AZ Martinez joins relief ops in Rizal for families affected by typhoons
AZ Martinez took time to lend a helping hand to those affected by the recent typhoons. On Instagram Monday, Sparkle GMA Artist Center uploaded photos of AZ taken at a relief donation drive in Montalban, Rizal. 'Beauty with a purpose,' Sparkle GMA Artist Center wrote in the caption. In the photos, AZ could be seen handing out relief bags to some residents. AZ was part of the Big Four of 'Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.' She and her duo River Joseph (AZVer) were named the fourth big placers. Following the onslaught of Tropical Cyclones Crising, Dante, Emong, and the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, a state of calamity was declared in 192 cities and municipalities, including the entire provinces of Cavite, Bataan, Pampanga, Rizal, Laguna, Oriental Mindoro, and Negros Occidental. On Monday morning, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported that the death toll has increased to 31, with most of the fatalities coming from Metro Manila. According to PAGASA on Monday, the Southwest Monsoon is expected to continue bringing rains over the Philippines. Team RAWR delights fans with fun TikTok videos
RAWR fans, your wishes have finally been granted! Ralph De Leon, AZ Martinez, Will Ashley, and River Joseph — dubbed as Team RAWR — came together for a couple of TikTok videos posted on Friday. On AZ's page, she shared a video of them doing the viral trend set to the song "Im So ATL" by Bankroll Ni. Her caption mentioned taho, referencing a comment by a netizen on X saying that she would eat taho if RAWR makes a TikTok together. Ralph had noticed the post and shared it on their broadcast channel previously. Ralph also posted a second TikTok of them dancing to the classic "Butterfly" by A fan commented, "10/10 walang tapon lahat may saltik," and Ralph replied, laughing, "TRUE." Team RAWR is one of the barkadas formed on "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition." All four friends made it to the PBB Big Four. AZ and River (AzVer) finished as the 4th big placers, while Ralph and Will (RaWi) finished as the 2nd big placers. The 20 housemates will reunite on August 10 for "The Big ColLOVE" at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Surfer 'pulled Malcolm-Jamal Warner's daughter to safety' as star drowned
Malcolm-Jamal Warner drowned on Sunday whilst swimming with his 8-year-old daughter in Costa Rica. The 54-year-old actor was pronounced dead while on a family holiday with his wife and daughter. Warner was best known for his role as Theo Huxtable in The Cosby Show, which ran through most of his early adulthood from 1984 to 1992. The police told ABC News that surfers saw the father and daughter struggling, so they dove straight in to help. One surfer was able to rescue Warner's daughter by pulling her on to his board and paddling her to shore. A volunteer lifeguard, Mike Geist, was able to pull Warner to the surface before dragging him to land to attempt resuscitation. Geist told AZ family: 'There were two doctors that were also here on vacation.' 'Between three of them, they were able to perform CPR for more than 30 minutes, probably more like 45 minutes, and unfortunately, it was not successful.' The surfers risked their own lives to help save the Suits alumni; however, it was reported yesterday that one injured surfer had been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment 'without complications.' Local police said that Warner drowned on a beach on Costa Rica's Caribbean coast after getting pulled under by a strong current in Limon province, Playa Cocles. His cause of death has been ruled as accidental asphyxiation by submersion. Despite Warner's conscious effort to keep his private life out of the spotlight, he previously took to Instagram to share photos expressing how much he loved his only child. Back in a 2021 Instagram post, the 90's star referred to his young daughter as his and his wife's 'mini us.' The late actor also shared a wholesome family video of him dancing with his daughter back in 2023, captioned: 'Yoooo! Y'all remember this? Man, time flies! I was playing this song in the car over the weekend and my baby didn't even remember it.' He went on to say, 'We used to play it all the time when she was 1. Had to go back and find this post to show her. I'm happy to say that this beautiful song is now back in rotation.' More Trending Warner enjoyed a successful career and has previously starred in Malcom & Eddie (1996-2000) and Reed Between the Lines (2011-2015). The star also set up a podcast alongside friends: Weusi Baraka and Candace Kelley. Not All Hood was launched in May 2024 and saw the trio speak on the different facets of the black community. The podcast shared an emotional tribute on their Instagram earlier this week: 'Malcolm didn't just host the conversation. He is the conversation. AZ Martinez wishes ex-BF Larkin Castor the best: 'I want to focus more on myself, career'
AZ Martinez revealed in "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" Wednesday that she has not been in contact with her ex-boyfriend, Larkin Castor, ever since she got out of Bahay ni Kuya. "Hindi na po kami nag-usap and right now focus talaga on what's ahead of me, but I wish him all the best talaga," she said. Tito Boy then brought up the letter that Larkin wrote for AZ while she was a housemate in "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition," adding that he was hoping she and Larkin would have the chance to talk after the show. AZ, for her part, admitted that she is not ready to speak to him. "Honestly, Tito Boy as of now, I'm not ready yet to talk, I wanna focus muna on... Like I'm not ready to talk to him, but I want to focus more on myself and career," she said. In Larkin's letter, he told AZ how proud he was of her and that he was watching her journey in "PBB." He also told her that he has not given up waiting for her, that she should be happy, and that he loves her. Days later, AZ wrote him a letter in response, telling him that she is finally letting him go. "Kung gusto niya pa rin maghintay Kuya, that's his choice na. Pero ayoko na po siya kontrolin, ayoko na siya pilitin, ayoko na siya habulin or guluhin pa Kuya. Kasi alam ko mas masasaktan, mas masisira lang siya if I leave him hanging," AZ had told Kuya in the confession room. AZ appeared on Wednesday's 'Fast Talk with Boy Abunda' alongside her PBB duo, River Joseph, and she was asked about the varying interpretations of Ralph's behavior towards her, with some saying that he was romantic towards AZ.
