2025 NFL Odds: Can Allen, Jackson Or Mahomes Win MVP, Super Bowl?
Only 11 players in NFL history have won both AP MVP and the Super Bowl in the same season. The list includes Bart Starr, Terry Bradshaw, Mark Moseley, Lawrence Taylor, Joe Montana, Emmitt Smith, Steve Young, Brett Favre, Terrell Davis, Kurt Warner and most recently, Patrick Mahomes. While Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen recently secured the MVP honor, he did not win the Super Bowl, after his Bills lost in the AFC title game last season. Allen received 27 first-place votes to Lamar Jackson's 23. Can the feat be accomplished for a 12th time this upcoming season? Here are the early odds for winning next year's MVP and the Super Bowl as of July 8 at DraftKings Sportsbook. 2025-26 NFL MVP Award and Super Bowl winner odds Josh Allen MVP, Bills Super Bowl: +2000 (bet $10 to win $210 total) Lamar Jackson MVP, Ravens Super Bowl: +2000 (bet $10 to win $210 total) Patrick Mahomes MVP, Chiefs Super Bowl: +3500 (bet $10 to win $360 total) Jalen Hurts MVP, Eagles Super Bowl: +6000 (bet $10 to win $610 total) Jayden Daniels MVP, Commanders Super Bowl: +6000 (bet $10 to win $610 total) Joe Burrow MVP, Bengals Super Bowl: +6000 (bet $10 to win $610 total) Jared Goff MVP, Lions Super Bowl: +15000 (bet $10 to win $1,510 total) Justin Herbert MVP, Chargers Super Bowl: +18000 (bet $10 to win $1,810 total) Saquon Barkley MVP, Eagles Super Bowl: +20000 (bet $10 to win $2,010 total) Derrick Henry MVP, Ravens Super Bowl: +20000 (bet $10 to win $2,010 total) Mahomes made history in the 2022 season by becoming the first player this century to win MVP and a Super Bowl in the same year. That season, Mahomes also became the 10th player in NFL history to repeat as MVP and the seventh player to win regular-season MVP, Super Bowl MVP and the Super Bowl in the same season. Currently, with +3500 odds, Mahomes and the Chiefs are second on the oddsboard. Following K.C. are Jalen Hurts and the Eagles at +6000 odds, after their Super Bowl win over the Chiefs just last season. Hurts was named Super Bowl MVP at the conclusion of the season. The first two non-quarterbacks to crack the oddsboard are Saquon Barkley (+20000) and Derrick Henry (+20000). Emmitt Smith is the only running back to have won both the MVP award and the Super Bowl. He achieved this in 1993 when he helped lead the Dallas Cowboys to victory in Super Bowl XXVIII. Want great stories delivered right to your inbox? New QB ranking further validates Lamar Jackson's elite status
New ranking puts Lamar Jackson among the NFL's top three quarterbacks. It's often said that this is a quarterback's league, and there's a reason for that. The impressive statistics these individuals achieve each year underscore their pivotal role in the game's evolution. Lamar Jackson, in particular, is celebrated as one of the most exciting players in football. The Baltimore Ravens star has already won two AP MVP trophies, showcasing his remarkable talent and impact on the field. Last season, Jackson took his already elite play to another level, leading all NFL quarterbacks in passer rating (119.6) and QBR (77.3). He threw for 4,172 yards while tossing 41 touchdowns vs. only four interceptions. He picked up 915 additional yards and another four touchdowns with his legs. Lamar entered the 2024 NFL season already having earned two First-Team All-Pro nods and three Pro Bowl mentions. He added one more of each for his trouble, so the question we ask every year is simple. How does he rank vs. his peers playing the same position? We're glad you asked. One of the more well-known NFL platforms recently tried to answer that question. Lamar Jackson lands third on FOX Sports' ranking of the top ten NFL quarterbacks As we turn the page from June to July, FOX Sports ranked the top ten NFL quarterbacks. Lamar Jackson landed third, but a misprint may have stated what most are already thinking. FOX mistakenly calls him "the defending NFL MVP", which he isn't, unless we're mentioning the trophy he won as the Pro Football Writers Association's Most Valuable Player, but FOX's statement says a lot. No disrespect to last year's winner, Josh Allen, but doesn't it seem like Jackson should have won the trophy? The only person we may