In Zimbabwe, President Emmerson Mnangagwa's government has issued an alert for its citizens over employment fraud on social media. The Zimbabwean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade issued a warning against a Facebook page named 'Zimbabwe Embassy Kenya'. The page operators claimed that they were hiring staff for the Embassy of Zimbabwe in Nairobi. The page offered a list of job offers that required a payment of more than 48,000 Kenyan Shillings ($375). The scammers claimed that this money was to obtain an "Africa Regional Labour Accreditation Certificate". The Zimbabwean government said that the page has no official affiliation with it, urging the citizens to rely on the country's Public Service Commission for all official recruitment into the public service.
