SIO launches new website to support digital transformation
The Social Insurance Organisation (SIO) has launched its new website ( in line with the government's programme and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, aimed at enhancing public service quality and improving efficiency in meeting the needs of citizens and residents. Sahar Rashid Al Mannai, Chief Executive Officer of the SIO, said the new website is a key step in the organisation's digital transformation strategy. She noted that the platform offers an improved and integrated user experience that makes it easier to access insurance related information and services. The redesigned website features a modern layout reflecting the SIO's corporate identity. It includes structured content on electronic services, relevant laws and regulations, a list of frequently asked questions, a library of guides and instructional videos, a media centre, and up to date statistics. The platform also includes inclusive accessibility tools to accommodate all segments of society, including persons with disabilities, in line with international standards for safe and inclusive digital access. Al Mannai concluded that the new platform represents a significant milestone in the organisation's institutional development, reinforcing its commitment to delivering flexible, secure, and transparent digital services. According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Mannai emphasized the significance of integrating modern technologies to advance beneficiary services. The agreement is set to be effective in the latter half of the year. Al Mannai highlighted the importance of strengthening electronic verification processes to provide safer and more efficient services. This move is expected to expedite procedures and enhance user experience. Housing Ministry signs MoU with AEO-Bahrain
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Association of Engineering Offices-Bahrain (AEO) to strengthen cooperation, support housing initiatives, and promote the exchange of expertise. The agreement also aims to enhance the quality of housing services and expand the contribution of Bahraini engineering offices to national housing projects. The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the Social Housing Innovation Conference and Exhibition. Fatima Ibrahim Al Mannai, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, emphasised the importance of deepening collaboration between the Ministry and the private sector, particularly engineering offices, which play a key role in advancing housing services and project development. She commended the significant contributions of Bahraini engineering offices to the Kingdom's broader development efforts. Al Mannai noted that the MoU seeks to provide engineering services of the highest standards to citizens benefiting from housing support, while also enhancing the role of local engineering offices in projects implemented by the Ministry. On his part, Faek Jumaa Mandil, Chairman of AEO-Bahrain, affirmed the value of reinforcing public-private partnerships and maintaining close coordination to achieve shared goals. SIO completes preparations to disburse revised cost-of-living allowance for retirees
In line with the general state budget agreements reached between the Legislative Authority and the Government, the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO) announced the completion of all technical and administrative preparations required to disburse the cost-of-living allowance for retirees. The disbursement, carried out in coordination with the relevant authorities, includes retroactive payments covering the difference between the previous and revised allowances for the period from January to April, and will coincide with the April pension disbursement. Sahar Rashid Al Mannai, Chief Executive Officer of the SIO, said that the approved allowance amounts are as follows: – BHD 230 per month for pensions not exceeding BHD 700. – BHD 205 per month for pensions between BHD 700 and BHD 1,500. – BHD 115 per month for pensions exceeding BHD 1,500. Al Mannai added that the SIO notified all eligible recipients of the retroactive amounts via text messages, sent separately from the usual monthly pension notifications. She underscored that the Organisation continues to work towards ensuring the financial sustainability of pension funds and delivering services to retirees with the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
