Arsenal legend is a surprise guest at Aaron Ramsdale's wedding celebrations as former Gunners goalkeeper parties with wife Georgina
An Arsenal legend was a surprise guest at Aaron Ramsdale 's wedding celebrations in Italy - two years after he married wife Georgina. Ramsdale married Georgina Irwin, who was pregnant at the time, at a London registry office in June 2023, with the former England star taking to Instagram to reveal he'd tied the knot with the British Airways stewardess. It was an intimate ceremony at the time, and celebrations have only taken place properly this summer after Ramsdale spent last year's warmer months at the European Championship with England. For their wedding, Georgina opted for a stunning white frilled mini dress and strapped heels, while Aaron opted for a smart grey suit. As they celebrated, Georgina wore a vail and a more patterned dress, with Ramsdale donning a black suit. In the celebration photos, meanwhile, an Arsenal icon was spotted taking in the events. Ramsdale played for the club between 2021 and 2024, before leaving for Southampton. That legend was another former goalkeeper in David Seaman, 61. He shared a plethora of photos from the day on his social media, insisting: 'You guys really know how to throw a party!' The first photo showed Ramsdale seemingly being taken by surprise, with Seaman, who was Arsenal's goalkeeper between 1990 and 2003, putting his hands on his fellow shot stopper's shoulders as Ramsdale, holding a drink, turned around. Another saw Seaman in the middle of Ramsdale and another former Gunners star in Rob Holding. Ramsdale could be seen wearing a waistcoat and a hat, while Holding used his shirt to hold his sunglasses. Other snaps showed a food stand, a group of people enjoying a meal and Ramsdale and Georgina cutting their cake. Seaman also posed with wife Frankie Poultney, who he met in 2008 when her dance partner on the Dancing on Ice tour. Seaman added: 'Proper wedding!' The duo bonded during Ramsdale's time at Arsenal. Seaman showed off his growing bond with the now-27-year-old in 2021 when he turned up at a training session. It came just after Ramsdale had made a joke about his counterpart's age. Sharing snaps from their big day on social media two years ago, meanwhile, the sports star captioned his post: 'Mr & Mrs. 20.06.23.' Images from the couple's wedding included the moment they were declared husband and wife, and a slew of group snaps with their family following the ceremony. The couple announced that they were expecting their first child together soon before the wedding, with Ramsdale posting footage on Instagram showing a positive test on top of a baby outfit, with the words 'I love you so much Daddy' adorably stitched onto it. He joined a group to celebrate the Ramsdales in Italy - two years on from their wedding ceremony Also in the pictures shared was a food cart - seemingly ice cream - and Ramsdale and Georgina enjoying cake His on-field career is uncertain after he signed a four-year deal with Southampton last summer before they were relegated The clip then showed him beaming upon hearing the news before he raced across the room to jump across the bed and embrace Georgina. Later, a shot of their baby scan was shown, before the couple posed in front of the camera with Georgina showing off her growing bump. In October 2023, the duo welcomed their son, Ronnie, into the world. On the field, Ramsdale's future is unclear after he was relegated from the Premier League with Southampton last season.

Rangers transfer news as Dessers sees AEK hijack attempt and Ramsdale told Ibrox would be 'backwards step'
There is plenty of activity at Ibrox as Russell Martin ramps up his business and we have all the latest Feyenoord are reportedly weighing up a move to take Cyriel Dessers back to Rotterdam – and considering trying to hijack AEK Athens' bid for the Rangers striker. The Dutch giants – who had a bumper £9million bid rejected for former Celtic striker Oh Hyeon-gyu – are said to be keen on Dessers after failing in a bid to land Brazilian frontman Romulo Cardoso from Turkish Super Lig side Goztepe. Feyenoord have been tracking Cardoso since the winter transfer window but his club won't let him go - and that has led the Dutch side to a familiar face. Dessers moved to Rangers from De Kuip from two summers ago in a £4.5m deal when Michael Beale was in charge. The 30-year-old has hit 50 goals but has split opinion among fans. AEK Athens have been desperate to land him and even agreed personal terms, but can't meet the fee Rangers want for him. And now Sport24 and SDNA say Feyenoord are preparing to try to hijack it. Dessers had a loan spell with the Dutch side in 2021/22 and was Europa Conference League top scorer with 12 goals but they opted not to sign him on a permanent basis. Feyenoord are also desperate to land ex Hoops man Oh, but his Belgian club Genk have made it clear they have no intention of selling the 19-times capped international, who still has three years of his deal left. While Dessers could have the option of returning to his former club - the same remains for his Rangers team-mate Robin Propper with Twente Enschede still keen on him. Their manager Joseph Oosting said: 'I have been in contact with him. We would like to have Robin. Will he come? That is the question.' Meanwhile, former Aston Villa and England midfielder Lee Hendrie reckons Aaron Ramsdale moving to Rangers would be a 'backwards step'. The Southampton keeper has been linked with a Russell Martin reunion but Hendrie told Football League World: 'Aaron Ramsdale is now available on loan, the Saints are saying. 'Galatasaray and Rangers are reportedly interested. Would Rangers be a good move for him or not? I think that going up to Scotland might be a bit of a backwards step for him. "That is no disrespect to the league. I just think he has got more to offer at this moment in time. "Listen, it is a massive football club. There is no doubting that Aaron Ramsdale is a very good goalkeeper. There is no doubt about that, and I do feel that he has got a lot more to offer. "It would not surprise me if a Premier League club maybe looked to take him, just because he has got the experience, given where he has been and what he has done. "If you look at the two clubs - Rangers and Galatasaray - Rangers would be the one that I would certainly be looking to pick, but I still think he will end up at a Premier League club. I really do."

'Ramsdale would welcome a move back to the Premier League'
Our chief football writer Phil McNulty has been taking your asked: With Aaron Ramsdale being touted out for loans, why are Manchester United not busting a gut to sign him, considering their current goalkeeping options?Phil answered: Manchester United's goalkeeping situation is an interesting one as the understanding was that they would stick with Andre Onana and focus on strengthening their forward positions, as we've seen with the signing of Matheus Cunha and the acceleration of a move for Brentford's Bryan that changes remains to be seen, because Onana hasn't convinced. An upgrade would be preferable, although whether they consider Aaron Ramsdale to be an upgrade is another for Ramsdale, I'm certain he would welcome a move back to the Premier League, especially with a World Cup coming up and others such as Dean Henderson now well ahead of him in the England pecking will want to play on the biggest stage to see if he can revive his international hopes.
