Egypt's FM Holds Talks with Diplomats on Gaza Reconstruction

Ahmed Emam Egypt's Foreign Minister, Badr Abdel Atty, held a high-level meeting on Monday with over 100 foreign ambassadors and representatives of international organizations to discuss the rehabilitation of Gaza's healthcare sector. The meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, included a visual presentation on Egypt's comprehensive reconstruction plan for the war-torn enclave. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, was also in attendance. During the meeting, Abdel Atty outlined Egypt's integrated plan for rebuilding Gaza, which was developed in coordination with the Palestinian government. He emphasized key prerequisites for the plan's success, including securing a lasting ceasefire, managing the early recovery phase in a way that ensures Palestinian ownership, and treating Gaza as an integral part of the Palestinian territories. He also highlighted the importance of enabling the Palestinian Authority to resume its governance in Gaza through the creation of an independent, non-partisan committee to oversee the transition. As part of the efforts to support security stabilization, Egypt and Jordan have already begun training Palestinian police forces in preparation for their deployment in the Strip. The Foreign Minister stressed that Egypt's plan has gained strong regional and international backing. He also announced that Egypt is working on organizing a donor conference in Cairo to secure the necessary funding for Gaza's reconstruction. Moreover, Abdel Atty revealed that there is a proposal for the United Nations Security Council to consider establishing an international presence in Gaza and the West Bank. This could involve deploying peacekeeping or protection forces with a clear mandate and timeline to facilitate the eventual establishment of an independent Palestinian state. The meeting reflects Egypt's continued commitment to supporting Gaza's reconstruction and broader efforts toward a sustainable resolution to the Palestinian issue. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe Videos & Features Bouchra Dahlab Crowned Miss Arab World 2025 ..
