9 Pairs of Jorts And The Summer Shoes To Pair Them With, From Jelly Shoes to Sneakerinas

It's safe to say that 2025 is the year of the hybrid garment, from sneakerinas (the trainer and ballet-shoe mash-up) to skirts-over-trousers. But none has gained pace quite like the jort. Longline denim shorts appeared on the Spring/Summer '25 catwalks at Etro, OpéraSport and Filippa K, and on showgoers themselves, who styled jorts from Agolde, Haikure and Diesel with baby tees, blazers, and oversized shirts, and some of our favourite summer shoes – but more on that later. Borrowing from both jeans and shorts, jorts tend to be longer than your classic cutoffs, baggier than a bermuda, and come in all manner of washes, from smart indigo and white rinses to classic, worn-in blue. Crucially, they look just as good with a comfy and cool fisherman sandal or jelly shoe as they do with kitten-heel mules and strappy heels. It turns out that all you really need for the perfect hot-weather outfit are some great jorts and a pair of one of summer's trending shoes, and everything else just falls into place. From pastel jorts and kitten heels to baggy denim shorts and flip flops, we have compiled a guide to the perfect jort-shoe pairings, below. Kitten heels temper the boyishness of the jort; one needs only to look at Opéra Sport's Spring/Summer '25 collection, where true-blue denim was paired with strappy mules, for proof. We especially love content creator Liv Madeline's unexpected pairing of lemon-yellow and claret-red. Two summers in and the jelly shoe is still going strong, from Chloé's kitten-heel iteration to Ancient Greek Sandals' Iro ballet flats. On holiday, style them with Agolde's high-waist jorts and a smocked crop top. Jorts in a lighter wash – either cream, white or ecru – have a preppy feel, especially when teamed with a matching jacket. Play to this with classic ballet flats, or inject a little edge with a Tabi shoe – Margiela's painted pair nods to the history of the brand, when the designer would repurpose unsold boots for fashion shows by painting them. Here we see stylist Allison Bornstein's 'wrong shoe theory' in action – a pair of sneakerinas (the trainer-meets-ballet-shoe hybrid) and crisp, indigo-rinse culottes. And, well, it works. The sneakerinas at the top of our list include the Puma Speedcat Ballet, Adidas Taekwondo Mae, and Ganni's lace-up ballet flats. Longtime jorts fan Hailey Bieber is particularly partial to a vintage, bleach-wash pair by Levi's, which she always wears with white socks and a rotation of shoes, including fisherman sandals, trainers (both slimline and chunky) and, our favourite, loafers. We love how they put a preppy twist on an otherwise casual outfit. Once relegated to the beach and poolside, flip flops have risen up as a fashion staple. You can't go wrong when teaming a black pair with baggy blue jorts and a white shirt, though you may also want to consider some laden with crystals (by Loeffler Randall), rivets, or dangly charms, as seen in Gimaguas' viral collab with Havaianas. There are few garments that have remained virtually unchanged since ancient times, but the fisherman sandal is one. We can attribute the shoe's more recent revival to The Row, whose caged sandal debuted in 2019 and continues to be relevant today. Opt for a pair with a slimmer profile to wear with sleek, raw denim jorts and an elegant blouse. 3D flower-appliquéd heels are decidedly more unexpected than the usual summertime floral motifs. Moreover, they transform a classic blue-jorts-and-white-shirt outfit. Cult Gaia's Cassidy sandals, which create the effect of calla lilies entwining the feet, are high on our wish lists. Technically, denim cutoffs classify as jorts (they are jean-shorts, after all), and, since they are a longstanding summer staple, we are including them here. We're still thinking about this outfit Bella Hadid wore this time last year, which includes the aforementioned Daisy Dukes (the more frayed, the better), a pair of cowboy boots, and a fitted tee. The Devil Wears Prada Sequel Is Coming – Here's Where To Get The Exact Outfits

