Laura Woods admits she was 'nervous' at the prospect of returning to work post-pregnancy - as the TV presenter reveals her biggest worry

Laura Woods has detailed her experience returning to work after giving birth to her first child. Known for her coverage of football and darts among other sports for Sky, TNT Sport and ITV - Woods stepped away from her on-screen responsibilities last year while pregnant. After giving birth to her son Leo in January with fiance and ex-Love Island contestant Adam Collard by her side, Woods subsequently returned to TV and was part of the coverage of the 2025 Champions League final. Well aware of the way women can be perceived in television based on how they look, the 38-year-old explained that she was living with anxiety surrounding her return to the screen. 'I was nervous about how I looked,' Woods told The Telegraph. 'You put on a lot of weight in pregnancy and you feel a little bit different. 'Of the things I used to worry about, my appearance probably would have been top of that list. But funnily enough that's sort of taken a bit of a back step. I don't care about that as much as I thought I would. 'When I came back I felt quite a level of acceptance of myself I don't think I had before I had a baby. 'My body has been through quite a lot and that is just a reality. However you have your baby, however tricky or easy your pregnancy is, your body will change and you just accept it because you think there's something much bigger going on. My body has done an amazing thing.' 'Now the important thing is that my whole kind of existence is making sure that Leo's existence is great and that I'm looking after him in the best way I can. So things that you think matter do take a back step.' Woods is set to be part of ITV's coverage of this summer's Women's European Championships as England travel to Switzerland intent on retaining their title. Asked about England's chances at the tournament, Woods insisted that the experience of head coach Sarina Wiegman will prove invaluable for the Lionesses. 'I think we always say it, in Sarina we trust,' she added. 'She is a different beast when it comes to tournament football, she is a tournament animal.

Who Runs Social Media Accounts for ‘Love Island USA' Season 7 Stars While They Are in the Villa?

The Love Island USA season 7 cast doesn't have access to their phones while filming in Fiji — so who is posting from their social media accounts? The Peacock series, which premiered in the U.K. on ITV2 in 2002, follows a different group of singles every season who have to pair off in order to stay in the show's luxury villa. The contestants — who are referred to as Islanders — live in isolation and are under constant video surveillance. They must be coupled up to remain on the show and to stand a chance to receive the prize of $100,000. Love Island USA has similar rules to the OG series, which includes not having access to the outside world. Islanders can't bring their phones, they don't have clocks and they receive those famous texts on an entirely different device. Former star Lucinda Strafford clarified in a 2021 YouTube video that the device was largely limited to messaging. Islanders could text one another, but producers were able to see their correspondence. Celebrities Who Are Watching 'Love Island USA' Season 7 — And Sharing Their Hottest Takes 'We used to write messages to each other when we were in bed so other people couldn't hear what we were saying,' former Islander Adam Collard told OK! Magazine in 2018. 'We deleted our messages, but the producers told me that they still have them all." Season 4 alum Phoebe Siegel weighed in as well about how all Islanders 'have no access to the outside world." 'You can't Google, you can't watch TV, you can't access your socials, you can't text anybody," she added in 2024. 'Taking thirst traps, taking really cute videos ... besides taking pictures of each other and of yourself, the phone is used for receiving a text.' As fans of season 7 already know, just because an Islander doesn't have a phone doesn't mean their social media platforms are inactive. In fact, the reality stars rely on their loved ones to keep hyping them up — and sometimes even releasing statements on their behalf. Keep scrolling to see who runs which Islander's accounts — and what they post: After Ace entered the villa, his inner circle took over posting updates of him in his voice. Amaya's social media account is on hiatus while she is in Fiji. As Austin's time in the villa continues, he has entrusted his social media to a loved one who has been highlighting his journey to find The One, writing, "There's no place l'd rather be than down on the FARM!" The model will return to a loyal following courtesy of her family and friends who are promoting #TeamChelley on her online platforms. Chelley's loved ones also took to social media to clarify fan rumors about her alleged past connection with Ace. "Seeing chelley cry was the absolute worst. watching it on the tv screen?! it went from a denzel tear to a full blown ball out cry. dear god!! its like we all felt her pain," read a post. "Olandria was the first person she met walking into this experience, her other black barbie, her go to girl when talking through all her pickles for. Chelley cherished that so much and for those two to have to leave each others side in such a pivotal moment of the shou was heartbreaking. we know that their friendship will continue." 'Love Island USA' Season 7: Meet the Hot New Singles Looking for Love in Fiji Based on Cierra's Instagram, her inner circle is documenting her time in the villa while communicating with her followers. "I hate seeing Cierra cry. I could feel her sadness all the way through the screen and it broke my heart in two. There's a particular kind of heartbreak felt when someone says they care about you, but not enough to choose you. We've all been there at one point. I just wish I could give her a hug. My mom always taught me if I have nothing nice to say, I shouldn't say anything at all," read a post. "So, instead of sharing my thoughts and opinions on mommy's little meatball (aka soon to be ground beef)...I thought l'd be fun to surprise Cierra with an appreciation post that she can read when she gets out of the villa. For whenever she's feeling down, needs to laugh, or remember how much we love her!!!" The post continued: "She can come back to this post and be reminded of the fabulous, intelligent, electric woman that she is let Cierra know your favorite thing about her, your favorite moment, something you related to, or something you love about her. I'll go first: I love how Cierra's personality shines through the screen. She's the most warm, cuddly, comfort person you'd ever meet and can still check a b**** without batting an eye. She'll talk to you for hours about past lives, constellations, and the intricacies of the universe. While simultaneously talking about why love is blind and vanderpump rules are the crème de la crème of reality tv. Ok your turn." Before Hannah was eliminated, her social media account featured posts defending her choices on screen. There's no one spreading support for Huda quite like whoever is running her Instagram. "Okay but what the helly I am BALLINGGG Tonight was the most emotional night for me by far. We love everyone & hate that this has to happen. & I just know such great memories have been created through their journey Such a bitter sweet ending," read a post. "We're thankful for everyone that voted for our girl tonight. I'm extremely excited to see her thrive in Casa If there's one thing about my baby is that face card is never declining like excuse me? Even when she's crying what are y'all thoughts from tonight??" In addition to sharing fan edits, stills from the show and updates on Iris' style inside the villa, Iris' personal account also released a statement after her love triangle with Jeremiah and Huda. The bombshell didn't have social media until he left the villa, which is when he joined social media to overwhelming support. According to his bio, Jeremiah's management ran his social media while he was away, adding, "Jeremiah moments that make me smile Miss seeing bro on the big screen but couldn't be more proud of him! Appreciate all the love, support, and petitions." If you're Team Pepe, his social media is the best place to be as his team continues to highlight his Love Island USA stint. "Since there's no new episode tonight... we couldn't leave you without your daily Pepe content present to you a throwback of the first ever TikTok trend Pepe ever attempted," read a post. All of the Rules That 'Love Island' Contestants Must Follow: No Social Media, Alcohol Limitations and More Nic's Instagram hasn't just recapped his time on the show but offered glimpses into his life outside the villa, writing, "right before we descend into casa amor madness... enjoy this chaotic collection of our fav nic core edits" While viewers wait to see whether Olandria was actually dumped from the villa, her social media has kept Us updated on her search for love. "To know Olandria is to love her and you see that display amongst her fellow island sisters. Last night was a rollercoaster of emotions not for just her family and friends but for her supporters as well. Our girl is so deserving of EVERYTHING she wants in this life and the next," read a post. "As her closest friends it is very heartwarming to see her have a support system within the other women in the villa. Shoutout to her girls Chelley, Huda, Cierra, Amaya, Iris and Adreina for taking such good care of her in this moment. AS WOMEN, WE HAVE TO HOLD OUR HEADS HIGH IN THE DARKEST OF TIMES." The post continued: "A girl's girl she will forever be. With that being said cousins let's continue to lift her positively + gracefully! I don't have an appetite right now. so hold the food!" Taylor's loved ones have kept his social media account thriving while he forms connections in Fiji, writing in one post, "He's a little weird but he's our favorite." Days after his elimination, Charlie should have gained access back to his phone. "Goodbyes & Good vibes. Charlie's cousin is officially signing out of his Instagram tomorrow, the next post after this will be from your boy himself!" read a post. "Thank you all so much for the endless love and support! Our family are truly overwhelmed with the amazing comments & messages. Drop your favourite Charlie moment in the comments so he has some feel good memories to read when he gets his phone back!"

