FM Holds Several Bilateral Meetings During EU-Southern Neighbourhood Ministerial Meeting

Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, held, on Monday in Brussels, a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of his participation in the 5th EU-Southern Neighbourhood Ministerial Meeting. The minister, accompanied mainly by Morocco's ambassador and permanent representative to the EU, Ahmed Reda Chami, held talks with the European Commissioner for Mediterranean, Dubravka Šuica, discussing the means of strengthening the partnership between Morocco and the EU. The meeting focused on Morocco's commitment to the New Pact for the Mediterranean, designed to provide fresh impetus to the partnership between the two shores of the Mediterranean, as part of the EU's neighbourhood policy. Bourita also held talks with the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, where the two officials discussed the strategic partnership between Morocco and the EU, as well as various regional and international issues of common interest. Subsequently, Bourita held talks with the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, with whom he reviewed bilateral cooperation ties and examined ways of developing them further, within the framework of constant dialogue and consultation between the two countries. Bourita also held talks with several of his peers on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting, mainly including the foreign ministers of Jordan, Egypt and Slovenia. The 5th EU-Southern Neighbourhood Ministerial Meeting aims to exchange perspectives on the New Pact for the Mediterranean, which is set to be presented in the next fall, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Barcelona Declaration. Ghana's FM Hails Royal Initiatives, Expresses Admiration for HM the King's Leadership & Strong Commitment to Peace, Stability and Development in Africa

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ghana Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa hailed here on Thursday 05 June the Royal Initiatives, and expressed admiration for the leadership and strong commitment of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in favor of peace, stability and development in Africa. In a joint Communiqué issued following his meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita, Okudzeto Ablakwa hailed the leadership and laudable contribution of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the international Community's efforts to promote peace, stability and development in Africa. In this context, he expressed his country's commitment to further enshrine cooperation with the Kingdom of Morocco in various areas of cooperation. The two ministers further welcomed the momentum generated within the framework of the Atlantic African States Process to turn the Atlantic African space into a geostrategic framework offering major opportunities for synergy and cooperation among its countries. These opportunities include strategic areas such as the environment, food security, health, energy, logistical interconnection, pooling resources and exchange of experience, therefore forming an area of co-emergence and stability. Okudzeto Ablakwa also lauded His Majesty the King's initiative to promote Sahel countries' access to the Atlantic Ocean, underlining the strategic importance of this Initiative, which forms part of Morocco's active solidarity with sister African countries. Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita told the House of Councillors on Tuesday that in 2024, the Ministry handled a total of 1,345 requests and complaints received via the " national claims Portal. Responding during question time, Bourita stressed that " constitutes an operational framework for interaction with the grievances of Moroccans worldwide, emphasizing the paramount importance of listening to them and taking their expectations into account. The Minister explained that the complaints received can be divided into four main categories. The first category comprises consular complaints concerning the procedures and services provided by diplomatic representations, while the second concerns issues relating to civil status or personal affairs. The fourth category includes complaints of a social, economic or financial nature, relating to subjects such as taxation and land ownership. He also assured that the Ministry handles directly all complaints falling within its remit, while other claims are forwarded to the relevant departments or to the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Residing Abroad. In addition, he noted close coordination with the Institution of the Ombudsman to interact with these complaints, stressing that the new framework ordered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, concerning the Mohammedia Foundation for Moroccans Residing Abroad will provide a more suitable framework for handling these complaints and expectations more swiftly and effectively, thus providing timely responses and ensuring better coordination between relevant departments. Operation Marhaba 2025 Focuses on Traffic Fluidity, Enhanced Security & Local Support

Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, said on Tuesday 03 June that Operation Marhaba 2025 is set to be mainly focused on ensuring traffic fluidity, enhancing security, providing local support and maintaining heightened health vigilance. Speaking during question time at the House of Councillors, Bourita stated that 29 ships belonging to seven shipping companies will operate 12 routes from the ports of Italy, France and Spain, adding that a budget of around MAD 28 million has been allocated to improve the reception infrastructure at the port of Tanger-Med. The minister also highlighted that security is set to be enhanced thanks to strengthened border control mechanisms, and that local support will be provided through 24 reception centers, including 18 in France and 6 abroad, in addition to the mobilization of additional human resources, on the High Royal Instructions. Bourita added that consulates will operate from June 15 to September 15, as usual, on a permanent basis (Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays), noting that staffing levels will be increased and mobile consulates will be set up "to support this large-scale operation, placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, for the benefit of three million citizens." Health vigilance is also part of this general mobilization, with the presence of specialized teams on the roads and at rest areas, he added, emphasizing that "the aim is to improve this operation year on year, so as to live up to the ambition of His Majesty the King." Bourita also recalled that preparations for this large-scale, unparalleled operation included several meetings of the National Transit Commission, chaired by the Ministry of the Interior, as well as the organization of a Moroccan-Spanish meeting in Cadiz on May 29, in addition to thematic sectoral meetings. 5th Session of Strategic Dialogue: Morocco, UK Committed to Strengthening Bilateral Partnership Across Several Strategic Areas

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, David Lammy, co-chaired, Sunday in Rabat, the 5th session of the Strategic Dialogue between the two countries. This 5th session comes at a significant moment in the relations between the two countries, marked by the positive momentum in bilateral cooperation and by the UK's support for the Autonomy Plan presented by Morocco in 2007. It is distinguished by a shared commitment from both Ministers to open a new, more ambitious and forward-looking chapter of cooperation, for the benefit of both nations, including an African dimension aimed at contributing to peace, security and economic development across the continent. This new session provided an opportunity for the two Ministers to exchange views on questions of common interest and to reaffirm their commitment to further strengthening political and security dialogue, as well as deepening and diversifying economic partnership. Launched in London on July 5, 2018, this Strategic Dialogue serves as an important mechanism to consolidate the historic ties between the two Kingdoms and to further reinforce and deepen bilateral relations. The Strategic Dialogue is structured around key themes for strengthening bilateral cooperation: political, security, economic, cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and also covers regional, international, and multilateral issues.