have understood being ranked on his level would have been Saquon Barkley, but if last season didn't teach us anything else, it taught us this. Let's call it what it is. The NFL's MVP trophy is typically awarded to a quarterback. There aren't many in the game today who play the game at an equally elite level as 'Action' Jackson. Here's FOX's theory from their ranking. "Jackson, the defending NFL MVP, might be the most versatile quarterback on this list. What he lacks in accuracy, he makes up for in touchdown efficiency and rushing ability. He's led the NFL in touchdown percentage twice, posting an impressive 8.6% mark last season as he threw for a career-high 41 touchdowns. He's also led all quarterbacks in rushing yards the past two seasons and surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in 2019 and 2020. His one knock is that the Ravens have yet to appear in a Super Bowl with him as the starter." Jackson lands behind Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. The top ten is rounded out by Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, Jared Goff, Baker Mayfield, Justin Herbert, Jayden Daniels, and Dak Prescott. That's a nice list. Even though these types of discussions are always subjective, the only players at the QB position that we would tolerate being listed ahead of Lamar in terms of skill set are Allen and Mahomes, if we're being honest. That said, although it seems more feasible to place Allen behind Mahomes and Jackson, this list won't receive a ton of complaints on this platform, except to note that placing Dak Prescott in the top ten is worthy of discussion.

Should Lamar Jackson push for a fully guaranteed contract extension with the Ravens?
Documents from the landmark 61-page ruling conclude that the NFL encouraged collusion against Lamar Jackson, and the Ravens' quarterback was seeking a fully guaranteed contract in 2022 Lamar Jackson returned to the Under Armour Performance Center to take part in Baltimore's mandatory minicamp last week. The two-time AP MVP looked sharp, motivated, and happy to be back among his teammates. Jackson and the Ravens are in the midst of contract negotiations, and the star quarterback had no interest in discussing where those initial talks have led. Pro Football Talk and Pablo Torro revealed some information from The Landmark, 61-page ruling that found the NFL encouraged teams to collude against Jackson and others in 2022 when he requested a trade. Mike Florio, via those documents, reports that Jackson sought a fully guaranteed contract, and the Ravens were prepared to enter the 2023 season without their quarterback before his about-face from a trade request. The document also explains that Jackson wanted a fully-guaranteed contract. Before the 2022 season, Jackson texted DeCosta: 'I'm going to continue to request a FULLY GUARANTEED contract I understand you all DON'T and that's fine.' After the 2022 season, with Jackson's five-year rookie contract completed, he again sought a fully-guaranteed contract. The Ravens offered two different three-year deals that the team 'considered' to be fully guaranteed. Jackson declined both offers and requested a trade. During March's NFL owners' meetings in Florida, head coach John Harbaugh confirmed that Jackson is due for a new deal that will once again make him the highest-paid player in NFL history. Former sports agent and CBS Sports lead analyst Joel Corry masterfully broke down the leverage Jackson again holds over the franchise with his 2026 and 2027 cap hits being unworkable for the organization. As Corry pointed out, Jackson just finished the second year of a five-year, $260 million contract signed with the Baltimore Ravens on May 4, 2023. Of this, $185 million is guaranteed, of which $135 million was fully guaranteed at signing. As of this article, Jackson is the 10th highest-paid quarterback in the NFL after Brock Purdy's new contract. Corry highlighted that based on recent trends with Dak Prescott and Josh Allen, Jackson can justify $65.5 million to $67 million per year" for a contract extension he signs in the coming months. With inflation and an adjustment for the 24.2% increase of the salary cap since he signed in 2023, Jackson could command upwards of $64.5 million per year.
