More info A royal commentator has said a touching moment between King Charles and Queen Camilla in Edinburgh shows 'how far they've come'. The royal couple were in Scotland for Holyrood Week, and attended St Giles' Cathedral on July 2 for the unveiling of a commemorative stone honouring the late Queen. The King and Queen seemed to experience some confusion about their positioning in a rare light-hearted moment, reports Gloucestershire Live. As Camilla looked uncertain about her placement, the couple quickly recognised the amusing nature of their predicament before finding their proper positions. During a recent instalment of the A Right Royal podcast, Sky News' royal correspondent Rhiannon Mills explained how she felt the moment highlighted "how far" the pair have progressed through the years, commenting: "They are such a good working partnership, and how far they've come since a couple of decades ago, and public perceptions of them and their relationship." She continued: "Whatever you want to say about them, they are this perfect partnership, and I think he gets great joy from being around her. They have a laugh." Holyrood Week, a long-standing royal tradition typically held in July, sees the monarch touring the country, visiting various locations to celebrate Scottish culture, achievement, and community. True to tradition, last week's series of events began with the King and Queen participating in the Ceremony of the Keys in the gardens of the Palace of Holyroodhouse. At the commencement of last Tuesday's (July 1) proceedings, Lord Provost of Edinburgh Robert Aldridge presented the keys on a red cushion, which King Charles touched, adhering to custom. Later, the King presided over an honours ceremony, bestowing awards upon notable figures such as Scotland's most decorated Olympian, Duncan Scott (OBE); double Paralympic swimming champion Stephen Clegg (MBE); and artist Barbara Rae (Damehood), at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

Royal Expert Reveals Why King Charles Is Struggling With "Delayed" William and Kate Milestone

Earlier this month, it was revealed that King Charles had decided to "postpone" a major milestone for Kate Middleton and Prince William. Now, a royal expert has opened up about the monarch's decision, elaborating on why Charles has yet to make Kate and William grantors of royal warrants. Certain members of the Royal Family are given the power to award royal warrants, essentially giving their seal of approval to brands and services. "A Royal Warrant of Appointment is a document that permits a company to use the Royal Arms in connection with its business," the Royal Family's official website explains. "It is granted for up to five years at a time as a mark of recognition for the ongoing supply of goods or services traded with and used by the Households of HM The King and HM The Queen." As for why Charles hasn't given Kate and William permission to award royal warrants, royal expert and author Robert Jobson said during an appearance on Hello! magazine's "A Right Royal" podcast, "There's been a delay. There's always a bit of a delay." Jobson continued, "Remember that we haven't seen a transition in the Crown for some time, so we've had to deal with The King and The Queen first. That's taken some time because they have to go through all sorts of stringent tests and I think that it will happen in due course, but it's just that we're going through The King and Queen first, and you don't just get awarded a royal warrant, it's a lot involved." Hello! magazine's royal editor, Emily Nash, said on the podcast, "There hasn't been a Princess of Wales who's been able to issue warrants for about a century, really. So it will be quite a change just from that respect anyway, as and when it happens." While the eventual appointment will be an important step for Prince William and Princess Kate, it's unlikely a "priority" for the couple right now, according to Hello! magazine's royal experts.

Meghan Markle Had the Same Specific Pregnancy Craving With Both Lilibet and Archie

While most pregnant women are eating pints of Ben & Jerry's ice cream and jars of pickles (or both, combined) up until their due dates, Meghan Markle's craving when she was pregnant apparently looked a little different than the norm. Over the weekend, the Duchess of Sussex and her husband, Prince Harry, had a double date night with singer Michael Bublé and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, at Vij's, an Indian restaurant in Vancouver. And it was there that Markle shared her former pregnancy craving that wasn't your stereotypical choice with the owner and head chef, Vikram Vij. 'Meghan said that during her pregnancy, she had eaten only Indian food and I told her it was the best thing for her," Vij shared with Hello!, adding that the Sussexes "are amazing, extremely beautiful, and very friendly." Meghan and Harry have two children together—a son, Archie, 5, and a daughter, Lilibet, 3. Markle and Harry are currently in Canada for the 2025 Invictus Games and left the kids at home. As for why they didn't bring Archie and Lilibet along for the big event, royal editor Emily Nash offered her opinion during a conversation with ITV royal journalist Lizzie Robinson on Hello! Magazine's A Right Royal podcast. "Given the fact that the children are able to live a much more private life than their example, because their roles are different," Nash explained. "I don't see why they would put them in that arena at this point." Robinson added, "They have sort of kept the children incredibly private. I know we saw snippets of them in the Netflix docuseries, but really, the children have lived an incredibly private life." Markle previously hinted that Archie and Lilibet wouldn't be present at this year's Invictus Games during an impromptu speech at the Family and Friends reception that took place ahead of the opening ceremony. "It is my entire pleasure and complete honor to introduce to the stage my husband, the father of our very sweet, excited children who are cheering you on from California, Prince Harry, founder of the Invictus Games, the Duke of Sussex," she said.