Gabriela Hearst, Maxi Dress Tilly Sveaas, T Bar Necklace Agolde, Hilla Frayed Organic Denim Maxi Skirt Marks & Spencer, Denim Maxi Skirt Maje, Flat Leather Sandals Celine, Cat-Eye Sunglasses Reformation, Taryn Two Piece Max Mara, Plata Faux Leather Midi Skirt Damson Madder, Camille Trench Ralph Lauren, Lanette Leather Pump Gird your loins, our first look at Andrea Sachs is finally in. Filming is officially underway for The Devil Wears Prada 2, and if the first looks are any indication, there's plenty of sartorial inspiration to be found at Runway yet again. After nearly 20 years, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt are all reprising their iconic roles in what is perhaps one of the most anticipated movie sequels of our time. While the film is not set to hit the big screen until May 2026, paparazzi pictures of Hathaway filming in Manhattan have already begun streaming in, and it's shaping up to be quite groundbreaking indeed. Much like the original, the sequel promises a dramatic insight into the world of publishing with Miranda Priestly facing the collapse of print media in the digital age and finding herself contending with former assistant Emily Charlton, who's rumoured to play a luxury executive. While Andy's role in this is still unclear, we already know four looks she'll be sporting in the film. So far, we've seen Hathaway in an archival Jean Paul Gaultier co-ord set, a zip-up denim jumpsuit from Re/Done, a patchworked maxi, and a sleek tank top and denim maxi skirt combo from fashion editor-favourite brands Toteme and Agolde. A mix of archival designer numbers and surprisingly affordable pieces, all of Andy's looks so far hint at a more chic character, far removed from her early days at Runway , although with a hint of her chaotic personal style (see: the Re/Done denim jumpsuit styled with chunky dad sandals). Over on TikTok, eagle-eyed fans also spotted Hathaway wearing a certain cerulean blue jumper (not turquoise, not lapis), and while we're pretty certain it's not the exact style from the original, we do appreciate the fashion Easter egg. Our favourite look of them all? The patchworked Gabriela Hearst number, styled with a pair of Chloé platform sandals, a blue Fendi basket bag ( Nigel would definitely approve), and Bvlgari sunglasses. A bit kitchsy and fun, our obsession with the look is actually down to the unassuming runway-embellished garment bag in her hand, suggesting that Sachs still works at the high fashion magazine, despite quitting at the end of the original movie. Surprisingly, many of the key pieces we've seen so far, including the Toteme Ribbed Tank Top, Celine cat-eye sunglasses, and the Gabriela Hearst maxi dress, are still in stock, So whether you're looking to recreate her exact outfits or shop similar staples (we've included some excellent affordable alternatives below), it's your lucky day. But will they earn the Miranda Priestly seal of approval? We'll find out come May. Hathaway was spotted wearing an incredibly bold Gabriela Hearst dress for what looks like a trip to the Hamptons. Leaning into the summer vibe, the dress was styled with a pair of Chloé platform sandals, a blue Fendi bag, a crochet bucket hat and Bvlgari sunglasses. As for jewellery, the actress wore a stack of pearl necklaces with a gold diamond toggle pendant necklace by Jemma Wynne, but you can shop a similar one from Tilly Sveaas. Gabriela Hearst, Maxi Dress Toast, Check Dress Fendi, Basket Forty8 Bag Tilly Sveaas, T Bar Necklace Hathaway also wore the off-duty outfit of our dreams, pairing a simple denim maxi skirt from Agolde with a clean cut Toteme tank top. For footwear, she opted for a pair of chunky Chanel velcro sandals, while her Bvlgari sunglasses also made a reappearance. She completed the look with a studded Valentino Garavani Panthea bag, adding a hint of biker charm. Get her look with a similar jumpsuit from Whistles – simply add some iron-on patches. (Photo by Aeon/GC Images) Whistles, Denim Jumpsuit Celine, Cat-Eye Sunglasses Price: £400 The first look Hathaway was spotted in was naturally a fashion heavy-hitter: vintage pinstriped waistcoat and trousers set from Jean Paul Gaultier, paired with an archival Coach Saddle Pouch, finished with a pair of pointed-toe heeled boots. But fret not, we've found a similar two-piece from Reformation. NEW YORK, NY - JULY 21: Anne Hathaway is seen on the set of 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' on July 21, 2025 in New York, New York. While we're uncertain about the exact provenance of her look, we're definitely adding the tan leather skirt and beige trench coat paired with a bright purple blouse to our work rotation. ©Getty Images/Jose Perez/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images Damson Madder, Camille Trench Hobbs, Peony Blouse Ralph Lauren, Lanette Leather Pump Emma Richardson is a fashion commerce writer for Grazia. It features a high-rise waistline and modern light-wash look that's almost