Dodgers Insider Provides Injury Update on Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow

Dodgers Insider Provides Injury Update on Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Los Angeles Dodgers currently have a laundry list of starting pitchers on the shelf. Four Opening Day starters have been sidelined over the past few months: Blake Snell since early April, Tyler Glasnow since late April, Roki Sasaki since mid-May and Tony Gonsolin since early June. Three of these pitchers (Snell, Glasnow and Gonsolin) have had stints on the Dodgers' 60-day injured list at some point this season. Advertisement Snell and Glasnow – who both were transferred to the 60-day injured list in May – are the closest of the bunch to make their returns to the mound. ESPN's Alden Gonzalez, who covers the Dodgers, provided a positive update regarding both players' rehabilitation processes on Tuesday. "Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow have made really positive steps. They've gotten off the mound; they've felt good. And it looks like they're on track to come back," Gonzalez said. "I would think that, sometime in July, Tyler Glasnow's going to come back. And shortly thereafter, if things go well, Blake Snell will come back." Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Blake Snell (7) throws a pitch against the Detroit Tigers during the first inning at Dodger Kamin-Oncea-Imagn Images Gonzalez made it clear that Glasnow and Snell coming back in July is no sure thing, especially since he recommends the Dodgers take things slow and not rush their respective rehabs. Advertisement "I will say, though, that they still have to go through a natural progression. Like, this is almost Spring Training for them," Gonzalez said. "Then, you layer on top of that the fact that it's a shoulder injury. With these shoulder injuries, they're very tricky, and you don't want to speed up the process too much because you could be set back really quickly." Gonzalez said, however, that having Snell and Glasnow back in the rotation would be a welcome sign for a pitching staff that has been ransacked by injuries and a lack of production over the past few weeks. "The Dodgers have had the misfortune of all these pitching injuries occurring at a time when they're at the toughest points of their schedule." Gonzalez said. "So, they need more starts from Clayton Kershaw like the one he just gave them. They need [Yoshinobu] Yamamoto back to come back to being the guy he was in April, not the guy he has been lately." Seattle Mariners Firm In Weekly Power Rankings Despite Another Key Injury

It was not supposed to be this way for the Seattle Mariners. On paper, their starting rotation was one of, if not the best, in MLB. Now, just over the first quarter mark for the 2025 season, three members of that rotation have spent time on the injured list, with Bryce Miller the latest to join those ranks. So far, it has not done much to hurt the team's overall performance. They enter Saturday with a 24-19 record, leading the American League West by one game over the Houston Astros. Advertisement Despite the injuries, it has been a strong start to the year for the Mariners, and the latest weekly power rankings from ESPN have the team ninth in MLB, staying put from where they were in last week's rankings. "A Mariners team that enjoyed a remarkable run of health from its starting pitchers last year placed another one of their starters on the injured list Wednesday," writes Alden Gonzalez of ESPN, "when Bryce Miller was diagnosed with a bout of elbow inflammation, joining George Kirby and Logan Gilbert on the shelf. The news came on the heels of a recent four-game losing streak -- which followed an 8-2 stretch. It emphasized something we should have probably learned by now -- that nobody is going to run away with the American League West this season." Seattle has had to dig into their pitching depth to make things work in the rotation this year, but have gotten key contributions from Bryan Woo, who is emerging as a legitimate ace, and rookie Logan Evans. Advertisement Evans made his fourth career Major League start on Friday night, pitching six shutout innings against the San Diego Padres while striking out three and only walking one. He carries a 2.57 ERA across his first 21 innings at the top level of baseball. The season so far has been a good one for the Mariners. If their pitching can get much healthier down the stretch, the AL West will be theirs to lose.
