Patsy Palmer Speaks Out About Her 'Awkward' Reaction To Mickey Rourke Questions

Patsy Palmer has reflected on her reluctance to discuss her time living with Mickey Rourke in the Celebrity Big Brother house. The EastEnders legend spent just under a week living under the same roof as the Oscar nominee, after which he was asked to leave the show due to repeated inappropriate comments. During their time in the CBB house, viewers saw Mickey upset Patsy after insulting a meal that she cooked for the rest of the group, which left her crying in private. She also voiced her disapproval when he made sexual comments towards fellow housemate Ella Rae Wise, which producers said contributed to his removal from the house. After her eviction earlier this week, Patsy was asked by presenters Will Best and AJ Odudu on spin-off show Late & Live about the moment Mickey complained about her food, which was met with a stony silence. 'You don't want to talk about the broccoli…' Will continued, to which she simply shook her head. — sᴜᴘᴇʀ ᴛᴠ (@supermedia247) April 22, 2025 Pasty was similarly uninterested in talking about Mickey during an interview on Thursday's edition of Lorraine. When host Lorraine Kelly brought up the 9½ Weeks actor's 'very early' and 'quick' exit, Patsy remained silent, offering a simple 'yeah' before the conversation moved on. The soap veteran later shared an Instagram story post, accompanied by Simon & Garfunkel's The Sound Of Silence, which read: 'There's nothing awkward about silence. It says it all!' She followed that with a graphic of the slogan: 'If you can't be kind, be quiet.' Mickey's stint in CBB was marred in controversy from the beginning, after he was criticised by viewers for touching and eyeing up AJ Odudu on his way into the house, and hit with a formal warning from producers over his use of homophobic language just days into the series. He was eventually asked to leave the house after five days following an aggressive confrontation with Chris Hughes, and his use of 'inappropriate sexual language' towards Ella Rae Wise. Mickey Rourke Is Considering Taking Legal Action Against "CBB", His Team Claims

Mickey Rourke is considering legal action after his recent stint in the Celebrity Big Brother house, his management has said. The Oscar nominee spent just under a week in the CBB compound last week, during which time he landed himself at the centre of several controversies. After he was criticised for touching and eyeing up presenter AJ Odudu on his way into the house, he was later reprimanded and hit with a formal warning from producers over his use of homophobic language. He was eventually asked to leave the house on Saturday after an aggressive confrontation with Chris Hughes, and his use of 'inappropriate sexual language' towards Ella Rae Wise. It's since been reported by The Sun that because of his impromptu exit, the 9½ Weeks star will receive only a fraction of his rumoured £500K fee for his appearance on CBB. On Wednesday, his representative told TMZ that he and lawyers in the UK are now 'weighing' a lawsuit against CBB broadcasters ITV. According to Mickey's team, the actor is being 'unjustly' denied his pay by ITV, alleging that producers deliberately ejected him at the time they did because had he lasted a day longer, he'd be entitled to more money. There's also apparently a dispute over hotels. Mickey's team is alleging that he was assured he could stay in swanky accommodation while he was in London for the reality show, but he was then informed while he was en route that he would only be covered for around £226 a night. This reportedly left him with a hefty bill as he'd apparently already arranged more expensive accommodation for himself and his team. HuffPost UK has contacted Celebrity Big Brother and Mickey Rourke's management team for comment. Mickey previously told bosses of his exit: 'I know it was my bad. I've got a short fuse and I know I upset a lot of people out there. And I'm sorry for that. I'm actually ashamed of myself for getting that [angry with Chris]. 'I went over the line, you know, I did wrong. I guess I'm a work in progress.'

Here's Why Mickey Rourke Was Asked To Leave Celebrity Big Brother After A Week Of Controversies

