Mammoth send Matias Maccelli to Maple Leafs for draft pick

June 30 - The Toronto Maple Leafs acquired forward Matias Maccelli from the Utah Mammoth on Monday in exchange for a conditional draft pick. If the 24-year-old Maccelli produces at least 51 points during the 2025-26 season and the Maple Leafs make the Stanley Cup playoffs, then Utah will receive a second-round pick in the 2029 NHL Draft. If those conditions aren't met, then the Maple Leafs will convey a 2027 third-round pick to Utah. Maccelli, who carries a cap hit of $3,425,000 for the upcoming season, produced eight goals and 10 assists in 55 games for the Utah Hockey Club last year. For his four-year career, the Finland native has racked up 37 goals and 93 assists in 224 regular-season games. He earned a spot on the NHL's 2022-23 All-Rookie team with 11 goals and 38 assists for the Arizona Coyotes, the forerunner to the Mammoth. --Field Level Media

NFL.com has 3 Broncos on way-too-early All-Rookie Team

The Denver Broncos' 2025 draft class is making waves before the season even starts. Gennaro Filice recently named three of the newly drafted Broncos to his way-too-early All-Rookie team for 2025. On offense, Filice named running back RJ Harvey as his second All-Rookie RB behind No. 6 overall pick and AFC West rival, Ashton Jeanty. Advertisement "Harvey weighs 205 pounds, but his thighs appear to account for at least 100 of them," Filice wrote on "This helps explain the 5-foot-8 back's exceptional lateral agility and burst, traits that have many comparing him to last year's top rookie rusher, Bucky Irving. Running behind a premium offensive line and for an elite play-caller, Harvey has the opportunity to be a fantasy league winner in Year 1. Denver has a crowded running back room, especially after the free-agent signing of J.K. Dobbins, but that's nothing new for Sean Payton. The savvy schemer consistently finds ways to get the ball to his best players, and I think Harvey could be one of those on an offense I'm extremely high on." On the defensive side of the ball, Filice named Denver's first overall selection in the 2025 NFL draft, Jahdae Barron (20th overall) to his All-Rookie team as a nickel defensive back. "Denver's first-round selection of Barron took many by surprise, but defensive coordinator Vance Joseph called it a 'no-brainer' move for the franchise. 'He's a very mature, smart football player. My cousin (former Texas secondary coach Terry Joseph) actually coached him for three years in college, so I watched him play for a long time,' Joseph said last week. 'His ball skills, his combine workout -- entire process was really buttoned up, you know, so he was a can't-miss prospect for us.' "Helming a defense that emerged as one of the league's best last year, Joseph has plenty to be excited about this offseason. After adding linebacker Dre Greenlaw and safety Talanoa Hufanga in free agency, the Broncos spent their top pick on a multifaceted cover man who should slot right in as the unit's starting nickel. NFL Network draft guru Daniel Jeremiah comps Barron to one of the most versatile and impactful defensive backs in the game today: Detroit's Brian Branch. Advertisement The Broncos had one more player appear on the All-Rookie team: punter Jeremy Crawshaw, who was the only punter selected in April's draft. "So, you're telling me the only punter drafted this past April is A) from the positional hotbed of Australia and B) now in the positional paradise of Denver," wrote Filice. "Lock it in! Crawshaw's going to send balls into orbit in the mile-high air -- I know Broncos special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi agrees. 'He is as talented as a punting prospect that I've ever had,' Rizzi said last week." If these three players perform as well as Filice projects, Denver will have a successful season indeed. Indianapolis Colts' Tyler Warren left off 2025 All-Rookie team projection

Gennaro Filice of put together his projected All-Rookie team for the 2025 season, and not included was Indianapolis Colts' tight end Tyler Warren. With only one tight end making Filice's All-Rookie team, he went with Chicago's Colston Loveland over Warren. Advertisement "Standing 6-6, 241 pounds, Loveland is a tight end who runs routes with the fluidity of a wideout," Filice wrote about Loveland. "That's what makes him special. And that's what made Sam LaPorta a rookie Pro Bowler under Ben Johnson in Detroit, so it stands to reason that Johnson will get the most out of Loveland in Chicago." Loveland was the first tight end off the board, going No. 10 overall to the Bears. How each team viewed Loveland and Warren in the draft really came down to what they were looking for at the tight end position. As Daniel Jeremiah described during the pre-draft process, Loveland comes from the Travis Kelce tree of tight ends and is a pass-catching threat first. Warren, meanwhile, comes from the Rob Gronkowski tree, able to impact the passing game but also leaving his mark in the run game as a blocker. Warren has been "very active" in the Colts' passing game during OTAs and minicamp and will make a quick impact on this offense. He can provide that unit with a big middle of the field target, and also add some unpredictability to the offense with his do-it-all skill set. Advertisement 'He's been phenomenal so far," Shane Steichen said of Warren during minicamp, via NBC Sports. "Obviously, I know we don't have pads on, but his movement skills, great feel, great instincts. It'll be good this week to get another week of that work in, and then going into training camp will be great for him.' However, when it comes to being left off Filice's list, one would guess that also a part of that equation is each team's quarterback situation. Although Filice didn't mention the Colts specifically, there are obvious unknowns under center this season, while the combination of Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams has many very bullish on the Bears. Castle a unanimous All-Rookie first team pick, joined on team by Risacher, Wells, Edey and Sarr

NEW YORK — Stephon Castle gets one more accolade from his rookie season: The San Antonio guard was the only unanimous first-team selection on the All-Rookie team. Castle — the league's rookie of the year — was the only player to get first team votes from all 100 members of the global panel of sportswriters and broadcasters who cast ballots to decide most of the NBA's annual awards.
