Al Hamriyah Club launches 'Our Holiday is Different'

This came in the presence of the programme's Higher Committee, led by Programme Director Ahmed Al Salman, along with members of the Oversight and Follow-up Committee, including Sheikh Khalid bin Faisal Al Qasimi, Jawaher Mohammed, Tareq Al Harmoudi, Hassan Al Toumi, and Mohammed Salah, in addition to Khalifa Al Zarouni, a member of the Evaluation Committee, and Mohammed Al Kaabi, from the Media Committee. Strong Opening The opening day witnessed a notable turnout from Al Hamriyah Club, represented by members of the Board of Directors: Sultan Al Shamsi, General Secretary; Eng. Ali Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Institutional Communication Committee; Issa bin Rakan, Chairman of the Cultural and Community Committee; Dr Sultan Al Shamsi, Quality and Excellence Advisor; and the Director of the 'Our Holiday is Different' programme, Eng. Manea Al Naqbi, along with participants and their parents. Welcome and Programme Vision Engineer Manea Al Naqbi welcomed the attendees and expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Sharjah Sports Council for its continued support and supervision of the programme. He affirmed that participants are set to enjoy an exceptional summer experience through a diverse array of purposeful activities and events. Awareness and Inspiration to Kick Off the Summer Journey The first day featured an awareness workshop presented by the Sharjah Social Services Department, followed by inspirational stories from participants in previous editions of the programme. The day concluded with a group photo to mark the official start of what promises to be an exciting and enriching summer journey at Al Hamriyah Club.

Appreciation to Sharjah Sports Council and Alignment with Leadership Vision His Excellency began the meeting by extending his thanks to the Sharjah Sports Council for the continued organisation of 'Our Holiday is Different' across the Emirate's clubs. He affirmed that the programme genuinely reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. Comprehensive and Inclusive Summer Programme Emphasised He stressed the importance of preparing a rich and integrated summer programme that meets the aspirations of all age groups. The programme should reflect Al Hamriyah Club's distinction as an inclusive and supportive environment for talents and energies—open to the wider community and committed to fostering creativity and innovation. Full Readiness to Deliver an Engaging Sports Summer The working team, across its administrative, strategic, and media committees, expressed full readiness to deliver an exciting and diverse sports summer—turning the 'Our Holiday is Different' theme into a tangible reality at Al Hamriyah Club.

Ahmed bin Hamdan attends Al Hamriyah Sailing Championship ceremony

The event was attended by His Excellency Hamid Al Shamsi, Chairman of Al Hamriyah Club, and His Excellency Abdul Malik Jani, Vice President of the Sharjah Sports Council. This ceremony coincided with the club's organisation of the "Al Hamriyah International Modern Sailing Championship" and its hosting of the third round of the Emirates Champion Championship, along with the global "Vigital" sailing competition. Acknowledgments Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan congratulated Al Hamriyah Club on its new status as an international training center, emphasising the significant efforts made by the club to advance water sports. Statements of appreciation In response, His Excellency Hamid Al Shamsi expressed gratitude to Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan for his efforts and the role of the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation and the Sharjah Sports Council in achieving the club's international accreditation. Al Hamriyah Club to host two international sailing competitions

Both races are part of the UAE Sailing Champion Series' third round, which is being hosted by the club. The international sailing competition will involve national teams from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Iran. Al Hamriyah Modern Sailing Team's training facility will host all three competitions. Boosting local talents Humaid Al Shamsi, Chairman of Al Hamriyah Club, emphasised the value of holding such an international championship in helping UAE-based players improve their talents via exposure to foreign competition. Gratitude for national recognition Al Shamsi thanked the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation (SARF), led by Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, for choosing Al Hamriyah as the venue of the first global "phygital" championship. He underlined that the event demonstrates the UAE's pioneering role in various areas.

Weekly Community Participation The event took place over four weeks during Ramadan, specifically on Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays, and was held at Al Hamriyah Beach Park. It attracted a large number of sports enthusiasts from the local community. Appreciation Expressed by Club Ahmed Al Shamsi, Executive Director of Al Hamriyah Club, conveyed his appreciation to the Sharjah Sports Council for its ongoing support of the "Sport Before Iftar" initiative, which has established itself as an annual tradition for clubs throughout the emirate during Ramadan. Thanks to Participants Al Shamsi expressed gratitude to the participants for their regular attendance and active involvement, highlighting that their enthusiasm showcases the community's deep interest in sports as a cultural activity during the holy month.
