Emergency services were called to the A44 tragedy in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, at around 3.20pm on Wednesday July 9. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up Officers discovered a grey Audi A3, grey Jaguar XE, black Ford Puma and grey Seat Leon were all involved with the pile-up near Enstone. Paramedics rushed a woman, aged in her 70s, to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Cops confirmed she sadly passed away today, and her family are being supported by specialist officers. The driver of the Ford, an 85-year-old man, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. A man behind the wheel of the Jaguar, aged in his 60s, is still fighting for his life in serious condition. Thames Valley Police confirmed no arrests have been made. Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Lyndsey Blackaby, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, added: 'Tragically, a second person has now died following this collision. 'Our thoughts are with her loved ones at this extremely difficult time and we have specially-trained officers supporting her family. 'If anyone witnessed the incident, has dash-camera footage or any information to assist our investigation, please get in touch. Tributes have been paid to a woman who has died 18 months after her six-year-old son was killed in a crash.A man was jailed for 18 years for causing the deaths of Leo Painter and two women in a collision on the A44 near Worcester while under the influence of alcohol and drugs.A GoFundMe page created this month, which has raised more than £2,800, said Leo's mother Gemma died on 30 June this year. A family social media tribute shared on the page said: "I hope you have found that peace now that I know you were so desperate for." The tribute also said: "I'm absolutely heartbroken but I know you just couldn't stay without Leo, he needed you more. "Go and find your little boy and play together for eternity.. I'm sure he was waiting at those pearly gates for you.. no one can ever separate you again."I will always treasure our times together and the memories we made." Courtney Hemming, 26, and Claire Adkins, 39, died at the scene of the crash in February 2024, and Leo passed away shortly after arriving at hospitalJoe-Lewis Tyler, of no fixed address, had been driving a BMW 3 Series on 22 February at about 90mph in a 50mph area on a wet admitted three counts of causing death by dangerous driving and was jailed in August last sentence also accounted for his pleading guilty to one count of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and three counts of causing death whilst driving without he drove down the A44, he crashed into a white Ford Mondeo carrying the victims, who had just left Leo's school, Abigail's Place. An 85-year-old man has died and two other people are in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash involving four cars. A grey Audi A3, a grey Jaguar XE, a black Ford Puma and a grey Seat Leon were all involved in the collision, which occurred on the A44 between Enstone and London Road in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, at around 3.20pm on Wednesday, Thames Valley Police (TVP) said. The elderly man, who was driving the Ford car, died at the scene. A woman in her 70s, who was a passenger in the car, and the driver of the Audi suffered life-threatening injuries from the incident. Both remain in hospital, the force said. The Jaguar driver, a man in his 60s, was treated in hospital for minor injuries but has since been discharged. TVP investigating officer Detective Sergeant Lyndsey Blackaby said: 'Our thoughts are with their loved ones at this extremely difficult time and we have specially-trained officers supporting the deceased man's family. 'I am appealing for anyone who saw the collision to contact us. I am also appealing for anyone with a dash-camera who was driving in the area at the time to check their recordings and let us know if they captured anything that could help our investigation.' A 95-year-old pedestrian has died after being hit by a car whilst crossing a man had been crossing Oxford Street in Woodstock at about 17:50 BST on Monday when he was involved in a collision with a blue Jaguar Valley Police said the man had been taken to hospital in a serious condition following the incident, and died on Tuesday force said it had made no arrests in connection with the incident, and urged potential witnesses to share any information they may have. Insp Dave Wise said the road had seen a "disproportionately high number of serious collisions" in recent had been a high number of complaints about speeding, antisocial riding and noise, often linked to motorcyclists, he had stepped up enforcement and education, he said."One recent measure involves issuing warnings to individuals whose promotion of events or presence at Fish Hill may encourage unlawful or risky riding and associated anti-social behaviour or nuisance," he added.
