Hardest Quiz Show Questions Would you know the answers to some of quizzing TV's hardest questions Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - Earlier this year, fans were left outraged after what they described as the "worst" question in the show's history. Host Jeremy Clarkson asked: 'From the 2000 awards ceremony onwards, the Best Actress Oscar has never been won by a woman whose surname begins with which one of these letters?' The multiple choice answers were between G, K, M and W. In the end, and with the £32,000 safe, player Glen had to make a guess and went for G. It turned out to be correct as Nicole Kidman, Frances McDormand and Kate Winslet are among the stars who have won the Best Actress gong since 2000. - Earlier this year, fans were left outraged after what they described as the "worst" question in the show's history. The query went as follows: "Edna's birthday is on the 6th of April and Jen's birthday falls on the 15th of October, therefore Amir's birthday must be the 'X' of January." It turns out the conundrum links the numbers with its position in the sentence, so 6th is the sixth word and 15th is the fifteenth word. Therefore, Amir's birthday is January 24th, corresponding to the 24th word in the sentence. - Viewers of Lee Mack's popular ITV show were left dumbfounded by a question that also left the players perplexed. Legendary magician Wayne Dobson dead aged 68
Wayne Dobson, the legendary magician who shot to fame in the 1980s, has died at the age of 68, his brother has confirmed. Magician Wayne Dobson, renowned for his razor-sharp wit and spectacular illusions, has passed away at the age of 68. His sibling broke the devastating news today, bringing to a close an extraordinary career that kicked off when Dobson became a member of the Leicester Magic Circle aged just 16 - making him the youngest person ever to achieve this feat. This early achievement signalled the start of a lifelong profession that would mesmerise audiences throughout the UK and further afield. Wayne's brother Phil Dobson shared the tragic announcement in an emotional statement. Phil penned: "It's with a broken heart that I share the news that my brother Wayne Dobson sadly passed away today. He was my best friend and I miss him already. RIP legend." His major breakthrough arrived after triumphing in the close-up competition at the International Brotherhood of Magicians British Ring Convention. This victory unlocked numerous opportunities, including a spot on the beloved children's show Blue Peter, which showcased his abilities to a wider viewership. Subsequently, Dobson's career flourished, establishing him as famous not just for his remarkable tricks but equally for his razor-sharp comedic timing, reports the Mirror. During the 1980s and 1990s, Dobson's profession soared to unprecedented levels as he embarked on tours across America supporting crooner Engelbert Humperdinck, and in 1989, he graced the stage at the esteemed Royal Variety Show. His performance was unforgettable, supported by heavyweight boxer Frank Bruno and sports commentator Harry Carpenter. He also presented his own television programme, Wayne Dobson, A Kind of Magic, establishing himself as a recognisable figure in British entertainment. In 1988, Dobson received a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS), a condition that could have brought many careers to a halt, yet he refused to allow the illness to control his life. Rather than being defeated, Dobson took on the role of ambassador for the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre, committing himself to increasing awareness and providing support. He carried on creating and performing magic, modifying his performances when necessary, and even made a return to live shows as recently as 2022 with a performance at Haslemere Hall in Surrey. Marvin Berglas, President of The Magic Circle, offered his condolences regarding Dobson's influence on the magic world. He said: "The magic fraternity worldwide, and our society in particular, mourn the loss of Wayne Dobson, one of the great magicians of the late 20th century. "Wayne, our honorary vice-president, wowed millions with his TV shows in the 80s and 90s and his unforgettable appearance on the Royal Variety Show with Frank Bruno and Harry Carpenter brought the house down. "He did not allow the onset of MS to stop his ever inquisitive mind devising, creating, and inventing tricks to the end. We will miss him." Heartfelt tributes from those who knew Dobson personally highlighted the profound sense of loss experienced throughout the magic community. Business partner Mike Sullivan penned: "It is with a broken heart that my buddy, business partner, and mentor Wayne Dobson passed away peacefully today."

