Adamstown catch the eye with derby defeat of Rathgarogue-Cushinstown
Adamstown 4-17 Rathgarogue-Cushinstown 2-13 Wexford People THERE WAS a lot to like about Adamstown as they overwhelmed Rathgarogue-Cushinstown in Group B of the Joyces Expert Intermediate 'A' hurling championship in O'Kennedy Park on Saturday. It's early days, but the John Mullane-coached losers were well off the pace. And to compound matters, key attacker Michael O'Rourke looked to have picked up an ankle injury late on. They can ill afford to be without him.

Total of 65 new homes in Adamstown launching from €445,000
Address : Redford, The Blossoms & Aderrig, Adamstown, Co Dublin Price : €445,000 Agent : Savills and Sherry FitzGerald There's an active suburb feeling in Airlie Park in Adamstown on a sunny June morning where some of its youngest residents make use of its extensive wooden playground and their parents drop into the Tram Cafe for a caffeine jolt so they can keep up with them. The park is impressive, and seen through the eyes of a child, it must be even more so, with its green spaces, pockets of wild daisies, tennis courts, football pitches and basketball court. And for older children and teenagers, the school run isn't too hectic in Adamstown, as it has two local primary schools and a secondary school. A short walk from this hub, housebuilder Evara, formerly Quintain, is releasing a total of 65 new homes at three developments: Redford and The Blossoms – both of which are selling through Savills – and Aderrig, which is selling through Sherry FitzGerald . By launching three separate offerings on the weekend of June 21st, the developer is aiming to provide a wide range of choice for potential buyers, says Helena Kelleher of Evara. All homes come with fitted kitchens (by BeSpace or Kube depending on the unit), bathroom fit-outs – including sanitary ware, bathroom tiling and mirrors – and built-in wardrobes in double bedrooms as standard. Kitchen appliances are also included subject to signing the purchase contract within 28 days. All homes have A enery ratings. Redford A total of 24 homes are being brought to the market at Redford as part of its third phase. This will include 14 three-beds, seven four-beds and three two-beds. READ MORE These homes are spacious and benefit from being a short walk from The Crossings retail hub, where there is a Tesco and an Aldi, as well as Adamstown train station, from where a journey to Dublin's Heuston station takes about 20 minutes. The Bingham three-beds come as mid- and end-terrace units and measure from 104sq m (1,119sq ft) and are priced from €540,000. The four-bed mid- and end-terrace Express units measure 150sq m (1,615sq ft) and are priced from €635,000. The two-bed, end-terrace Adler units extend to 88sq m (947sq ft) and offer a great option for a single person, a couple or a small family, or for someone who may want to move from an apartment to a house with their own door and back garden. The double bedrooms upstairs are a good size and each has its own en suite – this would make the second bedroom suitable for renting out to supplement mortgage payments. The Adler has a starting price of €510,000. Redford: living area Redford: open-plan kitchen/dining/livingroom Redford: double bedroom The Blossoms The Blossoms then, is sequestered in a quiet corner of Adamstown, right beside Tandy's Park and yet another playground. That includes 15 of the Heather three-bed, semidetached or mid- and end-terrace houses, measuring from 110sq m (1,184sq ft) and priced from €550,000; and two of the four-bed terraced Honeysuckle units measuring from 147sq m (1,582sq ft) and priced from €625,000. The showhouses for both Redford and the Blossoms were designed by Angelina Ball of Design Stories, and both schemes are being sold through Savills. The two-bed apartments are well laid out and have the kitchen jutting out to the side off the dining/living area, which creates a nice separation of the space. There is a paved outdoor area to the front of the own-door apartments and a secure bike storage to the rear. Roche nets late winner against Adamstown to keep Bree United on track for Division 3 crown
