Community partnership initiative ‘All of Oman' wraps up in Muscat
Muscat – Muscat governorate on Sunday hosted the final stop of the 'All of Oman' initiative, a national programme designed to strengthen community partnership and advance integrated development across the sultanate. The concluding event, held under the patronage of Sayyid Saud bin Hilal al Busaidi, Governor of Muscat, will run for three days at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. 'All of Oman' is a series of public engagement events aimed at involving citizens in shaping the country's long-term vision, Oman Vision 2040. Through meetings, field visits and interactive workshops, the initiative seeks to unify local efforts with national development goals. In his opening remarks, Busaidi said the initiative helps translate the vision's strategies into tangible results. 'It strengthens local development by tapping in-to each governorate's geographic and economic strengths. We give priority to projects that address actual community needs,' he said, adding that the effort aims to raise institutional performance, improve public services and boost community satisfaction. Dr Khamis bin Saif al Jabri, Head of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, said the initiative reflects genuine community engagement. 'It empowers governorates and promotes decentralisation and sustainability of cities,' he said, noting that workshops helped build government staff capacity and encouraged the exchange of ideas. He also stressed the importance of youth participation in planning the country's future. Fatima bint Khamis al Fazarieh, Head of Planning and Project Management at Muscat governorate, presented an annual development plan, which focuses on investment, renewable energy, market regulation, digital transformation, tourism and community satisfaction. Abdullah bin Nasser al Saidi, General Supervisor of Oman Vision 2040 Communication Programme, outlined the unit's role in coordinating with governorates and aligning with national priorities. Specialised workshops during the event covered governance, development strategies, change management and target-setting, aimed at strengthening planning and project management skills. A key feature of the closing event was an interactive youth meeting, bringing together representatives from academic and youth institutions in Muscat. Participants learnt about recent progress under Vision 2040 and heard success stories, reinforcing the goal of encouraging young Omanis to help shape future projects.

Musandam hosts 'All of Oman' Initiative
KHASAB: The activities of the "All of Oman" project were launched on Monday in the Wilayat of Khasab, marking its tenth stop in a series of field meetings organised by the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit under the auspices of Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said al Busaidy, Governor of Musandam, with broad participation from representatives of government and private sectors. "The visit of 'All of Oman' project reflects the nation's steadfast commitment to applying the principle of decentralisation and enhancing direct communication between stakeholders responsible for implementing the vision and governorate development," Sayyid Ibrahim said. He added that this step underscores the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit's keen interest in monitoring the execution of plans and strategies designed to achieve the vision's ambitious goals. He further stated: "Our focus is on elevating performance levels and achieving efficiency and satisfaction to meet our economic aspirations and enhance societal well-being, while always emphasising that people are the core, purpose and foundation of the vision." This initiative aims to strengthen partnerships with governorates and empower them to formulate their developmental visions and plans, based on a decentralised approach that embodies the objectives of the ambitious national vision. The event will continue for three days. The programme includes visual presentations highlighting efforts to achieve the vision's goals, with a focus on the priority of sustainable governorate and urban development. It also features various workshops, including one on mechanisms for setting and monitoring targets, another on development methodologies, and a session on change management. These workshops aim to enhance the institutional capacities of government and private entities, contributing to sustainable development. The initiative also includes an interactive session with the youth of the governorate, engaging them in dialogue about Oman Vision 2040. The meeting further seeks to involve a number of inspiring young individuals from each governorate by showcasing their experiences and success stories.

Oman: Dhofar unveils key projects to boost tourism, economy
Salalah – Dhofar is implementing major tourism and recreational developments as part of efforts to diversify the economy and promote sustainable growth. Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar, announced steady progress on the Boulevard Razaz project, a landmark initiative in Ittin Plain, Salalah. With an investment of RO40mn, the project is expected to become a major draw for visitors, attracting over 1mn tourists annually while generating around 1,500 jobs. It is a key component of the governorate's strategy to expand non-oil income sources and enhance quality of life. Sayyid Marwan made the announcement during the opening session of a two-day meeting on Sunday on 'All of Oman', a national programme aligned with Oman Vision 2040. Organised in collaboration with regional administrations, the programme reflects the country's shift towards decentralised development. ''All of Oman' empowers governorates with more administrative and economic authority in line with directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik,' said Sayyid Marwan. 'Projects such as Boulevard Razaz are part of a comprehensive approach to promote growth and sustainability.' The 470,000sqm Boulevard Razaz project will include a waterway, landscaped gardens, a hotel and an exhibition centre, making it one of the most significant tourism developments in the southern governorate. Dhofar's development plans also include energy and infrastructure projects. The Dhofar 1 wind power plant currently supplies 50MW of electricity – enough to power 16,000 homes. Two more facilities – Dhofar 2 and the Sadah wind farms with combined capacity of over 230MW – are scheduled to begin operations by 2027. These projects are expected to contribute significantly to the sultanate's renewable energy goals. In the leisure and tourism sector, new recreational sites such as Uptown and Agbir in Ittin, as well as scenic viewpoints in Dummar, Darbat and Hamrir have already been launched. On the infrastructure front, preparations are under way for a RO35mn dualisation project of the 33km Raysut-Mughsail road. The project will include bridges, roundabouts and animal crossings to improve connectivity between Salalah and western Dhofar. Additionally, key roads in Salalah – Sultan Qaboos Street, Sultan Taimur Street, Al Farooq Street and the Ittin intersection – will be upgraded to improve traffic flow and enhance access to the Sarfait border crossing with Yemen.
