Nicki Minaj brings up Drake while reigniting tension with SZA
Nicki Minaj continued her public feud with singer SZA this week, making a series of controversial remarks online, including an eyebrow-raising comment about rapper Drake. The tension between the two artists stems from Minaj's suspicion that SZA supported her former manager, Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) president Terrence "Punch" Henderson, amid one of Minaj's earlier outbursts. In a now-viral tweet, shared by Akademiks TV, Minaj alleged that she was Drake's original choice to appear alongside Sexyy Red on the track 'Rich Baby Daddy' from his For All the Dogs album. 'I wonder if she know I turned down being on the 'shake dat a** for Drake' song,' Minaj wrote. 'He wanted me & Sexy on it... I said I want to wait for PF2 for me & him to do a Dricki song so it felt more special.' Nicki Minaj reveals Drake originally wanted her and Sexyy Red to be on 'Rich Baby Daddy,' but she turned the offer down, wanting her and Drake to collaborate on her album. Nicki continues violating SZA. — Akademiks TV (@AkademiksTV) July 17, 2025 Minaj didn't hold back, further insulting SZA with an inflammatory statement. "Now that silly goose still out here shaking dat a** for Drake every day. After swallowing his b-lls. Allegedly. Oh Mza give it up," she added. Though she did not provide evidence for the claims, the comments quickly drew attention due to their graphic and personal nature. Drake and SZA previously dated briefly in 2009, as mentioned in the 21 Savage track 'Mr. Right Now,' according to Complex. SZA has not directly responded to the latest accusations but recently addressed Minaj's earlier insults, writing on X, 'I don't give a fck bout none of that weird sht you popping... Y'all have blessed night!' Minaj also directed criticism at other industry figures this week, including Jay-Z and Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez. She even contacted the FBI after interpreting comments made by TDE affiliate MackWop as a potential threat during a livestream.

50 Cent edits Father's Day post after referencing custody battle with ex Daphne Joy
On Sunday, June 15, rapper 50 Cent posted a controversial Father's Day message on Instagram that appeared to reference his ongoing custody battle with ex-girlfriend Daphne Joy. Initially, the caption included a derogatory message suggesting he would soon gain full custody of their son, Sire Jackson. However, the original caption was quickly edited, with screenshots of the unedited version circulating on X via Akademiks TV. 50 Cent responds to his son saying he wants 50 to post a photo of them for Fathers Day — Akademiks TV (@AkademiksTV) June 15, 2025 50 Cent speaks — Akademiks TV (@AkademiksTV) June 15, 2025 The updated caption read simply, 'Happy Fathers Day guys. What did you get?'—a notable change from the harsher original message, which included repeated insults. Many online users criticized the tone of the deleted post, while others speculated it was directed at Joy, a social media personality and OnlyFans model whom 50 Cent dated in 2011–2012. This year's Father's Day post reignited public attention on the pair's strained relationship. In March 2024, 50 Cent—born Curtis Jackson—filed for sole custody of their son, following allegations that Joy was financially involved with music mogul Diddy. Shortly after the filing, Joy accused Jackson of rape and abuse in an emotional Instagram story, stating that he had rarely seen their son despite living nearby. 'You have permanently damaged the last hope I had for you as a father to preserve our family,' Joy wrote, also accusing him of 'wreaking havoc' in her life. In response, Jackson filed a defamation suit, though it was reportedly dropped in September 2024.

Travis Hunter's wife Leanna Lenee cheated on him? Leaked video controversy surfaces on wedding day
HBCU football star and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter married his fiancée, Leanna De La Fuente, aka Leanna Lenee, in a private ceremony on Saturday in Athens, Tennessee. However, soon after the two tied the knot, claims about Lenee cheating on Hunter resurfaced. The couple met in 2022 and were engaged in February 2024. Hunter and Lenee's relationship faced intense public scrutiny last year, over allegations of the latter cheating on the Colorado star. Alleged leaked videos and DMs from 2020–2021 resurfaced in December 2024, after they were posted by DJ Akademiks on X. They allegedly showed Lenee talking with an unidentified man in 2020. Read More: Brittney Griner walks away from interview, hurls F word at referee amid Caitlin Clark racial slur row The content suggested flirtation, but its authenticity is unverified, and the timeline (pre-2022) aligns with Lenee's claim that she was not yet exclusive with Hunter. Then, a video from 2021, shared by Akademiks TV and reported by HotNewHipHop, showed a woman resembling Lenee twerking with another man at a party. Another clip allegedly depicted her in a man's bed, filmed on Snapchat. A separate video showed Lenee in an ex-boyfriend's music video, and a photo allegedly shows a man touching her inappropriately. Hunter staunchly defended Lenee, saying on Twitch, 'I know my girl. My girl's been with me for five years." He further dismissed critics as 'clickbait.' Lenee, in a December 2024 TikTok video, clarified she ignored Hunter's initial DMs in 2020 because he was dating someone else, emphasizing her stance against 'home-wrecking.' She denied cheating and attributed backlash to misinterpretations of her past. Both deactivated social media accounts in December 2024 amid trolling, with Lenee making her accounts private. However, none of these rumors apparently mattered to Travis Hunter, who seemed to be on cloud 9 during Saturday's wedding ceremony. He also surprised his wife with a black Mercedes-Benz AMG.

Justina Valentine faces major backlash after mocking Shannon Sharpe's sexual assault scandal on her own podcast
Justina Valentine sparked viral reactions after making a joke about Shannon Sharpe's ongoing sexual assault lawsuit (Getty Images) Comedian and rapper Justina Valentine sparked viral reactions this week after making a daring joke about Shannon Sharpe's ongoing sexual assault lawsuit—right to his face, and on his own podcast. The moment, which aired on the May 19 episode of Nightcap with co-host Chad 'Ochocinco' Johnson, struck a nerve with audiences as it blurred the line between comedy and controversy. A comedian's edge or too far? Public reaction to Justina Valentine's jab — AkademiksTV (@AkademiksTV) As the show neared its end, Shannon Sharpe casually mentioned that he might never have had a white woman as a guest on his other show, Club Shay Shay. Justina Valentine didn't miss a beat: 'Well, Shay Shay, we know what happens with you and white women, but I'm a different kind... I've been to the cookout for a long time now. Don't worry about it." The room erupted in laughter, including Sharpe, Ochocinco, and guest Joe Johnson, but viewers outside the studio had mixed reactions. Some praised Valentine's quick wit, while others criticized the timing and sensitivity of referencing a lawsuit involving serious allegations. Valentine's comment came just weeks after Sharpe was accused of sexual assault and battery by a woman identified only as Jane Doe. Filed in April in Clark County, Nevada, the lawsuit alleges two incidents of assault during what the accuser describes as a previously consensual relationship. She's seeking $50 million in damages and claims Sharpe became abusive and threatening, even recording private encounters without her consent. While Sharpe has firmly denied all accusations—calling the case a 'shakedown' and blaming attorney Tony Buzbee for manipulating media narratives—the case has nonetheless cast a shadow over his media career. He temporarily stepped away from ESPN duties in late April to address what he called 'false and disruptive allegations.' Despite the severity of the claims, Sharpe remains publicly confident. 'Everybody knows what I'm going through. Lot of people have a lot to say,' he acknowledged on a recent episode of Nightcap. 'Fifty percent of the people don't care that you got problems. The other 50 percent glad that you got them.'
