Summer in UAE: Ajman Police distribute free ice cream, refreshments to workers
As temperatures soar close to 50°C in the country, most residents look for some respite from the heat. Ajman Police, in a show of compassion and warmth, distributed cold water and other refreshments to labourers in the area. The authority could be seen handing out packets of juice, laban and small cups of ice cream in the labour community. Officers were also handing out these freebies to other residents passing by. Watch the video below: This isn't the first time that the authority has conducted such an initiative. In 2023, it launched the 'We Come to You, Our Summer is Cool' campaign. It visited several sites to meet workers in an attempt to keep workers happy throughout the summer.

UAE: Ajman updates hours of banning heavy vehicle movement on 2 streets
Ajman has updated the hours during which the movement of heavy vehicles on two major roads will be banned, the emirate's police said on Friday. During the morning, heavy trucks will be banned from using these streets from 5.30am to 9am, whereas in the afternoon and evening, they will not be allowed between 2pm and 9.30pm. The police authority clarified that these adjustments, which apply on Sheikh Zayed Street and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Street, will go into effect starting Tuesday, July 22. Take a look at the affected streets shown on the map: On all other Ajman roads, however, a full ban on heavy vehicle movement remains in effect, the authority stated. In 2019, heavy vehicles were banned from Mohamed bin Zayed Road in Ajman, as well as on the opposite direction from Umm Al Quwain towards Sharjah from 5.30am to 12am.

UAE: After 35 years, daughter living abroad reunites with father in Sharjah
A girl who is not residing in the UAE was reunited with her father after decades of separation, thanks to Sharjah Police. It all started when the girl sent a plea to the emirate's police authority, expressing her desire to reconnect with her father who lives in the UAE. Family circumstances led to over 35 years of separation and a severed relationship between the father and his daughter. Sharjah Police reacted swiftly to the plea, and a task force contacted the girl. No further procedures were requested, and all the documents for the reunion were handled. She was provided with a travel ticket to come to the UAE and meet her father. Specialists in social support were also present at the place of the reunion to guarantee a safe and supportive environment. The initiative "embodies the force's commitment to supporting various segments of society, contributing to the reunification of families, and enhancing their stability," Brigadier General Dr Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, Director General of the Department of Community Protection and Prevention was quoted by the police as saying. In a similar touching act of kindness and a reflection of deep-rooted Emirati values, Ajman Police recently helped fulfil the lifelong dream of a Sri Lankan woman by reuniting her with the Emirati family she had served over 40 years ago.

Ajman unveils major road project to support urban growth
The Sheikh Zayed Street Development Project has officially been inaugurated in Ajman's Al Helio area. Stretching 2.8 km, the development comes at a cost of AED 63 million. Launched under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, the project is a joint effort by the Ajman Municipality & Planning Department and Ajman Police. It's part of the emirate's broader push to modernize infrastructure and support urban growth, while improving the quality of life for residents. Ajman inaugurates Dhs63m Sheikh Zayed Street Development Project in Al Helio area
