We found the London hotel with incredible views where celebs stay before events
We checked in to this popular central London hotel to see why it's so popular – with celebrities and 'regular' travellers alike – and discovered spacious rooms and amazing views First impressions when you enter London Hilton on Park Lane, on the edge of Hyde Park, are certainly grand ones, with a glitzy lobby filled with velvet sofas and human-sized bouquets of fresh flowers to greet you. Despite this clearly being a big corporate hotel (there was at least one conference going on when we stayed), the service is super friendly and personal, from the welcome at reception to the cute note from housekeeping on our pillow with the turn down. Lots of guests were obviously repeat visitors, and staff greeted them – and first-timers like us – like old friends. We're told Academy Award-winning actor Susan Sarandon recently stayed here, as did Maura Higgins to get ready before this year's TV BAFTAs. The rooms at London Hilton on Park Lane We were lucky enough to be put in the recently refurbished Executive Park Lane Suite, a huge space on the 25th floor featuring a lounge area, separate bedroom and dressing room, and incredible views out over Hyde Park, with the Serpentine twinkling in the middle. We were particularly taken by the window seat and super-comfy bed, and the large marble bathroom with two sinks, separate bath and shower, and Molton Brown toiletries. If your budget stretches to it, it's a real luxury to have so much space in the city centre, and feels like London's version of a luxury apartment in New York City, overlooking Central Park. One big perk for those staying in an Executive Room or any of the 56 suites is access to the hotel's Executive Lounge, where breakfast is served in the mornings, and drinks and snacks between 5pm-7pm in the evenings – and there's a wide selection, with no limits on the wines, beers, soft drinks and snacks. You could basically dine out here if you so wished. The food atLondon Hilton on Park Lane Instead, however, we headed downstairs for dinner at the hotel's Park Corner Brasserie, a modern British eatery serving elevated classics. Although not a huge number of options for vegetarians, we loved our cabbage and sweetcorn frittata, and there were loads of grill dishes to choose from. Our personal highlight came at the end of the meal with a trio of creme brulées, each one more delicious than the last. How much does it cost to stay atLondon Hilton on Park Lane? Rooms at London Hilton on Park Lane start from £459 for a Twin Guest Room. For a stay that costs a little less, take a look at Citizen M's four London hotels, which start from £208.80 per night, or browse hundreds of other options on

Richard Dreyfuss Launches Exclusive Merch Line for ‘Jaws' 50th Anniversary
Richard Dreyfuss is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Jaws in a unique way. The actor, who played marine biologist Matt Hooper in the 1975 Steven Spielberg thriller, launched a new website loaded with merch for Jaws fans—just in time for the film's milestone anniversary on June 20. In a post on his official website, Dreyfuss, 77, welcomed fans to 'step aboard the Orca and dive into the legacy of Matt Hooper' with an exclusive collection of signed merchandise from Jaws, all personally autographed by the Academy Award-winning actor. What's available? Signed photos, movie posters, t-shirts, hoodies, and Matt Hooper Oceanography Institute hats. There's even a shark jaw replica signed by the actor. Signed merch ranges in price from $95 to $495. Dreyfuss also shared a YouTube video that showed him autographing some of the exclusive merchandise, including a photo that was taken on the very first day of shooting the iconic film. 'Over the years, my signature has changed, gotten shorter and shorter because my name seems to have gotten longer,' the actor joked, adding, "I hope you find stuff you like. Talk to you later.' Dreyfuss wasn't always sure there would be so much Jaws fandom. In a 2021 interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, the actor admitted that he doubted the film would be a hit early on. 'Everyone thought that they had struck gold, and I said, 'What are you talking about, it's just a little movie,'' the Jaws star recalled in the interview. 'And so, when the film was released, I found myself going back to the talk shows and saying I'm the guy that didn't believe in it.' Jaws went on to become the first-ever summer movie blockbuster and spawned three sequels. Dreyfuss has since called the film 'one of the most powerful things that ever happened' to Dreyfuss Launches Exclusive Merch Line for 'Jaws' 50th Anniversary first appeared on Men's Journal on Jun 20, 2025

