‘Wednesday' Season 2 Trailer: Jenna Ortega Tries to Save Her Roommate by Returning to Nevermore

What better way to start a Wednesday than with Wednesday Addams? Jenna Ortega is back as the title character for Season 2 of the viral 'Addams Family'-inspired Netflix series, 'Wednesday.' Ortega reunites with auteur Tim Burton for the latest installment, which promises a new slew of spooky mysteries…including how to save Wednesday's roommate Enid (Emma Myers). And Season 2 also welcomes A-list guest stars including Lady Gaga, Thandiwe Newton, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, Joanna Lumley, Frances O'Connor, and Joonas Suotamo. Steve Buscemi has joined the cast as a series regular, with Hunter Doohan, Joy Sunday, Georgie Farmer, Victor Dorobantu, Gwendoline Christie, Christina Ricci, and Catherine Zeta-Jones back as well. Ortega recently told Harper's Bazaar that she is still in shock about how much of an instant hit the series was after debuting in 2022. 'I was so stunned that I didn't really process it. I still haven't,' she said. 'What's so strange about a character like Wednesday is that Wednesday is an outcast and an outsider — but she's also a pop-culture icon. So, in a strange way, I feel like I've become a pop actor — if that makes sense. And that's something I never saw for myself.' Ortega teased that Season 2 has 'more horror' genre elements than the first installment. 'It's really, really exciting because, all throughout the show, while Wednesday does need a little bit of an arc, she never really changes, and that's the wonderful thing about her,' Ortega told E! News. 'There's really, really good one-liners, and I think everything's bigger. It's a lot more action-packed. Each episode will probably feel a little bit more like a movie, which is nice.' Ortega previously told Variety's Actors on Actors that 'Wednesday' Season 2 will also emphasize more horror over any teen love triangle storylines. 'We've decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more,' Ortega said at the time. 'Because it is so lighthearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don't want to take yourself too seriously. We're ditching any romantic love interest for Wednesday, which is really great. We're going to get bolder, more dark.' 'Wednesday' Season 2, Part 1 will premiere August 6, with Part 2 debuting September 3. Check out the trailer below. On Wednesdays, We Wear Black! Our Fave Goth Girlie Is Back For More Creepy, Kooky & All Together Ooky Spooks In ‘Wednesday' Season 2 Trailer

Source: Netflix Our favorite goth girlie is BACK and broodier than ever in Wednesday, season 2 which drops the titular character in the middle of another spooky mystery with Enid's life on the line. Check out the long-awaited trailer below: Returning to direct the smash hit series is Tim Burton who dials up the dreary deliciousness in the seemingly sinister season. 'For me, it was enjoyable just because I love the cast,' he said about filming the second season. 'It was a very strong group of people, and having the opportunity to work with some new cast members this season, it's a mixture of something beautiful about the old, and beautiful about the new.' Reigning as Netflix's biggest series of ALL-TIME with over a billion minutes viewed, Wednesday is primed to shatter its own record with bankable star Jenna Ortega at the center of the macabre mayhem. Source: Netflix 'It's still quite difficult to comprehend,' said Ortega about the massive success of the show. 'I see the effects and changes that it's had on my life and my castmates' lives, but it's something that you're very detached from. If you see a number, it looks kind of crazy, but it's not like I've seen it in a room or anything like that. I just try not to pay too much attention to that stuff because success for me is more about feeling accomplished and being able to put something out into the world and feel proud. It's wonderful that it's been received so well, because there's a lot of pressure. When we started the show, I was 18 and had never worked with a director as big as Tim. I had led a show before, but not with a character that was so well known and loved prior to me joining. It's a relief, but I would be lying if I didn't say that I still don't feel super anxious or feel like I have something I need to live up to every day on set. Maybe that's a good thing, but it hasn't gotten easier.' Building on the success of season 1, the series adds bigger stakes and a slew of guest stars including Lady Gaga, Thandiwe Newton, Christopher Lloyd, Haley Joel Osment, Jamie McShane, Joanna Lumley, Frances O'Connor and more. Source: Netflix And yes, our beloved Addams Family returns with its lovable dysfunction and some deep, dark family secrets seeing the light of day. Source: Netflix 'Family weaves quite heavily into this season,' said Burton in an interview with Tudum . 'One of the most interesting things about Wednesday is the Addams family mythology. This idea of the whole Addams family being drawn back to school at this point in their lives is interesting, and it causes friction. This show is visually heightened, but at the heart of it are very real family dynamics.' Will you be seated for Wednesday season 2? Tell us down below! The post On Wednesdays, We Wear Black! ‘Wednesday' Season 2 Puts the Freaky Family Front and Center

Wednesday fans are ready for the second season to arrive on Netflix, and a new featurette is revealing that certain members of the Addams Family are getting a more prominent role. Executive producer and director Tim Burton shared in the clip that they are bringing the family to Nevermore, so that move gave writers the opportunity to explore "Addams Family lore." Creator and showrunner Miles Millar explained that "the scope is expanded, in terms of the character arcs, and it's really fun to see them explore a lot more of Nevermore." The "mother-daughter dynamic between Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) and Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) will be featured, along with Gomez (Luis Guzmán) and Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez). "Luis as Gomez Addams is such a great, warm character," noted Millar. "And we see the father-song story evolve over the season," added creator and showrunner Alfred Gough. Burton promised that Ordonez really delivered as Pugsley in Season 2, whom he described as "an outcast among outcasts" this year. He had high praise for the 16-year-old actor, adding, "Isaac did a really beautiful job of capturing the pathos of Pugsley." Ordonez warned, "[Pugsley] wants to fit in, and he really wants a friend. It's not looking very good." Netflix is delivering the show in two parts with Part I dropping Aug. 6 and Part II coming Sept. 3. It's a marketing strategy that has worked well for the streamer when it comes to their bigger hits, including Outer Banks, Bridgerton, Cobra Kai, and Emily in Paris. Wednesday is also getting a spinoff from Netflix revolving around Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen), who will also appear in Season 2.'Wednesday' Season 2 Puts the Freaky Family Front and Center first appeared on Men's Journal on Jul 9, 2025