Laura Woods looks blissfully happy as he enjoys holiday with fiancé Adam Collard and baby son Leo

Laura Woods looked happier than ever on holiday with her fiancé Adam Collard and their baby son Leo. The sports presenter, 37, and fitness coach, 29, who rose to fame in 2018 as a lothario on Love Island, could be seen snuggling up to their son, who was born in January. Adam smiled widely as he posed with his son in the pool, with the tot looking extremely relaxed in a baby float with its own sun protector. The pair wore sunglasses and baby Leo was given even more protection from the heat with an adorable hat. The family looked like they were having a lot of fun in a series of images shared to Instagram by Laura on Monday. Another snap sees the new mum smiling open-mouthed as she holds her baby in the air, with Leo appearing to squeal in delight. The tot looked just as happy as he was held up by his dad while wearing large, ear-protecting headphones. Laura recently praised Adam's parenting skills in a sweet Father's Day post. She wrote: 'Happy 1st Father's Day to this absolute DILF. Dad of The Year, no task too big or baby apparatus instructions too complicated. 'The way you and this little boy adore each other made me realise what it's all about. Thanks for making my life.' Laura and Adam began dating in October 2023 and announced that they were expecting their first child in July 2024. Their relationship came a year after Adam famously returned to Love Island in 2022 in a bid to meet his dream woman. He previously caused chaos on the show in 2018 when he coupled up with four different women - Kendall, Rosie, Zara, and Darylle. While he ultimately went on to have a relationship with the now Strictly Come Dancing star Zara McDermott, they split after seven months together. In 2022, he once again found himself a girlfriend on the show, Paige Thorne, but their romance was short-lived and they quickly split after leaving the show. Paige later accused Adam of cheating and he admitted that he used her to enjoy a longer stint on Love Island, stating he 'completely chose the right person to stay on the show'. Adam went on to date Kate Moss's sister Lottie Moss after they were set up on Celebs Go Dating, but the romance ended after a month. This was reportedly the result of Adam sleeping with another woman after he had been intimate with Lottie. She said at the time: 'I hope he finds happiness – deep down in that cold shell of a soul.' Adam's relationship with Laura has been much more successful from the get-go, with the former reality star describing the presenter as 'the one'.