Walt Disney helped build a mini railroad that comes with this CA house for sale
A charming estate with major Hollywood ties has landed on the market in Tarzana, California. The property spans 17,181 square feet and has multiple structures, including a 12,170-square-foot primary home. While the residence is jaw-dropping, its connection with two of the most famous names to come out of the Golden Era of Tinseltown is one of its main appeals. Walt Disney and Academy Award-winning director John Huston are both linked to the property. The home was designed for Huston, who directed such films as 'The African Queen,' 'Key Largo,' 'Annie' and 'The Maltese Falcon,' but when it exchanged hands, it got even more magical. 'The estate at 4535 Vanalden Ave. was designed as a grand ranch that was even once visited by friend Frank Lloyd Wright. After Huston's ownership, the property was acquired in 1959 by Gordon and Holly McClean, who became stewards of its unique character for over 20 years,' a news release about the estate says. 'They were close friends of Walt Disney who helped build the miniature railroad complete with a 240-foot tunnel, elevated trestles, landscaped tracks, a working station with turntable, and dual tracks that can run steam, electric, and propane-powered engines.' The house became a hot spot for train enthusiasts and people who just wanted to take a ride on the famous mini-train. Other features of the home, per the listing and release, include: Barn with one bedroom and two bathroomsGuest cottageTrain stationStorage rooms 'Additional highlights include a pool that goes beneath the home, seven ponds, a tennis court, dog run, garden, children's play area, and a reimagined barn for entertaining complete with original reclaimed wood under the bar,' the release says. The listing is held by David Kramer with Compass and Paul Czako with Gussman Czako Estates. Tarzana is about a 20-mile drive northwest from Los Angeles.

Intelsat partners with WPDI to expand education access
Satellite-powered connectivity will support enhanced online education in conflict-affected regions in South Sudan and Uganda. Intelsat has announced a partnership with Academy Award-winning actor and humanitarian Forest Whitakers nonprofit, the Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative (WPDI), to transform access to education in conflict-affected regions across Africa. The collaboration will deliver, for the first time, high-speed internet connectivity to WPDIs Community Learning Centres in South Sudan and Uganda, creating digital bridges to education for thousands of young people in areas where infrastructure has been insufficient or compromised. Intelsat will equip 10 centresseven in South Sudan and three in Ugandawith satellite connectivity. Over the course of this three-year partnership, Intelsat will provide equipment, managed connectivity services, installation, and ongoing technical support. This effort will bring reliable internet access to communities where traditional connectivity infrastructure is inadequate for modern online education. Forest Whitaker said: 'Education is the foundation for peace. At WPDI, we use technology as a conduit to opportunitybringing knowledge to young people whose lives have been upended by violence and political unrest. With the right tools, youths can reclaim their futures to become powerful agents of peace in their communities.' The initiative comes at a critical time, as digital inequality continues to widen globally. According to the International Telecommunication Union, a mere 19% of people in the least developed nations, like South Sudan and Uganda, use the internet. In areas directly affected by conflict, these numbers drop even further, creating significant barriers to education and opportunity for vulnerable populations. By improving digital access, Intelsat and WPDI are providing learning centre trainees with the resources they need to become drivers of positive change in their community and beyond. Graduates of WPDI programmes have gone on to become community leaders, educators, and advocates, exemplified by individuals like Benson Lugwar, a former child soldier who is now an elected official and radio host in Uganda. Dave Wajsgras, CEO of Intelsat, added: 'At Intelsat, we are great believers in the power of connectivity to promote education and sustainable development around the world. Forest Whitaker and WPDIs efforts represent exactly the kind of transformative work that satellite communications can enable. Were proud to support WPDIs efforts to bring young people together, close the digital divide, and create pathways to prosperity in communities that need it most.' The satellite-powered connectivity will enable WPDI to significantly expand its educational offerings, providing access to digital resources, online courses, and virtual exchange programmes that were previously impossible in these remote locations. Students will gain critical digital literacy skills alongside WPDIs established curriculum in conflict resolution, entrepreneurship, and community development.

Patriots win award for 'Good Jules Hunting' schedule release video
The New England Patriots were recognized by the 2024 Hashtag Sports Awards this week for winning the Best Short-Form Video for their Good Jules Hunting schedule release last year. It was an elaborate and fun spoof of the Academy Award-winning 1997 film Good Will Hunting. The video was created as a trailer and featured Patriots legends Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski. It was a clever way to drop a regular season schedule, as opposed to the highly criticized egg dropping skit the Patriots went with this year. According to the official website, the Hashtag Sports Awards celebrates the "best content, campaigns, and entertainment that set the benchmark for fan engagement and define culture and creativity." NFL teams are getting more creative every year in how they approach the schedule releases. The Patriots went all in with Edelman in the Good Jules Hunting video. Former Patriots head coach and two-time Pro Bowler Jerod Mayo, former longtime football research director Ernie Adams and owner Robert Kraft all made appearances. Patriots fans can only hope there's more where that came from. Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook.
