Billie Eilish says she's working with James Cameron on some sort of 3D concert thing
Billie Eilish teased fans with a surprising collaboration at a concert in Manchester last night, revealing that there were more cameras in the arena than usual because she was working on a project 'with somebody named James Cameron, and it's going to be in 3D.' Noting (per Deadline) that Cameron was apparently somewhere in the audience for the show, Eilish said she couldn't reveal exact details about the project, but that it would involve the four-show run she's currently doing in the U.K. city, as part of Hit Me Hard And Soft: The Tour. The obvious assumption here, of course, is a concert film: Eilish did one for her second studio album, Happier Than Ever, back in 2021, tapping director Robert Rodriguez and Oscar-winner Patrick Osborne for a film that blended live-action and animation. She wouldn't be the first major artist to do a concert film in 3D, either—U2, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, and many others have pulled the trick. But getting Cameron on board would certainly lend the project some clout, and possibly some technical spark. The big question mark here, obviously, is the man himself; he's never done a concert film, and if he's a big fan of Eilish's work, we can't find any interviews to that effect. (The pair have never worked together professionally, possibly because Eilish doesn't sing in Na'vi.) A full concert film would also run into the fact that Cameron is insanely busy, what with all those Avatars he's still in the process of making (Fire And Ash! Out December 19!) as well as the Hiroshima movie he keeps reminding people he's going to film. If someone was going to do something insanely technically complicated in terms of realizing a concert film, though we certainly wouldn't put it past the man. (We haven't been to this tour; does Eilish go very deep under the water at any point?) But for now, it's not clear what exactly she and Cameron are cooking up together, or on what scale. Actor and comedian Seth Rogen recalled the last time he auditioned for a role in 'Gigli' that would have ended his career. 'Gigli' is a 2003 American romantic comedy crime film written, co-produced, and directed by Martin Brest, and starring Ben Affleck , Jennifer Lopez , Justin Bartha , Al Pacino, Christopher Walken, and Lainie Kazan. Seth Rogen opened up about his audition for 2003's Gigli and why he's glad the tape of his work is seemingly gone. Rogen auditioned for the role of a "boy with a cognitive disability" in the Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez film. The part ultimately went to Justin Bartha and the film became a notorious critical and commercial flop, reported People. He appeared on the recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and shared, "It has been a long time," adding, "And man, honestly thank God it was mostly physical VHS tapes and stuff like that that was being used when I was auditioning for things, because the things I auditioned for, in retrospect, if they were out there in the world, it would end my career very, very fast, I believe," reported People. "Well, there's a movie called Gigli ... that stars Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez and in the film, they're assassins or something like that," he said. The 2003 romantic crime drama was a notorious critical and commercial flop. "In Gigli, they're assassins who are sent to watch over a boy who -- and this was not the words they used at the time - but had a cognitive disability, let's say," Rogen continued. "And so I, as an aspiring young actor ... I auditioned for this boy with a cognitive disability and I don't think the script was written in what, by today's standards, would be the most sensitive portrayal of a boy with a cognitive disability," reported People. Rogen, who at the time had starred in the TV series Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared, also said that he "didn't get a lot of auditions," and he knew the movie was being helmed by "great director," Martin Brest, who had done Beverly Hills Cop and and Midnight Run. "I don't think I wore a helmet into the audition itself, but it was at play," Rogen said. "And I'm tempted to do an impression of what I did, but I can't even do it! I can't! That's how bad it was! It's so bad I dare not even portray what I did in this audition, because I went for it. I saw myself at the Oscars." "And truthfully if that tape was out in the world today, this would be the last interview you ever saw me do, other than my apology tour," he said. The role Rogen auditioned for, Brian, was ultimately played by Justin Bartha. The A.V. Club wrote in a 2021 article in which they revisited Gigli, "Pretty much everything about the depiction of Brian's disability falls into the 'oh no' category," reported People.

Yoga Day at NMPA with week-long activities
Mangaluru: The New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) will observe the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) with a series of yoga-themed programmes under the banner 'Yoga Sangam – 2025.' A mass yoga practice session, involving port officers, employees, and their families, will be held at the BDC Building Hall. The event will be inaugurated by Dr A.V. Ramana, Chairman of NMPA. In the lead-up to the main event on June 21, the port has already conducted a range of wellness activities across its departments. These include Y-Break yoga sessions during work hours, regular morning and evening yoga routines, and a special workshop on Yogic Lifestyle and Relaxation Techniques. The initiatives have seen enthusiastic participation from staff, reflecting growing interest in adopting yoga for physical and mental well-being. As part of its outreach efforts, NMPA also extended yoga sessions to vessel crews onboard ships and held tailored sessions for school and college students in the region. By integrating yoga into workplace routines and community programmes, the Port Authority aims to foster a culture of holistic health and well-being among its employees and the larger port community.

Tom Cruise gets into Guinness for doing thing only Tom Cruise would want to do
Let's be clear, from the jump: The publishers of the Guinness World Records have made it fairly obvious, over the years, that they're pretty comfortable accommodating movie studios who want to tout a broken record when promoting a film. Do something impressive from a technical point of view—like the pyrotechnics surrounding some of the Bond films, to pick an example that got the nod in recent years—and the record book makers will be perfectly happy to say, 'Yup, that's a record.' So, on the one hand, is it a little silly for Paramount to make a big deal out of the fact that Tom Cruise broke the world record for most times jumping out of a plane and setting his own parachute on fire while making Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning? Sure. But also: Man did jump out of a plane with a burning parachute an (apparently) record 16 times. You can watch and count 'em yourself, if so inclined: The promotional team for the movie released a video of the stunt to YouTube today, showing Cruise talking through it with his team as they carefully douse his parachute in fuel for the 16 different attempts. Cruise's 'I do my own stunts' thing is easy to laugh off, given what a self-mythologizing detail of his whole persona it can be. But it's hard to watch the guy get flipped around in the air, god knows how high up, with nothing but a burnt-to-cinders parachute holding him up, and not think, 'Okay, that's probably worthy of a couple of lines in a book somewhere.' Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning is currently in theaters; spoilers for the above video, but Cruise did not in fact burn up, hit the ground, and then die while in the process of making it. Chet Hanks dragged his dad into a Forrest Gump parody music video
Do you get credit for taking much longer to do something crappy that everyone was kind of expecting you to do immediately? This philosophical brainteaser tickles our noggins today courtesy of musician Chet Hanks, who has finally cashed in his 'Did you know my dad is Tom Hanks?' tokens in bulk, releasing a music video this weekend in which he recreates famous moments from Forrest Gump while his father sits on a bench near him, looking some mixture of uncomfortable and proud. Hanks (known to the deep lore divers as Chet Haze) released the video as part of his group Something Out West, which, we are picking up from context clues, is now a country band. (Hanks has had a long, illustrious wander through the White Boy Summer world of rap, pop, and other genres over the years. Also the worlds of vaccine denial and at least one allegation of domestic violence. There are many worlds, in the universe of Chet Hanks.) The song in question, titled 'You Better Run,' would be generically inoffensive, if not for the fact that its video is absolutely stuffed with Forrest Gump references, with the younger Hanks—setting up an implicit charisma comparison that we would not subject ourselves to in a million years—in the place of his father. Who then pops up halfway through, in a bit of a reveal, mugging for the camera in ways that look like they're trying to short circuit the natural instinct to say 'Does Tom Hanks really love his son this much?' We'll be honest: This is one of those things where we're sharing it at least in part to spread around the pain; having viewed the video a few times ourselves, we now need it to exist in other people's memories, too.
