with its dedicated cover on. The Pad Lite doesn't look like OnePlus's latest slate, the Pad 3, but it does borrow most of its design traits from the other tablet the company introduced in the past. This makes perfect sense considering that the Pad Lite is supposed to be the child of OnePlus's previous entry-level tablet, the Pad Go. We also have OnePlus Pad Lite's dimensions in case you're curios: 254.9 x 166.5 x 7.4mm. The tablet weighs 539g, which makes it around the same weight as the OnePlus Pad Go, which weighs the Pad Lite offers some minimal upgrades over the Pad Go. For example, the slate is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G100 chipset, which is a tad more powerful than Pad Go's Helio G99. It's also worth mentioning the Pad Lite packs 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, but different storage options might be available at launch. OnePlus Pad Lite | Images credits: 91mobiles @OneLeaks As far as the camera goes, the Pad Lite got downgraded to dual 5-megapixel cameras, one on the front and one on the rear. In comparison, the Pad Go has an 8-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel selfie biggest upgrade over the Pad Go seems to be the battery. As some of you probably know already, OnePlus Pad Go is powered by an 8,000 mAh battery, but the Pad Lite will have a much bigger 9,340 mAh OnePlus Pad Lite is said to feature an 11-inch LCD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. This is slightly smaller than the Pad Go's 11.35-inch display, but that will probably not be as noticeable as the resolution, which is also lower. OnePlus Pad Lite will be available in Aero Blue color and will come with a folio cover. No information about the price is available yet, but we suspect this will be initially introduced in India for less than Rs 20,000 ($230 / €200).

Did Apple Just Accidentally Leak A Significant iPhone 17 Upgrade?
Updated June 10 with details of more iPhone 17 reports. A regulatory filing has just happened which, it's claimed, is for two iPhone MagSafe chargers, suggesting that a faster-than-ever wireless charging capability could be coming to the iPhone 17 series when it's announced this fall. However, this is set against a continuingly febrile news environment where rumors of the price of the next iPhones remains uncertain. More on that below. Will MagSafe charging be super-fast on the iPhone 17 series? Taiwan's National Communications Commission website shows two MagSafe chargers which Apple has never announced, sighted by 91mobiles. That seems to be the case because, 'Current MagSafe chargers are compatible with Qi 2 and the original Qi standard. While WPC (Wireless Power Consortium), the body behind Qi, incorporated MagSafe's magnetic accessory support into the Qi standard and introduced Qi 2.1, Apple didn't announce a product with that standard. Apple appears to have leapfrogged to Qi 2.2,' the report said. The site shows images of the chargers and says the model numbers are A3502 and A3503, looking the same but for one having a 1-meter cable, and the other a 2-meter one. The cables are braided, by the way, as the photos clearly show. Why does any of this matter? Qi 2.2 supports maximum output to 50W and, ccording to the report, it looks like the chargers will support up to 45W charging, when connected to the right wall adaptor. Right now, the most powerful MagSafe wireless charging for the latest iPhone 16 is 25W. More than that, another benefit for Qi 2.2 it's more efficient, with less power loss or heat generation. Plus, the magnetic alignment 'should ensure the device snaps into the charger quickly and properly,' the report said. Since the iPhone 17 Air looks like having a smaller battery than other iPhones, to accommodate its super-thin design, fast, efficient charging without unnecessary heat, could be important, especially if it meant that a super-quick top-up could juice your phone for hours. It looks like the chargers have been tested both with the iPhone 16 and iPhone 11. This wouldn't mean faster charging rates on older phones, but the efficiency element would still be key. As for the price of the iPhone 17 series, there's no certainty. More reports are suggesting that price hikes, caused by government tariffs, are increasingly likely. The situation remains so fluid that we can't know. Apple CEO Tim Cook recently said that he thought tariffs would cost the company $900 million in the coming months — which suggests that at least some of any cost increases will be swallowed by Apple. But things are changing fast. If the tariffs are off again by September, Apple will sigh with relief. If not, or are increased, then the chance of Apple putting the prices up hoves into view. Last month, the Wall Street Journal reported that Apple has plans to raise prices this year, irrespective of tariffs. It's claimed that such increases will not be blamed on tariffs, but suggested by improvements to the now, it's hard to know how much that might mean.

Leaked MagSafe Charger Suggests iPhone 17 Could Boast Twice the Charging Speed
It looks like iPhones, including the expected iPhone 17, could get a big boost from an upgrade to their wireless MagSafe chargers. According to a report by 91mobiles, a recent image of Apple MagSafe chargers showed model numbers that support the Qi 2.2 charging standard. 91mobiles spotted the photos on Taiwan's National Communications Commission website. The NCC is the regulatory body that verifies devices for telecom products. Qi standard is set by the Wireless Power Consortium, consisting of hundreds of companies like Apple, Samsung and Google. In a post to X, 91mobiles shared a rendering of what the new charger could look like: If the rumors are true, it would mean Apple is jumping from its current Qi 2.0, which supports up to 15W wireless charging. The iPhone 16 series, except for the 16E, supports 25W wireless charging with a new MagSafe charger and power brick that Apple rolled out last year. The Qi 2.2 standard supports speeds of 50W, according to 91mobiles. That kind of increase in charging would be impressive, although outside the US, a lot of Chinese phones -- like those from Xiaomi, Oppo and OnePlus -- support 80W to 100W wireless charging. Qi 2.2 could also improve magnetic alignment, so your iPhone snaps to the charger correctly and quickly. That could potentially improve charging efficiency and reduce heat generation. And for those of us who want to hold onto our old phones instead of upgrading to the new iPhone, Qi 2.2 promises backward compatibility to as far back as the iPhone 11. The report comes just days ahead of Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference, at which the company provides updates about its latest software for iPhones and other devices. (Here's how to watch the WWDC 2025 keynote.) The company typically unveils its new iPhone lineup in September. Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
