Factory, workers' quarters in Menggatal go up in smoke
A factory and workers' quarters in Menggatal destroyed in the fire.
KOTA KINABALU (April 29): A factory and workers' quarters in Menggatal were destroyed in an early morning fire on Tuesday.
Lintas fire station chief Agustavia Joe Guasi said 24 firefighters from Lintas, Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran fire stations were deployed to the location upon receiving a distress call at 3.50am.
The fire destroyed the factory, workers' quarters, a tanker truck, a fork lift, a Proton Satria car and a pick-up truck.
Firefighters only managed to control the blaze by 5am, said Agustavia.
No untoward incident was reported while the cause of the fire and total loss are under investigation.
