Youth Centres Urge Action
As Bahrain marked Arab Youth Day yesterday, youth leaders and centre representatives echoed a growing call for deeper participation in national strategy, highlighting youth as essential to the Kingdom's development model.
Fatima Al-Otaibi, Secretary of the Academic Excellence Authority, affirmed the organisation's commitment to linking high-performing students and nurturing a culture of innovation.
Inspired by the vision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, she said the Authority supports excellence through incentive programmes, collaboration networks, and capacity-building initiatives.
Future
'Youth are the fuel of our future,' she said.
Arab Youth Day, observed annually on July 5, is recognised as a regional moment to reflect on young people's contributions to public life, entrepreneurship, and policy shaping.
In line with national direction, the occasion drew praise for the continued support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, particularly their encouragement of youth in leadership and governance roles.
According to statements released by the Bahrain News Agency, additional voices from local youth centres emphasised Bahrain's model for youth empowerment.
Dr. Rita Makki Al-Badr, said to chair the Women's and Medical Committee at the Shakhura Youth Empowerment Center, described her role as extending beyond medicine to include social awareness and empowerment.
Others, such as Fatima Al-Khalifa of Wahaj, Hassan Nasser Hassan of Salmabad, Rashid Bakhit Al Dosari of Zallaq, and Mohammed Sadiq Al-Adraj of AIESEC Bahrain, called for stronger youth engagement in policy, digital innovation, and regional development, BNA said.
