Anwar to reiterate importance of inclusive world order at Brics summit
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is set to reinforce the importance of multilateralism amid a rapidly polarising global landscape and Malaysia's unwavering commitment to a more balanced, inclusive world order at the 17th Brics Leaders' Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from July 6-7. Acting head of mission of the Malaysian embassy in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, Ali Selamat, said the prime minister will deliver a statement entitled: 'Strengthening Multilateralism, Economic-Financial Affairs and Artificial Intelligence', during the session for Brics partner countries on Sunday.

JS-SEZ: UTM Nurtures Talent To Meet Emerging Workforce Needs
JOHOR BAHRU, April 29 (Bernama) -- Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has implemented proactive measures to cultivate highly skilled talent, addressing the workforce needs of emerging sectors in the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), said deputy vice-chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) Prof Dr Ali Selamat. He said the university is committed to equipping graduates with technical skills, entrepreneurial innovation, and competitiveness to support regional economic growth and create high-value job opportunities in the future. He said that according to the latest report, UTM maintains a 100 per cent graduate employability rate, recording the highest employment rate among public universities in Malaysia. 'This is also the result of strong ties established with industry players,' he said in a statement today. He added that efforts to produce high-skilled talent are being implemented through initiatives such as the UTM Premium Career, Entrepreneurship, and Alumni Festival (UTMPearl 2025), which is taking place at the university today and tomorrow. He said that the large-scale international programme brings job seekers, entrepreneurs, and alumni together while opening doors to strategic collaborations between the university and industry partners. 'This festival is part of UTM's ongoing initiative to produce graduates who are competitive nationally and capable of thriving globally. 'This initiative also reinforces UTM's position as a leader in sustainable human capital development, with a proud track record in graduate employability,' he said, adding that over 70 prominent companies, not only from Malaysia but also from abroad, are participating in the festival. He said the companies offer over 2,500 premium job opportunities, including industrial training placements across various fields.
