Trevon Diggs expects to return to the field by September
Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs' 2025 season appeared in doubt after he underwent chondral bone graft surgery on his left knee Jan. 23. The surgery transplants pieces of bone tissue into the joint to stimulate growth. Diggs, thought, always had the season opener circled on his calendar. He might not make it back by Sept. 4 for the first game against the Eagles, but Diggs is ahead of schedule in his rehab and hopes to be on the field sometime in September. Diggs told Clarence Hill of All City DLLS he will not need to be placed on the reserve/physically unable to perform list, which would keep him out at least four games. He missed six games with his knee injury last season. The Cowboys docked Diggs $500,000 for not rehabbing at the team facility enough, but he credits his team in South Florida for getting him back quicker than expected. The two-time Pro Bowler tore the anterior cruciate ligament in the same knee during a Week 3 practice in 2023.

Dak Prescott is "[expletive] motivated" to lead the Cowboys to the Super Bowl
On the day the Cowboys reported to training camp, left guard Tyler Smith made headlines when he said the Super Bowl is a 'realistic goal.' The Cowboys, of course, haven't played in an NFC Championship Game since 1995, which was their most recent Super Bowl appearance. New coach Brian Schottenheimer has echoed Smith's words, and quarterback Dak Prescott called it the goal and expectation every year despite the drought. 'Hell yeah. If [Smith] doesn't believe it, or anybody in that locker room doesn't don't believe it, then I would ask him to get out,' Prescott said Thursday, via Clarence Hill of All City DLLS. 'Schotty said it day one we showed up. If you don't want to win the Super Bowl, don't think we can win a Super Bowl, then don't come to Oxnard and you're in the wrong place. We know the standard when you wear the star. We know the expectations. And I credit Schotty for not shying away from it. I don't think anybody's ever heard me shy away from it. So it's just making sure everybody understands that. We have to think that. We have to manifest that. I appreciate Tyler for saying it and believing it.' Prescott heads into this 10th season with high expectations and the burden of a 2-5 postseason record. 'What I've done or accomplished really doesn't hold any weight to me,' Prescott said. 'That's the true fucking motivation. That's the truth . . . in your stomach. Like that's what's in your gut. It's obvious that I don't [have a Super Bowl] so it's not like, 'Oh my God, somebody knows there's a secret.' Like, my secrets out. No, fuck that. 'That's what pushes me to be better each and every day, and that's what I wanted. That's not just for myself. It's for everybody. You've got to love when your expectations align and your standards align with not only the coaches, the front office, but the fans as well. I think that's the great part about playing with the Cowboys is it says you're as good as your last game. Period. What are you doing for us now? And when your last games are playoff losses. . . . That's obvious. That's what sits on me, and it should sit on fans, too.'

Dak Prescott: Nobody's more disappointed than I am with team's playoff results
The Cowboys' 30-year Super Bowl drought predates Dak Prescott, but entering his 10th season, the quarterback understands the criticism of his 2-5 postseason record. He said this offseason that he wants to win a championship and 'be damned if it's just for my legacy or if it's for this team. It's for my personal being, for my sanity. The legacy will take care of itself.' Prescott was the MVP runner-up to Lamar Jackson two seasons ago and is closing in on all of the team's major passing records. But he does not have what Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman do, which separates him from consideration as the greatest in team history. '[Criticism] comes with the territory,' Prescott told Clarence Hill of All City DLLS. 'That comes with the $60 million. It is what it is. And if I'm sensitive to the truth, then I've got a problem with life. Nobody's more upset; nobody's more pissed; nobody's more disappointed about that than I am. Nobody wants to win more than me. I have the proof in what I do, in my hours and my habits of preparation. I understand it's a team game, but at the end of the day, the quarterback is paid to fill in those gaps, and when you're not playing well, to understand that and to bring the team back. And have I done that when I needed to? Absolutely not in those crucial times. And if I had, the record wouldn't be 2-5. That's being a realist. However, I know what I put into this game. I do it all for a purpose. And when I go through the fire, that just says it's shaping up what's to come. 'I would bet on myself, and I'd bet on the work that I put into this thing any day. And trust me I'd give the money I make to win and be broke. I'm not sensitive to it. It is what it is. And trust me, that's my point. Nobody's more disappointed than I am about that. All that does is that elevates the work that I put into this and how I approach it.' Prescott's hamstring is fully healthy, and he's got new additions around him, including wide receiver George Pickens, running backs Javonte Williams, Miles Sanders and Jaydon Blue and right guard Tyler Booker. His confidence in himself has not wavered, and he's ready to write another chapter. 'What I've been through in life, [criticism] doesn't affect me,' Prescott said. 'It comes with the territory. It comes with $60 million [a year as the league's highest-paid player]. I get to live out my dream. They get to continue to make judgements. And if that's talking negative on me, that's them. I have the pen in my hand. I'm going to work. It's being confident and knowing that I can get better.'

