Egypt, UAE Coordinate to Supply 2 Million Gallons of Water Daily to Gaza Residents

Taarek Refaat The United Arab Emirates and Egypt are intensifying their humanitarian coordination to deliver 2 million gallons of potable water daily to residents of the Gaza Strip, as part of a broader joint relief effort, UAE Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Organizations Sultan Al Shamsi announced on Wednesday. Speaking during a live phone interview with Egypt's Sada El-Balad TV, Al Shamsi highlighted the ongoing water desalination efforts aimed at serving over one million Gazans. Plans are underway to expand the water supply line deeper into central Gaza. Al Shamsi revealed that 5,000 tons of Emirati aid are currently staged in El Arish, Egypt, awaiting entry into Gaza. Additionally, 143 trucks loaded with food supplies, medical equipment, and water are part of the relief convoy. 'Providing safe drinking water is our top priority in Gaza right now,' said Al Shamsi, underlining that access to clean water remains one of the most critical challenges in the besieged enclave. He also confirmed the presence of a floating Emirati hospital stationed in El Arish, as well as a field hospital inside Gaza, which have together supported the treatment of over 2,600 patients and companions from Gaza in the UAE. Al Shamsi addressed circulating reports about the closure of the Rafah border crossing, categorically denying them: 'I have seen with my own eyes that the crossing is open on the Egyptian side,' he stated. He also dismissed what he described as "rumors" intended to undermine relief operations, affirming that no misinformation campaign would halt the humanitarian support being provided by both Egypt and the UAE. 'Whatever is being said, we will continue our mission. Egypt and the UAE are committed to helping the Palestinian people,' he said. The Gaza Strip has been grappling with acute shortages in water, electricity, fuel, and medical supplies due to ongoing conflict and restricted access points. The UAE and Egypt's joint efforts are seen as a vital humanitarian lifeline, offering both immediate relief and infrastructure-based solutions. read more CBE: Deposits in Local Currency Hit EGP 5.25 Trillion Morocco Plans to Spend $1 Billion to Mitigate Drought Effect Gov't Approves Final Version of State Ownership Policy Document Egypt's Economy Expected to Grow 5% by the end of 2022/23- Minister Qatar Agrees to Supply Germany with LNG for 15 Years Business Oil Prices Descend amid Anticipation of Additional US Strategic Petroleum Reserves Business Suez Canal Records $704 Million, Historically Highest Monthly Revenue Business Egypt's Stock Exchange Earns EGP 4.9 Billion on Tuesday Business Wheat delivery season commences on April 15 News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results

e7 Group unveils capital restructuring through $218mln dividends, growing demand across region

Abu Dhabi – The board of e7 Group has approved a one-off special dividend of AED 800 million as part of a strategic capital restructuring plan to enhance shareholder returns and optimize long-term value creation, according to a press release. The group will also be committed to paying a dividend of at least 10 fils per share annually over the next three years, from 2025 to 2027. Moreover, in light of the special dividend, e7 Group will also make a voluntary offer to buy back its outstanding warrants at a price of AED 2.40 per warrant. The initiative provides additional strategic options for e7 Group to further consolidate its market position among the leading players in identity and packaging solutions across the region. With growing demand across key markets in the Middle East and Africa, the UAE-listed group is strategically well-positioned to broaden its platform, deepen client relationships, and enhance profitability. Chairman of e7 Group, Ahmed Al Shamsi, said: 'In light of our strong cash position and having explored a significant number of near-term inorganic growth opportunities, we are pleased to declare a one-off special dividend payment of AED 800 million, which we believe is currently the most efficient and prudent use of our excess capital.' Al Shamsi elaborated: 'This strategic capital restructuring is a clear sign of our financial strength and disciplined approach to capital allocation. We remain committed to delivering sustainable shareholder value through a clear multi-year dividend framework, where we expect to pay a minimum dividend of 10 fils per share to shareholders over the next three years.' The Chairman concluded: 'Our strategy remains focused on operational excellence, scaling our platform through organic growth and bolt-on inorganic opportunities, while also continuing to evaluate strategic options for the business and enabling long-term value creation for our shareholders.' It is worth noting that E7 Group's shareholders previously approved AED 147.10 million dividend payout for 2024. The amount represented 70% of the annual distributable net profit, exceeding the group's established minimum payout of 50%. Abu Dhabi Awards launches 12th edition, inviting community members to nominate inspiring role models

MAYS IBRAHIM/WAM (ABU DHABI) Under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Abu Dhabi Awards has officially launched its 12th edition on Tuesday. Coinciding with the UAE's designation of 2025 as the Year of Community, this edition celebrates 20 years of honouring individuals whose selfless acts of goodness and giving benefitted the UAE community. It will be held under the theme 'Hand in Hand'. Since its inception, the Abu Dhabi Awards has honoured 100 recipients of 18 nationalities for their impactful contributions across various fields, including community service, sustainability, healthcare, volunteerism, science, preservation of culture and heritage, environmental protection, and support for people of determination. 'The ongoing efforts of these recipients serve as a testament that even the smallest acts of kindness are powerful in creating a ripple effect, inspiring others to play an active and meaningful role in serving the community,' the Abu Dhabi Awards said in a statement. Nominations for this year's edition are now open, and individuals from across the UAE are invited to nominate individuals whose acts of goodness and dedication have had a meaningful impact on the UAE community, regardless of their age, nationality, or profession. This may include citizens, residents, non-residents, and people with notable international achievements that bring honour to the UAE. The process is open year-round through the Abu Dhabi Awards digital platform. A single nomination is sufficient for consideration, but individuals cannot nominate themselves. 'Each nomination for the Abu Dhabi Awards celebrates the values of selflessness and dedication that we hold dear within our community. The awards aim to honour the unsung heroes who serve across all segments of society, working selflessly to help those around them, and quietly serving the nation without expecting recognition,' said Mahra Al Shamsi, a member of the Abu Dhabi Awards Organising Committee. For the first time, the award has introduced an interactive online nomination form specifically for children, encouraging the youth to both witness and appreciate acts of kindness. Speaking with Aletihad, Al Shamsi explained that this move follows an overwhelming response in previous years, where a large number of nominations came from children through physical forms distributed in schools. 'Children make up a huge percentage of the UAE community. It's vital to instil the values of goodness at an early age, not just to do good, but to recognise it in others,' Al Shamsi said. 'Goodness in Motion' This year also sees the introduction of 'Goodness in Motion', a mobile outreach campaign designed to engage the public in high-footfall areas such as malls, schools, and construction sites. The campaign will feature giveaways, family-friendly activities, and educational content, aiming to encourage people to reflect on and nominate those around them who make a quiet yet meaningful difference in society. Moreover, a series of talks, roadshows, and workshops will be hosted in collaboration with institutions across the UAE to raise awareness about the Abu Dhabi Awards. A Revamped Trophy In celebration of its 20th year, the Abu Dhabi Awards has also unveiled a refreshed design of its iconic trophy. While retaining its recognisable shape, the updated version incorporates elements symbolising the UAE's natural environment. The base of the award represents the seven emirates, underlining national unity. It will be crafted using locally sourced materials to honour its homegrown legacy. 'One nomination could help spark a legacy of giving that lives on for generations to come,' Al Shamsi said. To submit a nomination or learn more about the Abu Dhabi Awards, visit
