Deion Sanders' partnership with Nike dates back to 1992 when "Prime Time" was a two-way athlete playing for the NFL's Atlanta Falcons and MLB's Atlanta Braves.

In July 2023, the pair reunited when Coach Prime was hired as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes. The University of Colorado is a Nike-sponsored school.
Since then, Nike has released countless colorways of Sanders' shoes, particularly for the Air Diamond Turf and Air DT Max '96.
On Tuesday, Sanders' youngest child, Shelomi Sanders, shared a red and white colorway of Nike's Air DT Max '96 with her father tagged in the post, along with a caption that read, "Been waiting on these 🤭😝."

This "Varsity Red" colorway is described as having "white leather on the uppers highlighting Varsity Red detailing all throughout the design." "This retro trainer will also include black accents on the tongue, outsole, and all inside the liner," according to Oscar Ramirez of Sneaker Files.

In May, Nike released an all-red Nike Air DT Max '96 colorway called "Love Letter to Connie," which paid tribute to Deion Sanders' mother.

Shelomi is one of Sanders' five children. The 21-year-old is a guard on the Alabama A&M Bulldogs women's basketball team.
She began her collegiate career alongside her father and brothers at Jackson State before transferring to the University of Colorado to stay close to her family two years ago.
Ahead of last season, she transferred to Alabama A&M. She enjoyed her most productive season yet, playing in 26 games off the bench.
