LBCI sources confirmed Monday that Lebanon's Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian will visit Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa next Saturday, heading a delegation of religious officials.

Grand Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian, welcomed MP Faisal Karami at Dar al-Fatwa, where the two discussed various Lebanese and Arab matters. Mufti Derian also met with MP Walid Al-Baarini, who stated after the meeting: 'We had the honor of visiting His Eminence to brief him on the situation in Akkar. We emphasized the importance of completing the municipal and mukhtar elections across all Lebanese governorates, where competition has been fraternal, familial, and political, all in service of the people and local development.' He praised the government and security agencies for their effective role in ensuring the elections' success and expressed hope that promised reforms would soon be implemented. Former Health Minister Firas Abiad also visited Mufti Derian to discuss public affairs and national developments.

Bukhari visits Derian, affirms Kingdom's support for Lebanon
NNA - Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian, on Thursday welcomed Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon, Walid Bukhari, at Dar al-Fatwa. Ambassador Bukhari extended Eid al-Fitr greetings to the Mufti and discussed Lebanese affairs. According to Dar al-Fatwa's media office, Ambassador Bukhari reaffirmed 'the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's keenness on seeing Lebanon secure, stable, and united under the authority of the state and its legitimate institutions, in line with the Taif Agreement.' Bukhari further stressed that 'Lebanon's strength lies in its national unity and cooperation with its Arab brothers and international friends.' For his part, Mufti Derian said Lebanon was entering 'a new phase of constructive domestic and international engagement following the election of a president and the formation of a government.' He emphasized the importance of fostering cooperation, solidarity, and mutual trust to help Lebanon emerge from its deepening crises. 'Saudi Arabia has always been at the forefront of nations supporting Lebanon and its people across all fields. The Kingdom remains a cornerstone of stability for all Arab countries, including Lebanon.'

Derian receives former minister Mawlawi, Lebanon's Ambassador to Morocco
Lebanon's Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian received at Dar al-Fatwa, former Minister Bassam Mawlawi who paid him a visit to extend Eid al-Fitr greetings. Grand Mufti Derian later received Lebanon's Ambassador to Morocco Ziad Atallah who briefed him on the situation of the Lebanese community in Morocco.
