Fayez: A National Effort Is Needed to Tackle Poverty, Unemployment, and Budget Deficit - Jordan News
President of the Jordanian Senate, Faisal Al-Fayez, met Thursday with a number of Jordanian experts and specialists in the fields of economy, renewable energy, agriculture, environment, water resources, and the optimal use of saline and deep water. اضافة اعلان During the meeting, Al-Fayez was briefed in detail on the economic feasibility of several studies prepared by the attendees, which aim to address Jordan's pressing economic challenges, alleviate unemployment and public debt, resolve the water crisis, and support the transition to cost-effective clean energy—if properly adopted and implemented. Al-Fayez stressed that Jordan's economic challenges require a comprehensive national effort to overcome them, reduce poverty and unemployment, narrow the public budget deficit, boost economic growth, and enhance self-reliance. He confirmed that all the studies presented will be referred to the relevant Senate committees for review and recommendation, after which the findings will be submitted to the government and followed up with stakeholders for implementation. He commended the presenters for their significant efforts and their commitment to strengthening Jordan's economic resilience. Dr. Mohammad Al-Farajat, one of the experts, presented a strategic study aimed at revitalizing the economy and strengthening national security for the period 2025–2030. The study, titled 'Toward Comprehensive Productivity, Financial Reconciliation, and Equitable Geographic Development,' outlines an approach to save up to 3 billion dinars. Al-Farajat emphasized that Jordan is facing a pivotal phase that requires a comprehensive national response to restructure the economy based on productivity, equity, and sustainability. His strategy calls for broad financial reconciliation to stimulate the domestic market, strategic investment in a new city and productive villages, equitable geographic development, and the strategic utilization of the eastern desert for security and development purposes. It also involves engaging future generations in development projects reliant on renewable energy and deep groundwater resources in the Badia region to reduce financial burdens and promote self-sufficiency, all while enhancing national security and attracting foreign investment. He explained that implementing the strategy would yield multiple benefits, including stimulating local markets, increasing liquidity, reinforcing social stability, reducing unemployment, and attracting foreign capital. Al-Farajat described the initiative as a new strategic path grounded in Jordan's realities and challenges—one that transforms public debt into a lever for sustainable green development, backed by climate justice. He viewed it as a historic opportunity to reshape the relationship between international financing and economic sovereignty while ensuring a more just and stable economic and environmental future.

Fayez: Middle East Conflicts Rooted in Israel's Aggressive and Expansionist Policies - Jordan News
President of the Jordanian Senate, Faisal Al-Fayez, along with members of the Senate's Arab and International Affairs Committee, met with a British parliamentary delegation to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and review developments in the region. اضافة اعلان During the meeting, chaired by Senator Ali Al-Ayed, Al-Fayez emphasized the deep-rooted ties between Jordan and the United Kingdom, built on mutual respect and the shared interests of both nations and peoples. He expressed appreciation for the UK's continued support for Jordan's economic development programs, which help the country cope with the consequences of regional crises. Al-Fayez highlighted Jordan's efforts, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, to facilitate the entry of urgent humanitarian aid into Gaza and to enable UN relief agencies, including UNRWA, to operate and alleviate the humanitarian catastrophe. He called for international parliamentary action to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza and to allow unimpeded delivery of humanitarian and medical aid. He reaffirmed Jordan's steadfast positions on regional issues, particularly its unwavering support for a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause, based on international legitimacy and the two-state solution. He rejected any solutions that undermine Jordan's national interests or its Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. Al-Fayez stressed that the ongoing political and security crises in the Middle East are largely rooted in Israel's aggressive and expansionist policies, particularly its attacks on the Palestinian people in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, which constitute crimes against humanity, including policies of starvation, massacres, and war crimes. He warned that Israel's continued extremism and expansionism poses a threat to regional and global stability. Senator Al-Ayed echoed the importance of expanding cooperation and building on the historic ties between the two countries, as well as enhancing joint parliamentary work and coordination on matters of mutual concern in international parliamentary forums. For his part, Lord Martin Callanan, head of the British delegation, emphasized the historic and strategic partnership between the two kingdoms and the UK's keenness to strengthen it. He also praised Jordan's diplomatic efforts, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, in laying the foundations for sustainable regional stability.

Iraq's CF: Armed factions not behind Kurdistan oil field strikes
Shafaq News – Baghdad Iraq's ruling Shiite alliance, the Coordination Framework (CF), denied on Tuesday any involvement by affiliated armed factions in the recent drone strikes that targeted vital oil fields in the Kurdistan Region. Speaking with Shafaq News, Amer al-Fayez, a senior figure in the CF—the political umbrella representing many armed factions—dismissed the attacks as 'disruptive acts' carried out by forces seeking to destabilize the country and embarrass the Iraqi government, asserting that 'all factions agree Iraq must stay out of regional conflicts.' The armed groups, according to Al-Fayez, had informed both the Framework and the government that they had 'no connection whatsoever' to the strikes, reaffirming their support for national stability. Earlier today, the Kurdistan Region Presidency denounced the assaults on the Khurmala and Sarsangoil fields in Erbil and Duhok, urging Baghdad to act swiftly to stop future aggression. In response, the Iraqi Parliament and government launched an immediate investigation into the incidents, with the Iraqi Presidency describing them as 'terrorist acts.' Kurdish officials have accused elements within the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF)—a state-sanctioned umbrella of mostly Shiite armed groups—of orchestrating the strikes under the pretext of targeting alleged Israeli intelligence sites. The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has consistently rejected those claims as fabrications, asserting that no Israeli presence exists within its territory. Iraq's Military Command, however, rebuffed the accusations, calling them 'baseless' and 'unacceptable,' and challenging the KRG to submit evidence through formal channels.
