Coffeeville woman killed in Choctaw County crash
CHOCTAW COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) – A woman from Coffeeville is dead after an early morning crash Sunday. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, 35-year-old Chrishundra Gilmore from Coffeeville was driving a pickup truck on Blue Dirt Road when her vehicle left the roadway and hit several trees. Troopers say it was a 2007 Ford F-150. ALEA says Gilmore was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene. Troopers say the crash occurred at approximately 12:20 a.m. on Sunday. Tuscaloosa man killed in weekend crash on Keenes Mill Road
A 22-year-old Tuscaloosa man died June 21 in single-vehicle crash about six miles east of the city of Tuscaloosa, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Marcos Morales was driving a 2018 Ford F150 on Keenes Mill Road near Hurricane Road around 11 p.m. when his vehicle left the road. Morales' vehicle struck an embankment and hit a tree before catching fire, troopers said. He was ejected from the Ford F150 and pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers with ALEA's Highway Patrol Division are continuing an investigation into the crash. Canal Road to close for bridge work in Gulf Shores
GULF SHORES, Ala. (WKRG) — A portion of Canal Road in Gulf Shores will close temporarily as work is done on the new Intracoastal Waterway Bridge. The road will be closed for three days beginning at 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, and continuing until 6 p.m. June 26, the release said. The closure will enable crews to safely install large bridge girders over the roadway. Detour signs will direct drivers to County Road 4 (Cotton Creek Drive) as an alternate route. 'This work marks another key step toward completing the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge,' the release said. A young family in Alabama is grieving after a devastating boat accident led to the death of 27-year-old Brittney Sherman. Sherman, of Wilmer, Alabama, was boating in Bayou Sara near Saraland in Mobile County on June 15 along with her husband, 30-year-old Cody Sherman, and the couple's four children. Authorities said the incident involved a 20-foot Avid Center Console vessel occupied by the Sherman family and a 26-foot Regulator Center Console. According to officials, the impact of the collision caused Brittney to be thrown overboard. Despite the swift arrival of emergency crews, search efforts were hampered by the bayou's murky waters, making it difficult to locate Sherman in the aftermath of the crash.