Mickey Rourke has officially left the Celebrity Big Brother house. A week ago, the Oscar nominee was unveiled as one of 13 new famous housemates in the ITV reality show, immediately raising eyebrows on his way into the house with his first of many controversies. Having already received a formal warning early on in his CBB stint, it was finally revealed he'd left the show on Saturday evening. This is the full story of Mickey Rourke's controversial time on Celebrity Big Brother… Mickey immediately caused controversy thanks to his behaviour towards host AJ Odudu on his way into the compound. Having already touched AJ without her consent, the presenter was forced to tell the actor to 'stop looking at me' when he continued to eye her up and down during their interview. Within a few days, Mickey was then given an official warning after fellow contestant Jojo Siwa accused him of making homophobic comments about her, including using the word 'fag'. 'Before you entered the Big Brother house the rules regarding unacceptable language and behaviour were explained to you,' he was later told by producers, before being issued with an official warning. Jojo initially tried to explain why she was upset, to which he claimed she was beating a 'dead horse', though he later apologised to her, insisting: 'I've got a habit of having a short fuse. And I don't mean nothing by it. I do mean it [sorry]. If I didn't, I wouldn't say it to you.' Later in the week, he also upset fellow housemates Donna Preston and Patsy Palmer with comments about the former's appearance and the latter's cooking skills. Mickey was finally shown the door on Saturday following an aggressive confrontation with former Love Island contestant Chris Hughes. A statement released on Saturday from ITV explained: 'Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour.' Mickey's exit – and the events leading up to it – were then shown as part of Sunday night's highlights show. Things quickly escalated in the house during a pirate-themed task in which Mickey was required to stand in line with several other members of the group. When Trisha Goddard claimed there was a 'rat' among them, Chris then gestured to Mickey with his eyes, prompting the actor to tell him: 'Don't eyeball me.' As things quickly grew out of hand, including Mickey branding Chris a 'cunt' and telling him 'your ass will be right there in a second', the 9½ Weeks star was then pulled into the Diary Room by producers to remove him from the situation. While he and Chris later made amends, the rest of the group remained rattled by the incident, and later in the day, Mickey was again asked to speak with producers. There, he was told: 'Earlier today, in a disagreement with Chris, your language and behaviour was threatening and aggressive. Big Brother does not tolerate threatening language or behaviour. 'In addition, you have used inappropriate sexual language to Ella [Rae Wise]. This language has caused offence to your fellow housemates and could cause offence to the viewing public. 'This is not the first time Big Brother has had to speak to you about your offensive and inappropriate language.' Mickey responded: 'I did wrong, I apologise, I'm sorry, I can't take it back, I stepped over the line. And I take responsibility for doing the wrong thing. 'I lost my temper, and I've been trying to work on it my whole life. And I wish I would have had better self-control. I'm very sorry, and I'm ashamed of myself for losing it for a few seconds there. 'Nobody got touched or hurt – maybe some feelings got hurt, or maybe others have feelings about someone getting upset. I'm sorry about that.' The producer continued: 'Big Brother considers your language and behaviour today to be seriously unacceptable. As a result, Big Brother has no option but to ask you to leave the Big Brother house. Mickey, is there anything you'd like to say?' 'I blame myself,' Mickey then said. 'I know it was my bad. I've got a short fuse and I know I upset a lot of people out there. And I'm sorry for that. I'm actually ashamed of myself for getting that hot.' He added: 'I went over the line, you know, I did wrong. I guess I'm a work in progress. I just want to pack my bags and leave. I wanted to leave yesterday [in the eviction] but I wasn't chosen. But I'd like to leave now, actually.' Earlier that day, as part of the task, Ella told the group: 'We're not allowed in the bedroom, no one is allowed to touch the crisps or sweets.' Mickey claimed this wouldn't be a problem, to which she said: 'You've got to come with me.' 'Come in you?' he responded, leaving fellow housemates Patsy Palmer and Danny Beard shocked. Later in the day, she was seen breaking down in tears while recalling the incident to Chris after his own confrontation with Mickey. When Big Brother brought up Mickey's 'inappropriate sexual language' towards the reality star, he claimed: 'I'm not aware of that, but OK…' Early on in the series, it was reported that Mickey had been the highest-earner of this year's cast, apparently bagging £500K for his appearance on the show. Although this not been confirmed by ITV, The Sun reported on Sunday that while Mickey will still be paid for his time in the CBB house, he will not receive his full fee as a result of being asked to leave. ITV had no comment when contacted by HuffPost UK. Celebrity Big Brother airs nightly on ITV1 and ITVX. Mickey Rourke risks removal from Big Brother after homophobic comments to JoJo Siwa

Mickey Rourke has been issued a formal warning on Celebrity Big Brother UK 2025 for making "offensive and unacceptable" remarks to fellow housemate JoJo Siwa regarding her sexuality. The 72-year-old Oscar-nominated actor, known for roles in The Wrestler and 9½ Weeks, allegedly made homophobic comments to the 21-year-old singer and social media personality, prompting intervention from the show's producers. The incident unfolded after Rourke asked Siwa about her sexual orientation, to which she replied: 'Girls. My partner is non-binary.' Rourke responded with, 'If I stay longer than four days, you won't be gay anymore,' and later said, 'I'm going to vote the lesbian out real quick.' A further remark occurred when Rourke used the phrase 'I need a fag,' in reference to a cigarette, before gesturing toward Siwa and adding, 'I'm not talking to you.' Fellow contestant Chris Hughes called out the language, prompting Rourke to clarify his intended meaning. Rourke was then summoned to the Big Brother diary room, where producers told him his behavior was unacceptable and warned that further incidents could result in his removal from the show. Rourke issued an apology, saying: 'I don't have dishonourable intentions. I was just talking smack. I do mean it [the apology].' After rejoining the house, Rourke personally apologized to Siwa, who accepted his apology but emphasized the impact of his words: 'It's not an acceptable word.' The incident has drawn widespread attention on social media, with viewers debating both the nature of the remarks and the show's handling of the situation. Celebrity Big Brother airs on ITV, with Season 2025 featuring a diverse cast, including reality stars, actors, and influencers.
