Veliz set for Spurs exit Tottenham misfit Alejo Veliz is heading home with the 21-year-old striker set to rejoin Rosario Central on loan. Veliz, who signed for Spurs in a £13million deal last summer, has struggled to make his mark in North London, managing just eight senior appearances. After underwhelming loan spells in Spain with Espanyol and Sevilla, the Argentine is now returning to his former club in a bid to revive his career, according to TyC Sports. Tottenham's Alejo Veliz returns to former club Rosario Central on loan
Tottenham Hotspur forward Alejo Veliz has returned to his former club Rosario Central on a season-long loan deal. The deal does not include an option or obligation to make the move permanent next summer, and is Veliz's third loan since joining Spurs from the Argentine club in summer 2023 in a deal worth around £13million. Advertisement Veliz, 21, spent the second half the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Sevilla but managed just six starts. He was more involved in a season-long spell at Espanyol last term, featuring 29 times and scoring four goals, including a hat-trick in the Copa del Rey win over San Tirso. Tottenham's issues with club-trained players would have made it difficult for new head coach Thomas Frank to register Veliz ahead of homegrown strikers Will Lankshear and Dane Scarlett in his Champions League squad for the coming season.
