File Photo by Jim Ruymen/UPI | License Photo July 18 (UPI) -- Bachelor alumni Nick Viall and his wife, Natalie Joy, are slated to host an age-gap dating reality series on Netflix. The streamer announced that the couple will helm Age of Attraction, which features participants between 22 and 59 years of age. "In this new dating experiment, it simply does not matter how many candles were on your last birthday cake or how few wrinkles have formed on your forehead," an official synopsis reads. "Age is thrown out the window as singles search for their soulmates with help from hosts Nick Viall and Natalie Joy." Viall, 44, is nearly two decades older than Joy, 26. They married in April of 2024, two months after their daughter River Rose Viall was born. In March, Joy shared that she was experiencing a second miscarriage. The couple had been dating about four years prior to marriage. Viall is well known for appearing in two seasons of The Bachelorette, where he courted Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe. He proposed to Vanessa Grimaldi after his season of The Bachelor, but the relationship didn't last, and he starred in Season 3 of Bachelor in Paradise.

Netflix announces new reality shows: Nick Viall to host 'Age-Gap Dating Show'

WASHINGTON: The streaming giant Netflix announced a set of new reality TV series on Thursday starring big names in an unscripted world, reported Variety. Among the new series is "Age of Attraction," which will follow a group of singles ages 22 to 59 as they date each other. Hosted by 44-year-old 'Bachelor' alum Nick Viall and his wife, 25-year-old Natalie Joy, the series aims to "see if age is just a number. Or will the years come between them?" as quoted by Variety. Harry Jowsey, who previously appeared in Netflix's 'Too Hot to Handle' and 'Perfect Match,' is looking for a wife via 'Let's Marry Harry.' Over the course of the series, his friends will help him narrow down a large pool of potential matches in hopes of finding someone to marry, reported Variety.

Netflix Orders ‘Age Of Attraction' Dating Format From Velvet Hammer Media

EXCLUSIVE: Does age matter when it comes to dating? That's the question for Netflix's latest entry into the dating pool. The streamer has greenlit Age of Attraction, a new dating format produced by Velvet Hammer Media, the company behind The CW's The Big Bakeover and Roku's Best Bite Wins. Adams In the series, age is thrown out the window when singles search for their soulmates, per the logline. Is love truly ageless, or will the years come between them? Sam Dean, who served as showrunner on Netflix's Love Is Blind and has exec produced series including FBoy Island, and David Friedman, exec produer of Netflix's Temptation Island and showrunner of Bullsh*t: The Game Show, will serve as showrunners of the series. Velvet Hammer Media bosses Jennifer O'Connell and Rebecca Quinn will also exec produce alongside their colleague Nick Alarcon, who has worked on series including Velvet Hammer's Empty Nest Refresh, will serve as co-EP. O'Connell and Quinn launched Velvet Hammer in 2023 after they previously oversaw unscripted content at the then titled HBO Max. Endeavor invested in the business later that year and they struck a deal with Issa Rae's Hoorae to produce unscripted content last year. The company is also in development with projects at Hulu, NBC and Amazon. Age Of Attraction comes as other shows realize the value of older contestants appearing on dating shows. ABC revealed earlier this week that season ten of Bachelor in Paradise will feature contestants from The Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette for the first time, while Netflix also recently launched docuseries The Later Daters, which features singletons in the 50s, 60s and 70s and is exec produced by Michelle Obama 'At VHM we live to create formats that feel fresh, bold, and binge-worthy. With Age of Attraction, we're asking audiences if age is truly just a number. We're thrilled to partner with Netflix—home to some of the most iconic and addictive dating shows out there—and to collaborate with our amazing creative partners, led by our talented showrunners Sam Dean and David Friedman,' O'Connell and Quinn said.