Bree United are just one win away from the Division 3 crown after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Adamstown in Macmine on Friday evening. Dylan Dalton broke the deadlock to put the hosts ahead in the 57th minute, but Adamstown replied through Tarek Huawei just six minutes later. However, ace marksman Noel Roche popped with his 15th league goal of the season in the 86th minute to keep his side on track for the title, with just one game, against fellow high-flyers Shamrock Rovers, remaining. Neither Oylegate United nor Shamrock Rovers will be particularly happy after playing out a scoreless stalemate on Wednesday evening as they handed the initiative to fellow title-challengers Bree. Shamrock Rovers had no problem hitting the net on Sunday as they ran out emphatic 8-0 winners against Duncannon in Ryan's Park. Kyle Foley, Stephen Wallace, Miley Fortune, Anthony Murphy (two), Dillon Shannon, John Murphy and Floyd Murphy got the goals for the Enniscorthy outfit. New Ross Town finished their campaign with a 3-0 win over Wexford Celtic at St. Mary's Secondary School on Wednesday evening. Conor Rossiter, John Browne and Ryan Dempsey got their goals. Gorey Celtic won by the same scoreline away to Killenagh Wanderers, with Lee Byrne (two) and James McGraynor hitting the back of the net. Celtic picked up another win on the road on Sunday, coming out on top 4-1 against Bunclody at Church Road. Luke Kavanagh and Luke Darley both scored twice for the visitors, while Jerry Connors netted a late consolation goal. Division 3A Rosslare Strand moved to the top of the Division 3A table with a 7-1 win over Taghmon United in Horetown on Thursday evening. Danny O'Reilly was the star man, scoring five times for the visitors, while Pierce Dooley and Tyrone O'Reilly added to their tally. Darren Hayden netted for Taghmon. Gorey Rangers are level with Ferns United in third spot, following a 1-0 win over Glynn Barntown. An early Conor McDermott goal proved to be the difference between the sides. Connor Larkin-Cooney, Aaron Larkin, Reis Gasson (two) and Darryl O'Rourke got the goals for Enniscorthy United as they comfortably saw off bottom side Fethard Rangers 5-0 in Neil O'Sullivan Park. Division 4 St. Cormac's hold a two-point advantage ahead of Forth Celtic at the summit of Division 4 following a 4-2 win over The Ballagh United at Mount Daniel on Sunday. The visitors had a three-goal lead at the break, thanks to a Jamie Dempsey-Doyle double and a Cormac Finn strike. Stephen Lacey made it 4-0 with 20 minutes remaining and, although Daniel O'Regan and Tommy Storey pulled back late goals for The Ballagh, the result wasn't in doubt. Forth Celtic kept themselves in the race with a hard-fought 4-3 win over third-placed Courtown Hibs in Matt Ennis Park. Roy Nunn put the Murrintown men ahead in the 13th minute, but Shane Grannell and Leon Tyndall-Stafford replied to give Hibs a 2-1 advantage at the break. The hosts took control after the interval and goals from Keith Murphy, Conor Mullan and Anthony Hayes gave them a 4-2 advantage. Anthony Cronin-Shaughnessy pulled one back for the visitors in the 89th minute. A thrilling finale is in store as Forth Celtic welcome St. Cormac's to Matt Ennis Park for their final game of the season. New Ross Celtic proved too strong for Carne FC in Butlersland, winning 6-1 to end the visitors' brave fight to avoid the drop. Aaron Kinsella netted a first-half hat-trick for the hosts, while Seán Lennon contributed a double and Anthony Feeney chipped in with a goal. Conor Gilbert replied for Carne. Kiltealy Celtic finished the campaign on a high with a 5-1 success against Cushinstown. Kevin Roberts put Cushinstown ahead in the twelfth minute, but that was as good as it got for the visitors, with Fran Buckley, Ben Nugent, Fergal Buckley (two) and Eddie Buckley scoring for Kiltealy. Dylan Lennon bagged both goals for Shelburne United as they beat Cushinstown 2-1 at Terrerath Community Centre on Thursday. Shane Brazil scored for the hosts. Division 4A Division 4A runners-up Wexford Bohemians finished their league campaign with a 4-1 win over Rosbercon United in 'The Brute' Walsh Park on Thursday evening. Lar Feeney gave the visitors an early lead, but it proved to be a false dawn as Adam Roche, Jamie McMahon (two) and Sam O'Neill replied for Bohs. Bridge Rovers and Caim United shared the spoils after a 1-1 draw in the Bogside. Mikie Lacey put the hosts ahead in the tenth minute, but Jamie Blackburn equalised 15 minutes later. Dillon Nolan bagged a hat-trick for Caim as they chalked up a 5-2 away win over Rosbercon United on Sunday. David Franklin added a brace for the winners, while Jamie St. Ledger and Dan Connors scored for the home side.
