Lepakshi: Special Chief Secretary for Tourism and Culture Ajay Jain accompanied by Sri Sathya Sai District Collector T S Chetan, visited the revered Sri Veerabhadra Swamy temple in Lepakshi. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed by temple priests amid chanting of Vedic hymns. During the visit, Ajay Jain and Collector Chetan performed special prayers and participated in a ceremonial Archana. The priests offered them Teertha Prasadam, Vedic blessings and mementoes to mark the occasion. A temple guide explained the historical and architectural significance of the ancient shrine. Tehsildar Soujanya Lakshmi, tourism manager Pratap Reddy and other officials were also present during the visit.

Puttaparthi, (Sri Sathya Sai district): In view of the upcoming 100th birth anniversary celebrations of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba scheduled for November 22–23, senior officials led by Ajay Jain, Special Chief Secretary of Tourism and Culture, conducted a comprehensive review of preparatory works in Puttaparthi. He was accompanied by District Collector T.S. Chetan, SP Ratna, Joint Collector Abhishek Kumar and Puttaparthi MLA Palle Sindhura Reddy. The team visited key locations including the helipad, West Gate to Outer Ring Road, and NH-44 near the Sri Sathya Sai Airport. Instructions were issued for beautification works, road repairs, improved lighting, and installation of a Sri Sathya Sai statue at the West Gate Circle. MLA Palle Sindhura Reddy requested special funds for infrastructure development in view of the celebrations. She thanked Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for recognising the centenary fete as a State-level festival and for the prompt issuance of official orders to that effect. During a review meeting held at the District Collectorate, the MLA emphasised the importance of showcasing Puttaparthi as a global spiritual destination. She urged that the festivities be conducted with grandeur and spiritual fervour, reflecting Baba's universal legacy. Former minister Dr Palle Raghunatha Reddy also stressed the need for better infrastructure, expecting over one million visitors from across the globe. Ajay Jain assured the release of Rs 105 crore in special funds and expressed satisfaction with the district administration's preparedness. He also confirmed that a high-level committee will be formed to oversee arrangements and coordinate with relevant departments. Officials were directed to expedite works in areas such as Chitravathi Riverfront, Shilparamam, theme parks, and key approach roads. Enhanced amenities like lighting, sanitation, drinking water, and public restrooms were also prioritised. The celebrations, set to span 25 days in November, will receive focused attention from the State government, with regular reviews to ensure timely execution of all development works.

1 2 3 Bokaro: A resident was on Monday accused of illegally withdrawing Rs 81 lakh from the bank account of land compensation recipient Madan Prasad in Petarwar block of district. Deputy commissioner (DC) Ajay Nath Jha said, "Accused Ajay Jain alias Pannu allegedly gained the trust of Madan Prasad, who had been working at his residence for years, and deceitfully withdrew money from his account. Prasad was one of the raiyats compensated under the Bharatmala land acquisition project, the district administration said. "Jain reportedly took thumb impressions of Madan on blank cheques and used them to siphon off Rs 81 lakh over nine fraudulent transactions. Bank statements reveal that Rs 9 lakh was withdrawn in cash three times on June 6, June 7, and June 10, 2024 from the Petarwar branch of the Punjab National Bank . Several transactions were also made to the bank accounts of Ajay Jain and his wife," the DC added. Madan's family members and other local rayyats (land owners) protested outside Ajay Jain's house, demanding justice. Calling upon residents to "be aware before giving any signature or thumb impression on financial papers", DC Jha said, "A thorough inquiry has been ordered. The accused will face strict legal action, if found guilty."

Vijayawada: Representatives from the AP Star Hotels Association met with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh, Special Chief Secretary Ajay Jain, APDCC Chairman Nukala Balaji, and APTA CEO Amrapali Kata as part of the Tourism Conclave Tech AI 2.0. The delegation presented their suggestions on tourism development, technology utilisation, and policy implementation. The delegation included prominent industry figures such as Prabhu Kishore (chairman, Novotel Varun Group), Gokaraju Gangaraju (chairman, Lemon Tree Premier), Malineni Rajayya (MD, Taj Vivanta), Muthavarapu Murali Krishna (MD, Fortune Murali Park), RV Swamy (President, AP Star Hotels Association), S Murthy Chitturi (General Secretary), Venkat (Vice-President), and Sharan Valluru (MD, GRT Grand Vijayawada). During the meeting, the association highlighted the benefits of leveraging AI-powered technology and digital tools in the tourism sector to enhance service quality and strengthen operational efficiency. The Chief Minister responded positively to the idea of partnering with the industry. A primary request from the association was to extend the full benefits of 'Industry Status' (including power, water, and property tax subsidies) not only to newly constructed hotels but also to existing star hotels operating in the State. While acknowledging that capital subsidies would apply only to new projects, they urged for recurring benefits to be equally applicable to all hotels. Additionally, the association proposed that hotels be classified under the 'Green Category' in environmental regulations, rather than Orange or Red. Both Chief Minister Naidu and Tourism Minister Durgesh responded favourably, assuring the delegation that their proposals would be carefully considered and addressed appropriately. The two-day conclave was spearheaded by SP Takkar, former Chief Secretary and Chairman of the Global Foundation for Sustainable Transformation (GFST). Delegates from various sectors were divided into six thematic groups, engaging in 3-4 hour discussions. All recommendations were presented to the Chief Minister by Ajay Jain (IAS). Notably, more than 150 MoUs were signed during the conclave. The AP Star Hotels Association affirmed its unwavering commitment to collaborate with the government to further strengthen the tourism sector in the State.

Tent city near Suryalanka beach to ease tourist rush

1 2 Vijayawada: In a move to promote Suryalanka beach in Bapatla district as a prime tourist location, the state govt has decided to improve the infrastructure near the beach. The tourism department is gearing up to construct a tent city to provide shelter to the visiting tourists. The existing facilities are found inadequate as they are getting packed almost three months in advance. There is heavy rush particularly for accommodation during the weekends. Taking the inadequate poor infrastructure on the beach into consideration, the tourism department has decided to go for development of tent city to create additional rooms. The tourism development corporation (APTDC) owns a resort in which 32 rooms were available. Recently, the corporation has launched work to construct another seven rooms to enhance facilities after the Union govt released about Rs 98 crore under Swadeshi Sandarshan-II scheme. The tourism department has planned several developmental works in addition to the construction of rooms for accommodation. We can't wait for months and years to provide accommodation. So, going for tent city model is quick remedy," said ourism department special chief secretary Ajay Jain. Taking the recent trend of tourists into consideration, APTDC has decided to develop a 50-room tent city. This project would be taken up in PPP model to avoid financial burden on the exchequer.