Son of UK rock legend buys village pub and promises 'the royal treatment'
The new owner, a rock star in his own right, is the son of a member of one the biggest rock bands of all time The Shipwrights Arms, a picturesque riverside pub complete with its own jetty, has been purchased by a big-name rock star. The pub is now owned by none other than Rufus Taylor, the drummer and son of Queen legend Roger Taylor. Rufus, who has followed in his father's footsteps and carved out a successful career for himself touring with The Darkness, has bought the pub alongside his partner. The deal was reportedly backed by Roger himself, according to the property firm that facilitated the transaction. Rufus and his partner will be taking on the day-to-day running of the pub in Helford, Cornwall, aiming to inject new life into it whilst respecting its rich history. Roger Taylor, renowned as Queen's dynamic drummer and the creative force behind hits such as Radio Ga Ga, A Kind of Magic and These Are the Days of Our Lives, has strong ties to Cornwall. Born in King's Lynn, he was brought up in Cornwall and attended Truro School, and is now once again a local resident. He remains an ardent supporter of the region and, according to Cornwall Live, he's keeping a close and proud eye on the project. Speaking about the purchase, Rufus said: "The Shipwrights Arms has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. For me, it's home, and as everyone knows, an Englishman's home is his castle. Therefore, I plan to give it the royal treatment. "There's no need to reinvent the wheel as the Helford community, which I have always been proud to be a part of, already knows that The Shipwrights is the jewel in the crown of the most beautiful part of the country. Accordingly, any changes will be subtle as we continue the traditions of a convivial family-friendly atmosphere with fresh fish, great food, and music in a location blessed with natural beauty. I look forward to welcoming you all and raising a glass together." The Shipwrights Arms, listed for sale earlier this year, is celebrated as one of Cornwall's top spots for a beer garden. Cornwall Live recently praised the pub for its "stunning views over the Helford estuary", dubbing it a "really lovely place to enjoy a glass of wine in the sunshine". This 18th-century Grade II listed tavern blends classic allure with sea-inspired decor and modern comforts, boasting original features like exposed timber beams, flagstone slate flooring, and ancient stone walls. Inside, it serves up room for 92+ guests within its cosy bar and dining spaces, including newly designed luxury suites for overnight stays. Outside, staggered terraces seat more than 100 customers, offering unmatched panoramas of the Helford River. Jon Clyne, director at Charles Darrow, the agency that sealed the deal, said: "There was a significant push from locals to make sure The Shipwrights Arms not only changed ownership but did so by passing into responsible hands. With Rufus, his partner, and the support of Roger Taylor – a true local at heart – the pub is in safe (and very rhythmically talented) hands."

Abdelsalam Moussa & Hala Elkoussy spark up the Magic of Cinema in a Visual Experience in the framework of Cairo Photo Week
Cinematographer Abdelsalam Moussa is currently preparing to launch "a Kind of Magic" exhibition within the framework of Cairo Photo Week. It is organized by Photopia, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Tourism Promotion Authority, and the Ministry of Culture, in coordination with visual artist and film director, Hala Elkoussy, who is the longtime collaborator of Abdelsalam Moussa with several cinematic works to their credit, such as "East of Noon", which was screened in the Directors' Fortnight at the 77th Cannes International Film Festival. "A Kind of Magic", which will be held at Cairo Design District (CDD) at New Cairo between (6-18) May, is considered Abdelsalam Moussa's first solo exhibition after taking part in multiple group exhibitions. Moussa unleashes his own magic through a stunning visual experience based on a multi-screen immersive installation, displaying new visual narratives of scenes from his cinematic and television works. American Cinematographer, which is one of the most prominent and prestigious cinematography magazines in the world, ranked Moussa as one of the rising stars in the world for 2020. A cinematographer with a unique visual style, Moussa's credits include: "Muga Harra", "Embratoria Meem", "Harag we Marag", "Mussawer Qatil", "walad we bint", "Afraah El Qubba", "Dayye", "The Crime", and "Cactus Flower". Moussa mentioned that the title of the exhibition, "A Kind of Magic" was inspired by the words of late esteemed critic Magdy Eltayeb which highlight the extraordinary experience of cinema. Through a three screen and nine speaker installation, a new dramatic narrative is born for the characters of familiar cinematic and television works. Director Elkoussy took her inspiration for the exhibition from the words of late esteemed critic Magdy Eltayeb; "Abdelsalam Moussa seems to have replaced the camera with a magic staff, transforming the screen—whether small or large—into a world charged with magic, beauty, and awe". The characters that Moussa illuminated for the most prominent filmmakers in Egypt and abroad converge in a new realm; the magic world of Abdelsalam Moussa. In a medley of sunrise, sunset, full moon, stage lights, candle flames and raging fires, they come to life, and in the shadows, they whisper about the essence beyond the surface, in an ethereal cinematic experience that unfolds uniquely for every viewer. Abdalrahman Mahmoud created the sound for the installation, Hala Elkoussy and Adham Yehia edited the videos and post-production was undergone at Vivid Studios. Photopia's founder and executive director, Marwa Abu Leila, stated, "Cairo Photo Week focuses on celebrating exceptional artistic experiences. In 'a Kind of Magic' exhibition, director of photography Abdelsalam Moussa presents an artistic experience that highlights how the camera lens carries a whole life and how a single character can get out of the usual framework through the synchronized display across three screens into another realm and present a novel and integrated idea. It is noteworthy that the fourth Cairo Photo Week, held between (8-18) May under the title "Discovering the Scene", includes over 20 individual and collective exhibitions for professional local and international photographers and cinematographers. They also include international institutions, such as World Press Photo, Vogue, National Geographic, and Getty Images, in 14 locations cultural centers in Downtown. Furthermore, Cairo Photo Week is to host over 100 discussion sessions, workshops, and live demos, with the participation of international experts and artists, in collaboration with multiple embassies, such as the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, France, Switzerland, and Denmark, along with the British Council and the European Union.