Micah Parson's strong message to Cowboys as extension talks linger: ‘Cost them more'
Yesterday's price is not today's price for Micah Parsons. The Cowboys' star and annual NFL Defensive Player of the Year candidate told All City DLLS that the contract numbers in the handshake agreement that he and owner Jerry Jones previously reached are going to increase because of the delay in finalizing his extension. 'It's going to cost them more,' Parsons said. 3 Dallas Cowboys' Micah Parsons gestures during practice at NFL football minicamp, Tuesday, June 10, 2025, AP The problem is that pass-rushers T.J. Watt (Steelers) and Trey Hendrickson (Bengals) held out of mandatory minicamp as they seek new contracts. Parsons has seen the terms of the deal that Watt is seeking and it tops what he and Jones discussed, according to All City DLLS. Therefore, Parsons has a new bar to clear. The delay, as Parsons understands it, is in Jones reaching out to agent David Mulugheta to finalize the paperwork. Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase is currently the highest-paid non-quarterback at $40.25 million per year. 3 Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones arrives ahead of an NFL football owners' meeting, Tuesday, May 20, 2025, AP The Cowboys' delayed approach to finalizing extensions last offseason with quarterback Dak Prescott and receiver CeeDee Lamb cost them millions because the top of the market at every position (even running back these days, thanks to Saquon Barkley) only continues to increase with the inflated salary cap. Instead of learning from their negligence, the Cowboys have taken the same tactic with Parsons, who has been extension-eligible since after the 2023 season. 3 Micah Parsons is waiting to get paid. AP Parsons has 52.5 sacks in 63 games and has made the Pro Bowl in each of his four seasons. He participated last week in minicamp and is due $24 million on his fifth-year option. If the extension is not done by the time that the Cowboys report for training camp on July 21, he reportedly will stage a hold-in where he shows up to avoid accumulating daily fines but does not take the field so as to avoid risking injury.

Micah Parsons: Waiting on contract extension is going to cost Cowboys more
No one can figure out what the Cowboys are doing by waiting to sign their star players to contract extensions. They have even edge rusher Micah Parsons puzzled. Parsons became eligible for a contract extension after the 2023 season. He still is waiting. The four-time Pro Bowler acknowledged he plans to become the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league, and with edge rushers T.J. Watt and Trey Hendrickson also awaiting contract extensions, Parsons said it's likely going to cost Jerry Jones more money. 'It's going to cost them more,' Parsons told Clarence Hill of All City DLLS on Thursday. Parsons and Jones confirmed to Hill they had a handshake deal in March, but Jones never called Parsons' agent, David Mulugheta, to finalize it. Parsons told Hill he has seen the deal Watt is seeking from the Steelers, and it is more than he and Jones discussed. Thus, Parsons expects that his final number will go higher than originally thought. The highest-paid non-quarterback is Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase, who is making $40.25 million annually. Parsons is hopeful of completing a deal before the Cowboys begin training camp on July 21. Otherwise, he said he will report but not practice. He is headed into the final year of his rookie deal scheduled to make $24 million on the fifth-year option.