identical. The difference? This one has a midi length and front slit, which makes it more comfortable to wear — especially on hot days. Designed with top-tier quality in mind, the fabric consists of breathable and stretchy materials like cotton, polyester, rayon and spandex. While it comes in a spot-on faded denim, it's also available in a few other washes like cream and medium blue washes. Even though it's still gaining traction in the reviews section, shoppers are already loving it. One shopper who said it's not a style they'd 'normally go for' claimed that stepping out of their comfort zone 'paid off.' They even wrote that "this skirt is so comfortable and weirdly flattering." They also appreciated the comfortability: 'The denim has just the right amount of stretch, making it easy to move in while keeping its shape,' they wrote. Now's the perfect time to pick up this denim skirt, especially since it's a versatile staple for the summer-to-fall transition. 10 ways to wear denim in a heatwave — from maxi dresses to jorts, here's how to look and stay cool

Denim is a staple in a majority of our wardrobes. However, jeans are probably the last thing you think of wearing when the temperature is skyrocketing. Tight-fitting, heavyweight and complete with plenty of buttons and zips, they aren't exactly a summer-friendly item. However, there are plenty of different ways to wear denim outside of a traditional jean. While staying cool is obvs top of the agenda, summer is also a time to experiment with your style and try something new. As always, we're here to offer up plenty of outfit inspo, combined with practical tips. Let's get into it. Maxi dresses were made for summer, but a denim fabric gives the longer silhouette an unexpected twist. Opt for a lightweight, 100% cotton denim where possible to ensure you don't get too hot. We love this wearer's cut-out Zimmermann style — another way to add some breathability. Utility workwear is a vibe — and featured heavily throughout Resort 2026 collections, including Tory Burch, Stella McCartney and Courrèges. A cargo denim jumpsuit is a ready-made outfit. Choose a style with short sleeves and a baggy fit to make sure you stay cool and comfy. You could even go for a romper with shorter cut legs for ultra-hot days; Wrangler currently has some excellent options. Midi skirts are everywhere right now — they're easier to navigate than a maxi (no tripping over) and more office appropriate than a mini. This wearer has leaned into the 90's aesthetic in a major way with her scarf belt and bandana. Waistcoats worn as tops are another way to stay cool and look stylish. Because of the structured fit, you can also forgo wearing a bra — less layers to sweat through! The balance of this wearer's outfit, with the Agolde denim and silk slip skirt, is *chef's kiss*. Short shorts are the must-have festival wardrobe item of the summer. While you can go classic with a blue frayed pair, why not mix it up a bit, like this wearer in her pastel green Ganni co-ord. Pair with knee-high boots and you're Glasto ready. The humble denim jacket really comes into its own in summer. A light or bleached wash is perfect for this time of year, and adds an extra dimension to an outfit without adding too much warmth. Throw over your shoulders with any outfit. Bubble skirts continue to trend, and while they're typically seen in a poplin or similar lightweight fabric, who's to say denim can't get in on the action? Take this wearer's light wash, mini style, worn with a loose-fitting T-shirt and trainers. It's sleeveless season, and this is probably one of the best ways to wear denim in the heat. The high street is currently chock-a-block with sleeveless denim tops, including Cos, Next and John Lewis. While you could do a double denim set like this wearer, you could also pair with linen trousers or shorts for an easy, breezy combo. Jean shorts, or jorts as they are more commonly known, have us in a chokehold. Dress up or down, wear them low slung or high waisted, but always keep the fit baggy. See our full guide on what to wear with them here, but shout-out to this heat-ready wearer who has styled hers with a flannel shirt (the perfect lightweight layering piece) and thong heeled sandals. OK, so we said no jeans but…when else can you wear white ones, if not in summer? Lest we remind you that white reflects heat, so dressing head-to-toe in it is practically science. Make a contrasting statement with a bright and colourful shoe. Rebecca Jane Hill is the Senior Fashion Editor at Cosmopolitan UK.
