Hamas mourns legislative council member Mohammed Al-Ghoul, martyred in Zionist bombing

Doha – Saba: The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) mourned Palestinian Legislative Council member Mohammed Al-Ghoul, head of its Legal Committee and former Minister of Justice in the Palestinian government led by the late Ismail Haniyeh, confirming that Al-Ghoul was martyred in a cowardly Zionist assassination crime targeting him on Tuesday morning in the Gaza Strip. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Hamas said: "The martyr Mohammed Al-Ghoul was one of the symbols of advocacy, jihad, national and legal work. He ascended to the heights of glory and immortality as a martyr, by the will of Allah, in a cowardly Zionist assassination crime that targeted him this morning while he was on the path of advocacy and serving his people and their cause, as part of the enemy's ongoing series of crimes against our people." The movement added: "The martyrdom of leader Mohammed Faraj Al-Ghoul is a profound loss for Palestine, the resistance project, and Hamas, which today lost one of its righteous sons and exceptional men who devoted their lives to Allah and dedicated their years to the liberation of the land and the people, lifting the historical injustice from our struggling people." Hamas continued: "Martyr Mohammed Faraj Al-Ghoul was a model of a committed scholar, a steadfast politician adhering to principles and positions, and a resolute resistance fighter. He carried the burden of his cause from his youth and was honored to belong to the ranks of the Islamic movement, becoming one of the pioneering founders of Islamic activism in the Gaza Strip." The statement further noted: "Martyr Al-Ghoul rose while holding organizational, political, and legislative positions, always being the voice of truth, the tongue of the oppressed, and a courageous defender of principles and rights—unyielding and unwavering in resolve." Hamas pointed out that the martyr Al-Ghoul was arrested multiple times by the Zionist enemy but remained steadfast, resolute, never deviating from his stances or retreating from his principles. The movement highlighted that during his membership in the Legislative Council, Al-Ghoul was "a model of a free national parliamentarian," and as Minister of Justice, he was "a symbol of justice, a living conscience of the resistance, and a drawn sword against all attempts at normalization and surrender." Hamas stated that Al-Ghoul was known in the fields of advocacy and reform as an eloquent speaker and wise guide, his name always associated with truth, goodness, and unity, having dedicated his life to serving his people. The movement affirmed that as it mourns this mujahid leader to the masses of the Palestinian people and the nation, it emphasizes that "the blood of the martyrs will not be in vain," and that "the assassination of our leaders and scholars will only strengthen our commitment to the path of resistance, loyalty to the martyrs' blood, and determination to continue the struggle until liberation and return."
