The award-winning waterpark has unlocked an exciting new chapter with the launch of its expanded zone, which is packed with over 20 new rides, slides and experiences, taking the grand total of splashy rides, slides and experiences to 60. The new 13,445sqm expansion brings a fresh twist to the already beloved waterpark. Among the highlights is Al Falaj Race, the region's first-ever side-by-side duelling tube raft ride. Think friendly rivalry, lots of splashes and a few unexpected turns. For younger adventurers, Al Sahel Junior introduces the region's first mini zero-gravity boomerango, a scaled-for-size thrill that doesn't skimp on the fun. And then there's Bahamut's Rage, a high-thrill log flume-style ride that promises plenty of drama from the very first drop. Another one is called Al Mafras, a winding desert-themed water slide designed just for kids. Red Dunes, a twisting closed aqua tube delivers a high-speed swirl of excitement. Little ones will also love the Mini Dawwama, a smaller version of the iconic tornado ride – ideal for first-time daredevils. Yas Waterworld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, has officially opened the doors to its highly anticipated expansion — adding over 13,445sqm of attractions. The family-friendly attraction was crowned 'Best Water Theme Park' at the International Travel Awards last year. The new area in the park is based on a 'Lost City' theme with more than 20 new exhilarating rides, slides and experiences across 13,445 square metres of new space. New additions include the junior version of the Dawwama ride - which is the world's biggest six-person tornado water coaster. Another is called Al Mafras, which is described as a "twisting, desert water slide for kids" with "smooth turns, exciting slopes, and a fun-filled splash landing." A single pass for adults into the park cost AED 295.00 (£58) if you buy online or AED 325 (£65). Junior price starts from AED 250 (£50). Children below three years old can enter for free.
