HIT 3 script entirely original, accusations are false, says Nani

The actor files counter affidavit denying plagiarism allegations made by a Tamil writer. Actor Nani has filed a counter affidavit in response to a recent petition by Tamil scriptwriter and author Vimalavelan, who alleged that the actor's recent Telugu film HIT: The Third Case was plagiarised from his script (Agent 11) and novel (Agent V). Nani claimed that the accusations are 'false, misleading and unfounded'. Since Vimalavelan's script is written in Tamil, Nani and the other respondents stated that they are not familiar with the language and have requested for its official English translation so that they can give an effective and informed response on the alleged similarities between both scripts. They also claimed that the similarities pointed out by Vimalavelan are standard tropes and recurring motifs in the thriller, crime, and investigative genres. 'These elements are not unique, distinctive, or original to the plaintiff's work, nor are they protectable under copyright law,' stated the affidavit while opposing the writer's request for an interim injunction. Vimalavelan had claimed that he sent the synopsis of his script to Nani's mail ID that was mentioned on his Facebook page in 2022, and that's how the actor accessed his script. Responding to the same, the affidavit countered the claim and stated that the email address is 'not actively monitored for unsolicited creative submissions, nor is it used as an official channel for receiving or reviewing story/scripts'. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Siemens Energy lidera com inovação Siemens Energy Saiba Mais Undo They also denied having reviewed or relied upon any email or material purportedly sent by the plaintiff. Madras HC issues notice to the makers of Nani's HIT: The Third Case

The Madras High Court has issued a notice to the makers of Nani 's HIT: The Third Case based on a petition filed by Tamil script writer and author Vimalavelan, who alleges that the film is an unauthorised adaptation of his original story. Vimalavelan, who co-writes with his wife under the pen name Sonia Vimal, claims that the film has been lifted from their registered script, titled Agent 11. In his plea, Vimalavelan has sought 20% of the total profits earned by the film, in addition to `1 crore as compensation for the alleged copyright violation. The statement from the South Indian Film Writers Association, which Vimalavelan shared with us, read, 'He had claimed that the theft of his work had caused him great loss and great mental anguish, and he had demanded justice.' An internal team within the association, having read the story concluded that there are similarities between the film and Vimalavelan's script. What happened? Vimalavelan claimed that, back in August 2022, he had sent the synopsis of his script to Nani's mail ID, with the intention of a possible collaboration. There was no response from the actor, and Vimalavelan published his story as a novel, Agent V, in October 2022. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trading CFD dengan Teknologi dan Kecepatan Lebih Baik IC Markets Mendaftar Undo He further states that the script, titled Agent 11, had been officially registered with the South Indian Film Writers Association. Compensation wasn't our target, but we have applied for it as part of the legal procedure. But how can the core plot be the same? Now, the mail ID has been deleted from Nani's Facebook page. In the next hearing, it's been ordered that someone from their side should be present. Even if we don't get compensation, we would have been happy if they had acknowledged us.
