PUTRAJAYA: Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Baharu Lanjut in Sepang has been granted RM100,000 by Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia (AKM) as part of the MADANI Adopted School initiative. The funding aims to enhance digital learning, refurbish facilities, and support student development programmes. The handover ceremony was led by AKM director-general Datuk Dr Roslan Hussin, with teachers, parents, and students in attendance. Roslan emphasised that the contribution is more than financial aid—it's a strategic investment in Malaysia's future. 'This is a public trust to foster a better learning environment. SK Baharu Lanjut was chosen due to its potential to nurture excellent students aligned with MADANI values,' he said. As one of the pilot schools under the programme, SK Baharu Lanjut will receive infrastructure upgrades, academic support, teacher training, and welfare initiatives. Headmaster Herman Mahamad Gapar expressed gratitude, stating that the funding will uplift both student performance and teacher morale. 'This support motivates us to maintain high-quality education,' Herman added. The MADANI Adopted School programme, led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and managed by the Finance and Education Ministries, connects well-resourced organisations with schools in need, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas. Portland's Campfire Audio has announced a premium and portable hi-fi solution in the form of its new Relay DAC/AMP. With its flexible features, Campfire Audio says the Relay has enough power to drive high-end headphones. 'Relay is the culmination of an exhaustive and expansive search for the best sonic qualities, form factor, and functionality possible to meet the demands of modern, portable hi-fi,' explains Ken Ball, founder and lead acoustic designer at Campfire. Ball added, 'We hope that it gives users the high level of performance they expect from bulkier devices, with the flexibility of variable parameters and the convenience of a compact, robust form factor.' The Relay DAC/AMP has both 3.5mm single ended and balanced 4.4mm outputs. The new Relay DAC/AMP uses AKM's powerful 4493 SEQ DAC chip housed in a precision-machined and lightweight aluminum housing. The AKM 4493 chip was selected by Ball, following an extensive evaluation process, for its technical prowess and engaging sound. Ball says the chip imparts just the right amount of color and a touch of a classic analog sound signature. The new DAC/AMP includes a range of features that help the user dial in performance and integrate the Relay into their portable hi-fi setup. There is USB-C connectivity and the Relay is compatible with Windows, MacOS, iOS and Android platforms. The Campfire Audio Relay uses the AKM 4493 SEQ DAC chip. The Relay can be paired with a wide range of devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops or gaming PCs. Fitted with both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced outputs, users can choose to use the output that best matches their earphones or headphones. The Relay's sonic performance is boosted by customizable parameters, which include selectable high/low gain, six filter modes and variable bit rates up to 32-bit / 768kHz. With both PCM and DSD playback, a precise, 60-step built-in volume control and built-in media playback controls, users can customize the sound to suit their tastes. Rounding off the Relay's talents is a range of accessories, including a usefully short 6cm USB-C-to-USB-C cable, a microfiber cleaning cloth, plus a black cushioned Ripstop bag. The FiiO K15 is a DAC, headphone amp and streamer, and while it's aimed at audiophiles it's priced very competitively – under £500. The K15 is based around dual AKM AK4497S DAC chips, which are part of AKM's new "velvet sound" series. It is one of the first audio products in the world to implement these chips in a dual-DAC configuration, and FiiO says that they deliver an "organic, immersive sound signature". I like the styling of this desktop DAC: it's a nice mix of old and new. It's not wallowing in nostalgia, but definitely takes some design cues from classic Hi-Fi kit – its controls are strongly reminiscent of some of the hardware I loved in the 1980s, for example. On the front there's a 3.93-inch colour touchscreen and some nice, tactile rotary knobs, and the obligatory app provides additional features, including a 10-band parametric EQ. The FiiO K15 comes with a powerful Class AB headphone amp that can put out up to 3,000mW per channel via its balanced output, which is more than enough to drive even the most demanding headphones. The K15's USB input supports 768kHz/32bit, DSD512 and MQA, and its Bluetooth module supports LDAC, aptX HD and AAC. The K15 is both AirPlay compatible and Roon Ready, and it also supports local playback via USB storage. It has both single-ended and balanced analogue inputs, while Wi-Fi is dual-band and there's also gigabit Ethernet. The internal power supply is a 30W AC unit, and the K15 also supports 12V DC input for external hardware. It has independent digital and analog power rails with a multi-stage analogue supply utilising multiple dropout regulators. This, FiiO says, guarantees a constant supply of ultra-clean current to each audio stage. The FiiO K15 will be demoed at CanJam London on 19 of July and will go on sale on 1 August 2025. The price is £499 / $549 / €599 (about AU$1,035).

There is a full complement of inputs and outputs at the rear of the FiiO K15 DAC and headphone amp. Precision Power The K15 has a high-efficiency 30W internal AC power supply but also supports 12V DC input for external linear power upgrades. It has independent digital and analog power rails with a multi-stage analog supply with multiple dropout regulators that guarantee a constant supply of clean current to each audio stage. A 3.93-inch color LCD touchscreen on the K15 front panel provides visual controls, while tactile knobs provide quick access to key functions. For hands-free operation, there's an infrared remote and the FiiO Control app enables the unit to be controlled remotely. With a choice of Gigabit Ethernet for lossless network streaming or 2.4G/5G dual-band Wi-Fi for wireless convenience, the K15 can remain connected with both stability and speed.
