Aamir Khan has proved once again why he's called Mr Perfectionist. His new film 'Sitaare Zameen Par' has worked wonders at the box office. The film has collected over Rs 94 crore in eight days. Aamir's bold move pays off? Aamir took a big risk by releasing 'Sitaare Zameen Par' only in cinemas, with no OTT plan. This gamble seems to have paid off. The film opened well and kept pulling people to theatres all week. Strong numbers in the first week According to Sacnilk, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' collected Rs 94.95 crore in its first week. Here's how it did each day: Friday: Rs 10.7 crore Saturday: Rs 20.2 crore Sunday: Rs 27.25 crore Monday: Rs 8.5 crore Tuesday: Rs 8.5 crore Wednesday: Rs 7.25 crore Thursday: Rs 6.5 crore In its first seven days, it made Rs 88.9 crore. On the next Friday (day 8), it added another Rs 6.75 crore, as per early estimates by Sacnilk, taking the total to Rs 94.65 crore. Leaves ' Kesari Chapter 2 ' behind This is a big win for Aamir. His film has surpassed Akshay Kumar 's 'Kesari Chapter 2', which had a lifetime India total of Rs 92.53 crore. Now faces new films at the box office But it's not all smooth sailing. The film is now up against new releases. Kajol's horror film 'Maa', Vishnu Manchu's 'Kannappa', and Brad Pitt's 'F1: The Movie' have also hit cinemas. Because of this, the film's numbers can be see a drop. Still, the film is expected to cross Rs 100 crore by the end of its second weekend. What is the film about? In 'Sitaare Zameen Par', Aamir Khan plays a basketball coach who trains a team of players with special needs. The film also stars Genelia D'Souza. It introduces ten fresh faces on screen, Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.

New Delhi [India], June 27 (ANI): Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, along with Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, attended the special screening of the film 'Sitaare Zameen Par' here at a multiplex in Delhi's Chanakyapuri on Friday. Speaking to the media after the screening, Aamir Khan said, 'All of us are delighted. This film, which we have made with so much love, is touching the hearts of people so deeply, and people are liking it so much. What happens is that when we make a film, then until it is not released, it is ours. Once released, then it belongs to the audience and the audience takes the film where they want to.. So whatever movie it is, it belongs to all of you. Thank You So Much.' He added that President Droupadi Murmu also praised the film, and it was a moment of pride for the entire cast and crew. 'It was a moment of great pride for all of us when we went to Rashtrapati Bhavan and President Sahiba watched the movie. She liked it very much and also praised the work of the children. We are very happy.' 'Shashi's (Tharoor) eyes are still wet after watching the movie... Forget about the earnings (of the movie), it should make the heart happy,' Aamir added. Aamir's 'Sitaare Zameen Par' has been released in theatres on June 20.'Sitaare Zameen Par', a sequel to the blockbuster movie 'Taare Zameen Par', that features the challenges faced by intellectually disabled people as they step up to prove themselves in a basketball competition. As per the trailer released by the makers last month, Aamir Khan plays the role of a Basketball coach who has been punished by the court to coach the basketball team of intellectually disabled people for what appears to be a drink and drive case. In the three-minute and twenty-nine-second trailer, Aamir Khan is seen teaching basketball to people with intellectual disabilities to compete in a national tournament. In one of the funny scenes, Aamir is seen arguing with one of the intellectually disabled men as he explains to them about the significance of a jersey in a basketball match. The trailer was filled with love, laughter and happiness as Aamir tackles the problems of his life while coaching the basketball team. The film is directed by Prasanna. (ANI)

Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan 'Lalan' Singh, who heads both the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, has delegated several responsibilities to his junior ministers over the last year. Most recently, his deputy, S P Singh Baghel, chaired a meeting of the consultative committee associated with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. The June 23 meeting was attended by 10 MPs and focused on ending proxy representation. The consultative committee meeting of the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, which was chaired by Lalan Singh last month, saw the participation of three MPs. The delegation led by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri to Ireland, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Air India Flight 182 bombing, has received much praise within the BJP for delivering on a tight deadline. The group, which included the party's Sikh faces from five states and National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, was formed and dispatched within 48 hours. One of its members, who was in Europe, flew back to New Delhi to complete the requisite paperwork before boarding the flight as per the schedule.
