Al Rajhi Bank contributes 41% of retail housing loans: Chairman
Al Rajhi Bank 's share in housing loans for individuals currently stands at 41%, said Chairman Abdullah Al Rajhi. He told Al-Arabiya TV that this percentage was achieved by focusing on the retail segment and paying special attention to this product. Any product provided by the bank must be in line with its liquidity and the management of its overall balance sheet, he further noted. The bank is particularly interested in the SMEs segment, said Al Rajhi, adding that the SMEs financing portfolio amounts to SAR 40 billion currently, compared to nearly SAR 10 billion in 2020. He indicated that fintech firms have become market players and pose a threat to banks in general, adding that these firms may represent an opportunity if the banks leverages technology and market developments. Additionally, Al Rajhi Bank has expanded its footprint in fintech sector. It introduced new products and technologies, where the product can be offered via the bank in specific cases or through new fintech firms set up by the bank in other cases. The bank found out that, in certain cases, it is better to own fintech firms, whether wholly or partially, according to the top official.

8 June 2025 23:08 KUWAIT (WAM) A false bomb report led to the safe landing of an airline plane at Kuwait International Airport, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) announced."During the flight to Kuwait, a report was received stating that there was a bomb on board," Abdullah Al Rajhi, the department's official spokesperson, said, according to the Kuwait News noted that the report was dealt with immediately in accordance with the security procedures and protocols adopted at Kuwait International Rajhi added that thanks to close coordination with the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior and other relevant authorities, the plane landed safely. He confirmed that security protocols for such incidents were successfully implemented, all passengers were safely disembarked to an isolated lounge, and there were no adverse effects from the incident on board. He added that scheduled flights at Kuwait International Airport were not affected.

Kuwait-bound Gulf Air plane receives bomb threat, lands safely at airport
Kuwaiti authorities received a report indicating that a Gulf Air plane, which was on its way to the country, had a bomb on board, Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said on Sunday. In response, relevant protocols were immediately carried out as the Gulf Air plane with flight number GF213 landed safely at Kuwait International Airport, and all passengers were evacuated, the authority added. "All passengers are safe and in good health", said Abdullah Al Rajhi, DGCA's official spokesperson, as the report turned out to be a fake bomb threat. He added that scheduled flights at Kuwait International Airport were not affected and no adverse effects resulted from the incident, which took place on Sunday.
