Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University has approved the proposal to start four-year undergraduate courses at the university under the National Education Policy, in its academic council meeting held on Wednesday. The first batch will graduate to the fourth year from the new session. 'In the meeting of the academic council, the proposal to start a four-year undergraduate course in the university under the National Education Policy was also approved. Students will be able to take admission in it from the academic session 2025-26. Students who have secured 7.5 CGPA marks during the three-year graduation studies will be considered eligible for admission in it,' registrar Mahesh Kumar said. PG course in political science It was decided to start postgraduate studies in the department of political science from the new session. This course will start under the self-financing system and approved in the meeting of the academic council. Political science is being taught at undergraduate level at the language university. It was decided to start a PG course in the subject on the increasing demand of the students, vice-chancellor Prof Ajay Taneja said. Certificate courses to start Registrar Mahesh Kumar said that some certificate courses are also to be started under the faculty of science in the university. A committee of teachers has been formed to consider this. The proposals of the Board of Studies meeting held in various departments in the academic council were also approved. Decision on dismissal of teachers The meeting of the executive council will be held in Bhasha University on Thursday. In this, the fate of two teachers who were dismissed on March 10, 2024, after being found guilty of getting appointment without fulfilling the educational qualification will be decided. After being dismissed, they had made a representation to the governor who had ordered the matter be investigated by a high-level committee and settle it in the executive council.

Lucknow: To cater to students from diverse backgrounds, the Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti Language University (KMCLU), which already offers technical and professional courses in Indian languages such as Hindi, Sanskrit and Urdu, will offer three international languages from the 2025-26 session. KMCLU vice chancellor Prof Ajay Taneja said apart from Sanskrit, Urdu and Hindi, the university will also offer Chinese, Japanese and Pali. At KMCLU, all undergraduate students are encouraged to study at least one Indian or foreign language, enhancing their communication skills and cultural competence. The VC said that the university's language laboratories have also been upgraded with advanced technology and language software. "The university has established four state-of-the-art language laboratories. These labs have modern software and tools to facilitate immersive learning. This aligns with the national vision of transforming lab-based knowledge into real-world applications, echoing the 'Lab to Land' philosophy," he added. He said, "We offer courses on translation, interpretation, grammar and vocabulary enrichment as part of the regular academic schedule."

KMCLU begins admission process for 76 courses

The admission to 76 courses at Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University (KMCLU) has been initiated, shared KMCLU vice chancellor Prof Ajay Taneja on Tuesday. He said there are 2,590 seats in 46 undergraduate courses and 936 seats in 18 postgraduate courses and 390 seats in diploma/certificate courses in the university. The application forms are available on the official website of the university The admission forms for general and OBC candidates will be available for ₹500 while for SC/ST candidates the forms will be available for ₹250. The forms for diploma programmes will be available for ₹100. The forms can be filled latest by June 15. Students must submit self-attested photocopies of the required documents along with the application form. The original migration/transfer certificate should be submitted at the time of counselling. This year the university is starting an undergraduate four-year apprenticeship programme - BCom (Retail Operations Management). The course will cost ₹30,150 annually. 'We are also starting a student-centric initiative wherein each student would be provided financial assistance of Rs. 20,000 to support studies rooted in India's traditional knowledge systems,' said Prof Taneja. He also assured that all pending faculty promotions would be expedited and while underscoring his three key priorities he listed - streamlining the admission process in mission mode, promoting research and innovation across disciplines, and ensuring the successful completion of the university's NAAC accreditation process. He also reaffirmed his commitment to implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) across teaching and academic frameworks.

He added that all pending promotions of faculty members will be handled quickly and that the admission process will be made smoother and faster. "We are here to bring positive changes. From admission to academics, everything will be made better," he said. He also announced that new foreign language programmes will soon be introduced and postgraduate courses will be launched in subjects that currently have only undergraduate programmes. Recruitment for vacant posts, both teaching and non-teaching, will begin soon.
