His winning ticket, number 204700, was part of a group entry shared with 11 colleagues. The moment was announced by Big Ticket host Richard, catching Jacob completely off guard. Confused at first, he thought the call was about the upcoming Dh25 million grand draw on July 3. Once the details were clarified, the reality of the win sank in, and Jacob became emotional. 'I don't know what to say… Thank you very much,' he said. 'I've been trying for the past 20 years.' Now that he's had his first taste of luck, Jacob and his team are more determined than ever. He has been living in Dubai with his family for the past nine years and has been regularly purchasing Big Ticket entries for the last year and a half, sometimes with a friend, and sometimes solo. This winning ticket was bought solo. After purchasing two tickets, he received four additional tickets through the bundle offer, and one of these free tickets secured his win. 'I couldn't believe it at first, but when I started getting multiple calls from the Big Ticket team, I knew it had to be real,' he said. 'This feeling is fantastic. I haven't made any plans for the prize money yet, since I didn't expect to win so soon, but one thing's for sure, I'll definitely keep trying again with Big Ticket." Big Ticket's July promotion allows participant to win up to Dh20 million in a grand prize, with the live draw being held on August 3.
